Plywood and timber dealers · Branding

You sell somebody else's brand, so sell the depot's word on grade.

Branding for a depot is what your quote slip, your delivery challan and your board on the godown say about honesty on grade, because the plywood brand is not yours. GullySales puts that set together and checks it against the dealer agreements limiting how a company's name may be used.

Scope, fee, reporting and term are agreed in writing after we have read your brief and spoken to you.

What branding means

Branding is what a customer remembers about your business beyond the product, including your name, colours, tone of voice and what you are known for locally. GullySales sets or corrects this once and applies it consistently across your website, signage and adverts so the business looks like one company everywhere.

For plywood and timber dealers

Where it usually goes wrong, and what we would do.

  • “The challan is seen by the carpenter every week”

It goes to the site, sits in the flat and gets read by the client, and a handwritten scrap says none of what a printed one does.

  • “Your board competes with the brands you sell”

Most depots hand the board to a plywood company, and the depot's own name ends up smaller than the sheet it sells.

  • “The delivery lorry advertises in every layout”

It parks outside a flat for an hour with neighbours watching, and lettering naming the grades you carry does more than a hoarding.

What we do

What we deliver for plywood and timber dealers.

Every deliverable, what it covers for you, and the result it is there to produce. Nothing here is an extra.

  1. A quote slip naming grade, brand and size

One printed format carrying the grade, the brand, the thickness, the quantity, the rate and how long that rate holds.

Result: The customer can compare your quote honestly.

  2. A delivery challan worth leaving behind

A printed challan with the depot name, the material, the batch details and a number to call, instead of a torn page.

Result: Your name stays in the flat after the lorry goes.

  3. Godown board and shop signage sorted out

The depot's own name given the main board, with brand material placed where your dealer agreements allow it.

Result: Your name is the one people remember.

  4. Lorry and tempo lettering

The depot name, the grades you stock and one phone number on the delivery vehicle, sized to be read across a layout road.

Result: Every delivery advertises in a new street.

  5. A carpenter card for the referrer programme

A card carrying the carpenter's name and number, used at the counter to record who brought which client in.

Result: The programme has something physical behind it.

  6. Brand usage checked against your agreements

The names, logos and material each plywood company permits a dealer to use, confirmed and written down before anything is printed.

Result: Nothing on your board puts a dealership at risk.

How the result is measured

  • Recognition in customer feedback
  • Consistency across channels
  • Repeat enquiries by name

Recorded as a baseline before work starts, so every later report has an honest comparison.

Positioning in one sentence

The sentence a plywood and timber depot can fill in so a carpenter knows what to send customers for.

We stock [brands, grades and timber] for [carpenters, interior designers and homeowners] in [area], and unlike [the depot down the road] we [write grade and thickness on every slip].

Who it is for
Carpenters who recommend a depot, interior designers specifying a brand, homeowners buying for one flat, or a contractor buying shuttering ply. Pick the trade you serve best.
What you stock and how you describe it
List brand, grade such as BWR or BWP, thickness and sizes as the trade calls them. A carpenter wants those words, not 'premium plywood'.
What a carpenter or designer gets that the other depot does not
Stock on the shelf, the grade as written on the slip, delivery to site, and a counter that treats the carpenter's referral well. Pick what you do and say it.
The proof you can show
Authorisation letters from the brands you sell, a photograph of the godown with stock sorted, and designers who will say you supply as quoted.
Words buyers ignore
'Best quality', 'lowest rate' and 'genuine' are everywhere. Replace them with brand and grade written on every quote, and an honest line on what you do not stock.
The name and tagline test
Check the name against others in the same timber market, and make clear whether you are a dealer for brands, a saw mill or both.

How it works

From your first message to the first report.

No open-ended retainer. Every step gives you something in writing.

  1. First

    Your brief

You tell us what you need in a few short steps: your business, what you want, where enquiries come from and how they are handled.

  2. After the brief

A conversation and a written scope

We read it, then talk with whoever handles your enquiries. If you want our help, the scope, the fee and the reporting come in writing, and nothing starts before you have read them.

  3. Before work starts

    Baseline recorded

The numbers this work is meant to move, such as enquiries, quotations, orders, visits or renewals, written down so every later report has an honest comparison.

  4. After the baseline

    The first fix goes live

The fix we agreed to start with is put in place and measured against the baseline, whether that is a reply, a follow-up, a page, a listing or the handover between marketing and sales.

  5. As agreed

    Report against the baseline

What moved, what did not, and what changes next, in plain words. How often you get it is set in writing before work starts.

  6. At renewal

    Renew on the numbers

The term ends and you decide whether to continue from the results. The length is agreed in writing before anything starts.

How the branding work runs

  1. 1

    Interview customers and team

We talk to real buyers, won and lost, and to people inside the business who deal with customers daily.

  2. 2

    Review the competitive field

We look at how the nearest competitors present themselves so the position is not accidentally identical.

  3. 3

    Draft the position

A first version of the positioning statement and messaging pillars is written and checked against what customers actually said.

  4. 4

    Test it against real conversations

The draft is tried out in a real sales call or two before it is finalised, since a position that does not survive a real conversation needs rework.

  5. 5

    Hand over the rollout brief

The final position, pillars and not-for list are documented for your team and any agency to apply consistently.

Why us

Why owners pick GullySales over an agency.

  • Marketing and sales, as one job

Most agencies stop at the enquiry. We also fix what happens after it: the reply, the follow-up, the quote and the CRM.

  • The person on the first call does the work

No account managers in between. You are never handed to someone you have not met.

  • A baseline before anything starts

Your numbers are written down on day one, so every later report compares against something honest.

  • The fee in writing, split three ways

Our time, your media spend and production on separate lines. You always see what goes to us.

  • No guarantees we cannot keep

The term is agreed in writing and never a default twelve months. We never promise a ranking or a lead count, because nobody controls those.

  • One office, and we say so

Nagarbhavi, Bengaluru. We work across India by call and WhatsApp and travel when a session needs to be in person.

#257, 3rd floor, Sri Nanjundeshwara Complex, Nagarbhavi 8th Block, Outer Ring Road. How we work.

FAQ

Questions owners ask before they call.

Not here? More answers, or ask on WhatsApp.

Should we brand the depot or the brands we sell?
The depot, because the brands move. A customer who trusts your word on grade comes back when you change a line. Give the company material the counter and the racks, and keep the main board for your own name.
Can we use the plywood company's logo on our board?
Your dealer agreement decides that, and companies differ on it. Ask your distributor for what is permitted in writing. Many agreements allow their material inside the shop and restrict the main board, so check before paying a signboard maker.
Should grade and thickness appear on our quote slip and board?
Yes. Show brand, grade, thickness and any standard mark on the quote slip and delivery challan in the same words. A carpenter checks that what arrived matches what was quoted, and clear wording protects you in a dispute.
Should the depot be named after the family or the town?
A family name builds trust with carpenters who have dealt with you for years. A place name helps strangers find you. Many depots use both. Check the name against nearby depots and listings, and keep it identical on the board, slip and challan.
How much does it cost?
There is no price list, because the work differs by business. The fee is scoped after we have read your brief and spoken to you, and put in writing before anything starts, split into our time, your media spend and production.
How long is the contract?
The term is agreed in writing after we have spoken, along with the fee and the reporting. It is never a default twelve months, and renewal is decided on the numbers against the baseline recorded at the start.
How soon will we see results?
It depends on the trade, the channel and what is already in place. After we have read your brief and spoken to you, we say what we would expect to move first and how it will be measured against the baseline. Nothing here is guaranteed.
Who will actually do the work?
The person you speak to before anything starts. We work from one office in Nagarbhavi, Bengaluru, with no account managers in between.
What do you need from us?
Your brief, and a conversation. After that, access to whatever this work touches, such as your website, your accounts or your enquiry record, and time with the people who handle your enquiries.
What if we are not happy with the work?
Tell us and the plan changes. Everything is reported against the baseline, so a number that is not moving is visible to both sides. The term is in your written scope, and the refund and cancellation policy sets out the rest.
