Application modernisation and legacy migration companies · Digital marketing

Spend on the few channels where technology leaders actually look for help.

Digital marketing for a modernisation firm covers search, LinkedIn, email and partner channels aimed at a small number of technology buyers. GullySales works on choosing the channels, the offers behind them and the records that show which channel reached which account.

Scope, fee, reporting and term are agreed in writing after we have read your brief and spoken to you.

What digital marketing means

Digital marketing is the combined work of search, social media, advertising and website channels running together rather than as separate projects with separate people. GullySales runs these as one connected system so a change in one channel, such as a new offer, is reflected everywhere at once.

For application modernisation and legacy migration companies

Where it usually goes wrong, and what we would do.

  • “The audience is small and named”

Perhaps a few hundred people across a few hundred companies decide these projects. Broad advertising spends money on the wrong people. Account-led channels reach the right ones.

  • “Search carries the intent that advertising cannot”

A buyer typing the name of a legacy stack and the word migration is already looking. Paid search on narrow terms and organic pages on the same terms work together.

  • “Email works when it carries something to use”

A note with a checklist or a short guide earns a reply from a technology head. A newsletter of company news does not. The list must be built from people who agreed to hear from you.

  • “Measurement is by account, not by click”

A hundred visits mean little. One architect from a target bank reading three stack pages means a good deal. Reports need to show which named accounts engaged.

What we do

What we deliver for application modernisation and legacy migration companies.

Every deliverable, what it covers for you, and the result it is there to produce. Nothing here is an extra.

  1. A channel plan for a small audience

A short plan choosing the channels, the offer behind each and the accounts each aims to reach.

Result: A plan that lists channel, offer and target accounts.

  2. Narrow paid search on stack and migration terms

Campaigns built around specific technologies and destinations, with landing pages for the assessment offer.

Result: Each search term leads to a page about that move.

  3. A permission-based email list

A list of buyers, partners and past contacts who agreed to receive notes, with a simple record of when and how.

Result: A list with a consent record for each address.

  4. Account-level engagement tracking

A sheet or tool that links site visits and email replies to named target accounts.

Result: You can see which target accounts read which pages.

  5. A landing page for the assessment offer

A page with the scope, the questions, what is handed back and a form for the buyer to start.

Result: A page the sales team can send in place of a deck.

How the result is measured

  • Enquiries across channels
  • Cost per enquiry overall
  • Channel mix by contribution

Recorded as a baseline before work starts, so every later report has an honest comparison.

Who it is for

This is written for these application modernisation and legacy migration companies.

  • Banks and NBFCs running core and loan systems built decades ago
  • Insurers with policy administration and claims platforms on old stacks
  • Hospital groups with a hospital information system nobody wants to touch
  • Manufacturers on ageing ERP customisations and plant-floor software
  • Logistics and supply chain firms with in-house dispatch and tracking applications
  • Public sector bodies and PSUs with tender-led replacement projects
  • Software product companies with a monolith that slows every release
  • Mid-sized companies moving data centres to AWS or Azure

How it works

How the digital marketing work runs

The work itself, in order. How an engagement starts, from your brief to a written scope, is set out on our method page.

  1. 1

    Understand the objective

We agree the one thing this campaign needs to achieve before choosing any channel.

  2. 2

    Audit available channels

We assess which channels are realistic to run well within the budget and timeline.

  3. 3

    Strategise the central idea

One message and offer is developed that will work across every planned channel.

  4. 4

    Implement across channels

Each channel receives its own adapted version, launched on a shared timeline.

  5. 5

    Measure as one campaign

Results from every channel are combined into a single report against the original objective.

Where this fits

Three pieces of sales work, in this order.

This work sits inside sales process design, at stage 0, foundation. The audit comes before it, and sales management keeps it running.

  1. Step 1

    Sales audit

Find where deals are being lost and what to fix first.

Start here if you cannot say where orders are lost.

  2. Step 2 · you are here

    Sales process design

One written way to sell, from first enquiry to repeat order.

Start here if every salesperson sells differently.

  3. Step 3

    Sales management

A target, a review routine and someone who owns the number.

Start here if the team has targets and no routine.

FAQ

Questions owners ask before they call.

Is Google Ads worth it for a modernisation firm?
It can suit narrow searches on a named stack or migration, where each click is a possible assessment. Wide terms are costly and attract vendors and students. Start with a small budget and see which terms bring real conversations.
Should we run webinars?
A webinar on a specific migration problem, led by the engineer who solved it, suits this trade. Invite named accounts and partners. A webinar on broad transformation themes fills the room with people who cannot buy.
How do we avoid wasting spend on students and vendors?
Use narrow terms, add negative keywords and send the click to a page with a clear assessment offer. Watch who fills the form. If the responses are not from buyers, tighten the terms or stop the channel.
How much does it cost?
There is no price list, because the work differs by business. The fee is scoped after we have read your brief and spoken to you, and put in writing before anything starts, split into our time, your media spend and production.
How long is the contract?
The term is agreed in writing after we have spoken, along with the fee and the reporting. It is never a default twelve months, and renewal is decided on the numbers against the baseline recorded at the start.
How soon will we see results?
It depends on the trade, the channel and what is already in place. After we have read your brief and spoken to you, we say what we would expect to move first and how it will be measured against the baseline. Nothing here is guaranteed.
Who will actually do the work?
The person you speak to before anything starts. We work from one office in Nagarbhavi, Bengaluru, with no account managers in between.
What do you need from us?
Your brief, and a conversation. After that, access to whatever this work touches, such as your website, your accounts or your enquiry record, and time with the people who handle your enquiries.
What if we are not happy with the work?
Tell us and the plan changes. Everything is reported against the baseline, so a number that is not moving is visible to both sides. The term is in your written scope, and the refund and cancellation policy sets out the rest.
