Inverter, UPS and generator dealers · Buyer persona

The flat owner, the clinic admin and the plant head buy backup for three different reasons.

A buyer persona for a power backup dealer is a written picture of who buys which product, what triggered the search and who else signs off. GullySales builds one persona for each product line from your own invoices and call notes, so each page, ad and quote speaks to the right person.

Scope, fee, reporting and term are agreed in writing after we have read your brief and spoken to you.

What buyer persona means

A buyer persona is a plain description of the kind of customer who actually buys from you. It includes what they search, what worries them and who else they ask before deciding. GullySales builds this from real enquiries and past sales rather than a generic template, then uses it to write every page and advert.

For inverter, UPS and generator dealers

Where it usually goes wrong, and what we would do.

  • “The homeowner buys relief from a bad week”

The trigger is a run of outages, and the question is how many fans, lights and a television the system will carry. The household does not know the word load. A persona written in kVA and ampere-hours misses the person who is actually on the phone.

  • “The clinic or office buys a promise to the equipment”

An administrator or IT vendor is protecting computers, scanners or a lab analyser, where a gap of even a second in supply is the failure. This buyer asks about online UPS, battery brand and who attends when it trips, and compares dealers on service response.

  • “The factory or association buys a service network”

A maintenance head or a committee secretary sizes a generator with a consultant, checks emission norms and asks who comes at night when it will not start. Several people approve, so the persona has to name each role and the question that role asks.

  • “The repeat buyer is the persona you already own”

A customer with an installed inverter becomes a battery buyer later, and a lithium or solar hybrid buyer after that. Your invoices already describe this person: the home, the battery type and the installation date.

What we do

What we deliver for inverter, UPS and generator dealers.

Every deliverable, what it covers for you, and the result it is there to produce. Nothing here is an extra.

  1. One persona per product line

A one-page profile each for home inverters, online UPS, generators and solar hybrid systems, written from your past orders and call notes.

Result: The team can say who a quote is for before dialling.

  2. The trigger and the first question

For each persona, the event that starts the search and the first thing the buyer asks, in the buyer's own words.

Result: Your pages and scripts open with the buyer's question, not the product name.

  3. A map of who signs off

For commercial and industrial buyers, the roles involved, such as admin, IT vendor, consultant and accounts, and what each needs to see.

Result: Quotes carry the document each approver asks for.

  4. Language list from real calls

Words and phrases the buyers use on the phone and on WhatsApp, collected from your own staff and missed-call records.

Result: Ads and pages use the words a searcher types.

  5. Persona-linked tagging in the record

Each enquiry tagged with its persona when it is entered, so later reports show which buyers you actually win.

Result: You can see which persona brings orders and which only brings calls.

How the result is measured

  • Enquiry match to persona
  • Conversion rate by persona
  • Content aligned to persona

Recorded as a baseline before work starts, so every later report has an honest comparison.

Who is asking

Know what each of these buyers asks when the lights go out.

The flat owner, the clinic admin and the plant head buy backup for three different reasons, and each begins with a different question.

Flat owner after a long outage
Wants lights and fans for a stated number of hours and a safe place for the battery. Ask the appliance list before you show a model.
Clinic or lab administrator
Cannot lose power for equipment or cold storage and asks about changeover and service response. Quote an online UPS or genset against the actual load.
Shop owner with freezers and billing
Wants billing, lights and a freezer kept on. Explain the load that will run, and what falls outside the backup.
Plant head or maintenance manager
Reads the load, the fuel, the AMC and the service response in writing. Send a formal quotation and a service plan with it.
Apartment association secretary
Decides for common areas with a committee behind them. Provide a written proposal and references from similar buildings.

Not for

It is not the right fit if.

  • You have not spoken to a customer about why they bought, so a persona would be your guess about their worry.
  • You sell only one product to one kind of buyer, and extra personas would add paper without changing the pitch.
  • Counter staff answer every call the same way and will not change, so a persona would sit in a folder.

How it works

How the buyer persona work runs

The work itself, in order. How an engagement starts, from your brief to a written scope, is set out on our method page.

  1. 1

    Understand the current view

We start with how your team currently describes the customer, since the gap between belief and reality is the finding itself.

  2. 2

    Audit past enquiries and sales

We look at recent enquiries and closed deals to see who actually bought, not who was assumed to buy.

  3. 3

    Interview customers and staff

Structured conversations with recent buyers, held as talk about the last purchase and not a questionnaire. We ask what happened before they called, who else was involved and what they compared. Customers agree before we contact them, and their answers are reported without names.

  4. 4

    Build the personas

Findings are written into short, usable persona documents rather than a long report.

  5. 5

    Apply to your marketing

We show where each persona should change a page, an ad or a script you already have. The sales team reads the drafts and says which ring true. A persona they do not recognise is rewritten.

Where this fits

Three pieces of sales work, in this order.

This work sits inside sales process design, at stage 0, foundation. The audit comes before it, and sales management keeps it running.

  1. Step 1

    Sales audit

Find where deals are being lost and what to fix first.

Start here if you cannot say where orders are lost.

  2. Step 2 · you are here

    Sales process design

One written way to sell, from first enquiry to repeat order.

Start here if every salesperson sells differently.

  3. Step 3

    Sales management

A target, a review routine and someone who owns the number.

Start here if the team has targets and no routine.

FAQ

Questions owners ask before they call.

Not here? More answers, or ask on WhatsApp.

Do we need personas if we sell to everyone?
Yes, because a flat owner and a factory head ask different questions. One message for both reads as vague to each. Separate personas let you write a short sizing line for the home and a service-network line for the plant.
Where does the information come from?
From your own invoices, quotation files, call notes and WhatsApp chats. We do not invent buyer details. Where a gap exists, we mark it and ask your sales team to fill it from the next ten conversations.
Can a persona include the electrician who recommends us?
Yes. An electrician or IT vendor who recommends a brand is a buyer in effect, with a different question: margin, availability and how soon a fault is attended. We write that persona separately from the end customer.
How does the electrician who recommends us fit into a persona?
As an influencer persona in its own right. The electrician advises the household and fits the unit, so write down what they want: commission clarity, stock on the shelf and a dealer who stands behind the sale. Keep it separate from the buyer's.
How much does it cost?
There is no price list, because the work differs by business. The fee is scoped after we have read your brief and spoken to you, and put in writing before anything starts, split into our time, your media spend and production.
How long is the contract?
The term is agreed in writing after we have spoken, along with the fee and the reporting. It is never a default twelve months, and renewal is decided on the numbers against the baseline recorded at the start.
How soon will we see results?
It depends on the trade, the channel and what is already in place. After we have read your brief and spoken to you, we say what we would expect to move first and how it will be measured against the baseline. Nothing here is guaranteed.
Who will actually do the work?
The person you speak to before anything starts. We work from one office in Nagarbhavi, Bengaluru, with no account managers in between.
What do you need from us?
Your brief, and a conversation. After that, access to whatever this work touches, such as your website, your accounts or your enquiry record, and time with the people who handle your enquiries.
What if we are not happy with the work?
Tell us and the plan changes. Everything is reported against the baseline, so a number that is not moving is visible to both sides. The term is in your written scope, and the refund and cancellation policy sets out the rest.

Your next practical step

Tell us what you are trying to grow, and we will read it before we call.

Eight short steps, mostly taps. Skip anything you would rather answer on the call.
