Software development companies · Digital marketing

Keep selling through the month the release is late.

Digital marketing for a software firm is one plan across search, LinkedIn, listings and outreach, kept running while the founders are buried in delivery. GullySales sets the calendar, names an owner for each piece, and reports opportunities against it.

Scope, fee, reporting and term are agreed in writing after we have read your brief and spoken to you.

Realistic editorial illustration of software development companies at work in India

What digital marketing means

Digital marketing is the combined work of search, social media, advertising and website channels running together rather than as separate projects with separate people. GullySales runs these as one connected system so a change in one channel, such as a new offer, is reflected everywhere at once.

For software development companies

Where it usually goes wrong, and what we would do.

  • “The pipeline dies in a release month”

Every founder-led firm has the same cycle: a good quarter of selling, then months of silence while a product ships.

  • “Two buyers who read nothing alike”

A funded founder wants speed and a team they can trust. An IT head wants references, process and a support plan.

  • “Clutch is a support, not a channel”

Overseas and startup buyers check the profile, but Indian buyers still decide on a referral and a case study.

What we do

What we deliver for software development companies.

Every deliverable, what it covers for you, and the result it is there to produce. Nothing here is an extra.

  1. A plan that survives a release month

Material drafted and scheduled in the quiet weeks, so nothing depends on a founder being free during a launch.

Result: The quarter after a big release is not empty.

  2. Material for the founder and for the IT head

A speed and team story for funded founders, and a references, process and support story for an IT head in an established company.

Result: Each buyer reads something written for them.

  3. Listing profiles kept current with real reviews

Clutch and GoodFirms completed properly, with verified reviews requested from the clients whose projects went well.

Result: The shortlist check does not stop at your profile.

  4. A named owner and a regular hour

One person accountable for the firm's own marketing, with what is due written down in advance.

Result: It does not stop when production breaks.

  5. One view of opportunities by source

Opportunities, discoveries and contracts by channel and domain on a single page, against the baseline recorded before work began.

Result: You can close a channel that never produced a contract.

How the result is measured

  • Enquiries across channels
  • Cost per enquiry overall
  • Channel mix by contribution

Recorded as a baseline before work starts, so every later report has an honest comparison.

Where to start for software firms

Write the work up safely, then put it where founders and IT heads already look.

Case studies without breaking an NDA
Write each project as problem, approach and outcome without the client's name, and have the client approve it. Note which case study a prospect read before the first call.
A page for each kind of build
Write separate pages for MVPs, mobile apps, business systems and maintenance retainers, naming the stack you use. Record the page behind each enquiry.
The founder's LinkedIn profile
Make the founder's and delivery head's profiles say what you build and for whom. Record any discovery call that starts from a profile or post.
Clutch and GoodFirms profiles
Complete the profiles and ask finished clients for an honest review. Treat them as proof for people who already know your name.
One sheet for discovery calls
Record buyer type, source, project type and stage for each call. It shows which channel brings scoped projects rather than idle enquiries.
What to leave until later
Ads on the phrase software development company and conference sponsorship can wait until the sheet shows where good projects come from.

Who it is for

This is written for these software development companies.

  • Custom software development companies
  • Mobile app developers for Android and iOS
  • Product engineering firms working with startups
  • IT consultants and technology advisers
  • SaaS product companies selling to Indian businesses
  • Offshore development centres serving overseas clients
  • Firms specialising in one domain, such as healthcare, logistics or fintech
  • Low-code and automation developers
  • Software firms bidding for government work on GeM

Not for

It is not the right fit if.

  • The founders are in delivery full time and nobody can keep a profile or page up to date.
  • You have no case study you may publish, and channels would point at an empty portfolio.
  • You want leads but cannot say which kind of project you want to win.

How it works

How the digital marketing work runs

The work itself, in order. How an engagement starts, from your brief to a written scope, is set out on our method page.

  1. 1

    Agree the one aim

We settle what the campaign must achieve, such as enquiries for a launch or footfall for an event, and the date it must be live.

  2. 2

    Check what is ready

We list the channels you already run, who runs them, and what each can produce in the time available. Anything that cannot be done properly is left out.

  3. 3

Write the idea and the message sheet

We draft the one-sentence idea, test it against each planned format, and fix the wording that all channels will copy.

  4. 4

Brief every channel from the same sheet

Your agency, freelancer or in-house person receives the message sheet and calendar. Their work is checked against the sheet before it goes out.

  5. 5

    Run on the shared calendar

Channels go live together. If the offer changes, every channel is changed on the same day from the same sheet.

  6. 6

    Measure as one campaign

Enquiries and orders are read against the baseline. The reporting schedule is agreed in writing with the scope.

Where this fits

Three pieces of sales work, in this order.

This work sits inside sales process design, at stage 0, foundation. The audit comes before it, and sales management keeps it running.

  1. Step 1

    Sales audit

Find where deals are being lost and what to fix first.

Start here if you cannot say where orders are lost.

  2. Step 2 · you are here

    Sales process design

One written way to sell, from first enquiry to repeat order.

Start here if every salesperson sells differently.

  3. Step 3

    Sales management

A target, a review routine and someone who owns the number.

Start here if the team has targets and no routine.

FAQ

Questions owners ask before they call.

Not here? More answers, or ask on WhatsApp.

Which channels are worth it for a small software firm?
Search in one domain, LinkedIn from the founders, and two listing profiles. Everything else waits until those work.
Who runs this when the founders are in delivery?
One person with a weekly slot, and twenty minutes of a founder's time for the technical part.
Should we publish a rate card?
Publish how you price rather than the price: fixed scope for defined work, time and material for open scope, and what a discovery phase covers. Visitors who see the method arrive better prepared. Keep exact rates for the call, where you understand the project.
How do we know a LinkedIn message brought a client?
Ask on the discovery call how they first heard of you, and record first touch and last touch separately. A founder may have seen a post, then searched you. The two columns show which channel starts the conversation and which one finishes it.
How much does it cost?
There is no price list, because the work differs by business. The fee is scoped after we have read your brief and spoken to you, and put in writing before anything starts, split into our time, your media spend and production.
How long is the contract?
The term is agreed in writing after we have spoken, along with the fee and the reporting. It is never a default twelve months, and renewal is decided on the numbers against the baseline recorded at the start.
How soon will we see results?
It depends on the trade, the channel and what is already in place. After we have read your brief and spoken to you, we say what we would expect to move first and how it will be measured against the baseline. Nothing here is guaranteed.
Who will actually do the work?
The person you speak to before anything starts. We work from one office in Nagarbhavi, Bengaluru, with no account managers in between.
What do you need from us?
Your brief, and a conversation. After that, access to whatever this work touches, such as your website, your accounts or your enquiry record, and time with the people who handle your enquiries.
What if we are not happy with the work?
Tell us and the plan changes. Everything is reported against the baseline, so a number that is not moving is visible to both sides. The term is in your written scope, and the refund and cancellation policy sets out the rest.
