Bookstores · WhatsApp marketing

Make WhatsApp the counter that never closes for a book-list photograph.

WhatsApp marketing for a bookstore is using the app your buyers already message you on to answer lists, announce arrivals and hold orders. GullySales works on the business profile, the quick replies and the broadcast lists that let a small team handle the rush.

Scope, fee, reporting and term are agreed in writing after we have read your brief and spoken to you.

What WhatsApp marketing means

WhatsApp marketing is sending updates, offers and reminders to customers on the app most Indian buyers already check daily. GullySales sets up business WhatsApp, writes the message templates and keeps the list consented and current.

For bookstores

Where it usually goes wrong, and what we would do.

  • “The list photograph is the main enquiry”

Parents send the school book list as an image and expect a priced answer. A shop that has a saved reply and one person to price the list wins the set while the parent is still deciding.

  • “A catalogue beats a long chat”

Typing out every title and price takes the counter staff away from customers. A WhatsApp Business catalogue of the sets and guides that sell lets the shop send a link and move on.

  • “Broadcasts must be wanted”

A message about every new title to every contact is muted or blocked. A list of readers who asked to hear about children's books or exam guides gets opened because they chose it.

  • “One phone number cannot serve a season”

In list week one shared handset becomes a queue. Labels, away messages and a clear owner for each chat keep the shop from losing the late-night order to a faster app.

What we do

What we deliver for bookstores.

Every deliverable, what it covers for you, and the result it is there to produce. Nothing here is an extra.

  1. A WhatsApp Business profile

Shop name, address, hours, description and a link to the Maps listing, set up so the profile looks like a real bookshop.

Result: A new contact knows who they are messaging.

  2. Quick replies for common asks

Saved answers for list pricing, held copies, collection timings and special orders.

Result: Staff reply in seconds with the same words.

  3. A catalogue of the sets and guides

Entries for textbook sets by class, exam guides and bestsellers, with price and availability.

Result: You send a link instead of typing a list.

  4. Opt-in reader lists

Separate lists for children's books, exam guides and new arrivals, joined by readers who asked.

Result: Broadcasts go to people who want them.

  5. Labels and ownership rules

Labels for new list, priced, awaiting payment, ready and collected, with a named person for each chat.

Result: Every conversation shows where it stands.

How the result is measured

  • Messages delivered
  • Reply rate
  • Enquiries from WhatsApp

Recorded as a baseline before work starts, so every later report has an honest comparison.

Who it is for

This is written for these bookstores.

  • School textbook and notebook sellers
  • Academic and college bookstores near campuses
  • Competitive exam book specialists for UPSC, banking, NEET and engineering entrance
  • Children's bookshops and picture book specialists
  • Regional-language bookshops stocking Kannada, Tamil, Telugu, Hindi and Malayalam titles
  • Second-hand and used bookshops
  • Religious and spiritual book sellers
  • Library suppliers and institutional book vendors

How it works

From your first message to the first report.

No open-ended retainer. Every step gives you something in writing.

  1. First

    Your brief

You tell us what you need in a few short steps: your business, what you want, where enquiries come from and how they are handled.

  2. After the brief

A conversation and a written scope

We read it, then talk with whoever handles your enquiries. If you want our help, the scope, the fee and the reporting come in writing, and nothing starts before you have read them.

  3. Before work starts

    Baseline recorded

The numbers this work is meant to move, such as enquiries, quotations, orders, visits or renewals, written down so every later report has an honest comparison.

  4. After the baseline

    The first fix goes live

The fix we agreed to start with is put in place and measured against the baseline, whether that is a reply, a follow-up, a page, a listing or the handover between marketing and sales.

  5. As agreed

    Report against the baseline

What moved, what did not, and what changes next, in plain words. How often you get it is set in writing before work starts.

  6. At renewal

    Renew on the numbers

The term ends and you decide whether to continue from the results. The length is agreed in writing before anything starts.

How the whatsapp marketing work runs

  1. 1

    Understand current WhatsApp use

We review how customers currently message you and how consistently, if at all, it is answered.

  2. 2

    Audit common questions

We identify the questions that come up repeatedly, which decide what should be automated first.

  3. 3

    Set up automation and templates

An automated first response and quick reply templates are built for the most common needs.

  4. 4

    Connect to the CRM

Conversations are linked to customer records so context carries over between team members.

  5. 5

    Measure and optimise

We track response time and conversion, refining automated responses based on what customers actually ask.

Why us

Why owners pick GullySales over an agency.

  • Marketing and sales, as one job

Most agencies stop at the enquiry. We also fix what happens after it: the reply, the follow-up, the quote and the CRM.

  • The person on the first call does the work

No account managers in between. You are never handed to someone you have not met.

  • A baseline before anything starts

Your numbers are written down on day one, so every later report compares against something honest.

  • The fee in writing, split three ways

Our time, your media spend and production on separate lines. You always see what goes to us.

  • No guarantees we cannot keep

The term is agreed in writing and never a default twelve months. We never promise a ranking or a lead count, because nobody controls those.

  • One office, and we say so

Nagarbhavi, Bengaluru. We work across India by call and WhatsApp and travel when a session needs to be in person.

#257, 3rd floor, Sri Nanjundeshwara Complex, Nagarbhavi 8th Block, Outer Ring Road. How we work.

Your brief

Tell us what you need, and we will read it before we call.

Eight short steps about your business, what you want and who decides. Most questions are a tap, and you can skip any you would rather answer on the call.

FAQ

Questions owners ask before they call.

Not here? More answers, or ask on WhatsApp.

Do we need the WhatsApp Business API?
Not at the start. The Business app covers a small shop's catalogue, labels and quick replies. We look at your volume first. Check the platform's current rules and pricing before moving to the API.
Can we send school-season messages to all our contacts?
Only to people who have agreed to hear from you. Messages to others risk being reported. Keep broadcasts relevant, give a way to opt out and follow the platform's current rules.
How much does it cost?
There is no price list, because the work differs by business. The fee is scoped after we have read your brief and spoken to you, and put in writing before anything starts, split into our time, your media spend and production.
How long is the contract?
The term is agreed in writing after we have spoken, along with the fee and the reporting. It is never a default twelve months, and renewal is decided on the numbers against the baseline recorded at the start.
How soon will we see results?
It depends on the trade, the channel and what is already in place. After we have read your brief and spoken to you, we say what we would expect to move first and how it will be measured against the baseline. Nothing here is guaranteed.
Who will actually do the work?
The person you speak to before anything starts. We work from one office in Nagarbhavi, Bengaluru, with no account managers in between.
What do you need from us?
Your brief, and a conversation. After that, access to whatever this work touches, such as your website, your accounts or your enquiry record, and time with the people who handle your enquiries.
What if we are not happy with the work?
Tell us and the plan changes. Everything is reported against the baseline, so a number that is not moving is visible to both sides. The term is in your written scope, and the refund and cancellation policy sets out the rest.
