Optical businesses · Reputation management

Answer the wrong power complaint without discussing anyone's eyesight.

Reputation management for an optical shop deals with two complaints that come round again and again: a late lens, and a power the customer says is wrong. GullySales sets the reply rule, collects reviews at collection time, and keeps eyesight out of a public thread.

Scope, fee, reporting and term are agreed in writing after we have read your brief and spoken to you.

What reputation management means

Reputation management is watching what is said about your business across Google, social media and review sites, and responding to it before it changes a buyer's mind. GullySales monitors mentions, drafts responses to negative reviews and flags recurring complaints back to your team.

For optical businesses

Where it usually goes wrong, and what we would do.

  • “Delivery and power are the only two bad reviews”

Read any optical shop's ratings and it is a late lens or a pair that gave a headache. Both have an answer, and neither belongs in public detail.

  • “A public reply about a person's vision is a mistake”

Confirming that somebody was tested, or what their power was, touches their privacy and your optometrist's professional standing. One line and a phone number is the whole reply.

  • “The happiest minute is collection, not the test”

The customer puts the glasses on and can read the board. That is when to ask for a review, not a week later by message.

  • “A two-year cycle makes reviews go stale”

People buy once every couple of years, so a shop can slip to ratings written three years ago. A searcher reads the dates and assumes the worst.

What we do

What we deliver for optical businesses.

Every deliverable, what it covers for you, and the result it is there to produce. Nothing here is an extra.

  1. A reply rule the counter can follow

Who answers, how fast, and a line that acknowledges a complaint and offers a recheck without confirming any person's visit or power.

Result: Nobody improvises a reply on a bad morning.

  2. A review ask at the collection counter

A card and a link on the counter, handed over when the glasses are fitted, with the staff member asking in person.

Result: The ask lands while the new glasses are still on their face.

  3. A recheck and remake policy stated publicly

What happens if a power feels wrong, how long a remake takes and what it costs, written on the site and repeated at handover.

Result: Most power complaints are settled at the counter.

  4. A watch list of where customers post

Google, JustDial and the local pages where your area's residents ask for shop recommendations, checked on a fixed day.

Result: You see a review the day it appears.

  5. Old listings and numbers cleaned up

Duplicate entries, a closed branch and a disconnected landline claimed or removed so one current listing remains.

Result: A searcher finds the shop that is actually open.

  6. Rating and recency in the report

New reviews, average rating and the date of the most recent one, read next to walk-ins and the baseline recorded before work starts.

Result: The profile never drifts back to old reviews.

How the result is measured

  • Average rating
  • Response time to reviews
  • Negative mentions resolved

Recorded as a baseline before work starts, so every later report has an honest comparison.

What to do with each review

How to answer a customer's review about frames, lenses, power and delivery.

Praise for frame and fitting
Thank them and name the frame or lens type if they did. Ask whether they would add the area and what they bought, such as progressive lenses or kids' frames.
Complaint about wrong power or headache
Ask them to bring the glasses and the prescription. Recheck the lens power and the centration on the machine. Reply that you will do it with the optometrist. Keep the prescription copy on the order.
Delay in delivery of glasses
Say which order, what is pending, such as a lens from the lab, and give a name to call. Check the order slip for the date you promised and the lab's dispatch record.
Complaint about adaptation to progressive lenses
Reply that the first days with progressive lenses take getting used to, and invite them back for a check. Note the fitting height and the frame on the order for the recheck.
Complaint about a frame breaking or a coating peeling
Ask for the bill and the glasses. State the warranty on the frame and lens coating exactly as printed on the bill, and say what you will do under it.
Review that looks fake or from a rival shop
Match the name against your orders. If nothing matches, report it through the platform's own process and reply once, saying you cannot find a purchase.

How it works

From your first message to the first report.

No open-ended retainer. Every step gives you something in writing.

  1. First

    Your brief

You tell us what you need in a few short steps: your business, what you want, where enquiries come from and how they are handled.

  2. After the brief

A conversation and a written scope

We read it, then talk with whoever handles your enquiries. If you want our help, the scope, the fee and the reporting come in writing, and nothing starts before you have read them.

  3. Before work starts

    Baseline recorded

The numbers this work is meant to move, such as enquiries, quotations, orders, visits or renewals, written down so every later report has an honest comparison.

  4. After the baseline

    The first fix goes live

The fix we agreed to start with is put in place and measured against the baseline, whether that is a reply, a follow-up, a page, a listing or the handover between marketing and sales.

  5. As agreed

    Report against the baseline

What moved, what did not, and what changes next, in plain words. How often you get it is set in writing before work starts.

  6. At renewal

    Renew on the numbers

The term ends and you decide whether to continue from the results. The length is agreed in writing before anything starts.

How the reputation management work runs

  1. 1

    Understand current perception

We start by actually searching your business name and reviewing what a stranger would currently see.

  2. 2

    Audit existing mentions

We catalogue reviews, mentions and search results, flagging anything negative or inaccurate.

  3. 3

    Plan responses

A calm, factual response is prepared for anything that needs one, agreed with you before posting.

  4. 4

    Implement monitoring

Ongoing checks are set up so new mentions are caught promptly rather than discovered by accident.

  5. 5

    Measure and report

Sentiment and response times are reported, with your business name searched again to see what has moved.

Why us

Why owners pick GullySales over an agency.

  • Marketing and sales, as one job

Most agencies stop at the enquiry. We also fix what happens after it: the reply, the follow-up, the quote and the CRM.

  • The person on the first call does the work

No account managers in between. You are never handed to someone you have not met.

  • A baseline before anything starts

Your numbers are written down on day one, so every later report compares against something honest.

  • The fee in writing, split three ways

Our time, your media spend and production on separate lines. You always see what goes to us.

  • No guarantees we cannot keep

The term is agreed in writing and never a default twelve months. We never promise a ranking or a lead count, because nobody controls those.

  • One office, and we say so

Nagarbhavi, Bengaluru. We work across India by call and WhatsApp and travel when a session needs to be in person.

#257, 3rd floor, Sri Nanjundeshwara Complex, Nagarbhavi 8th Block, Outer Ring Road. How we work.

FAQ

Questions owners ask before they call.

A customer has posted that we gave the wrong power. What do we write?
One short line: you are sorry it is not comfortable, a recheck is free, and here is the number to call. Do not confirm they were tested, do not name the optometrist and do not discuss the prescription. The rest happens on the phone.
How do we collect reviews when people buy once in two years?
Ask at every collection, including repairs, adjustments and contact lens pickups, not only at a frame sale. A shop that asks at each of those keeps recent reviews arriving all year.
How do we remember to ask a customer who buys glasses once in two years for a review?
Ask while they are in the shop collecting the glasses and smiling, with a QR code at the counter. Add the order to your customer list so you can send a polite note at the check-up. Never offer a discount for a review.
A customer posted that our eye test was wrong. How do we reply?
Reply that you would like to recheck, and invite them to bring the glasses and the prescription. Do not question their eyes in public. If a doctor's prescription was used, say that you made the glasses as per the prescription.
How much does it cost?
There is no price list, because the work differs by business. The fee is scoped after we have read your brief and spoken to you, and put in writing before anything starts, split into our time, your media spend and production.
How long is the contract?
The term is agreed in writing after we have spoken, along with the fee and the reporting. It is never a default twelve months, and renewal is decided on the numbers against the baseline recorded at the start.
How soon will we see results?
It depends on the trade, the channel and what is already in place. After we have read your brief and spoken to you, we say what we would expect to move first and how it will be measured against the baseline. Nothing here is guaranteed.
Who will actually do the work?
The person you speak to before anything starts. We work from one office in Nagarbhavi, Bengaluru, with no account managers in between.
What do you need from us?
Your brief, and a conversation. After that, access to whatever this work touches, such as your website, your accounts or your enquiry record, and time with the people who handle your enquiries.
What if we are not happy with the work?
Tell us and the plan changes. Everything is reported against the baseline, so a number that is not moving is visible to both sides. The term is in your written scope, and the refund and cancellation policy sets out the rest.
