Software development companies · Reputation management

Answer the buyer asking what happened to your last project.

Reputation management for a software firm is handling what past clients and former engineers say in public, because a buyer risking money on an unbuilt product reads all of it. GullySales watches the mentions, drafts replies and collects reviews that survive scrutiny.

Scope, fee, reporting and term are agreed in writing after we have read your brief and spoken to you.

What reputation management means

Reputation management is watching what is said about your business across Google, social media and review sites, and responding to it before it changes a buyer's mind. GullySales monitors mentions, drafts responses to negative reviews and flags recurring complaints back to your team.

For software development companies

Where it usually goes wrong, and what we would do.

  • “Every buyer has heard of a project that died”

A founder left with half a codebase by somebody else checks you far harder than the brief suggests.

  • “Attrition is read as delivery risk”

A buyer looks at your team's job-site reviews and works out whether the engineers who pitched will still be there.

  • “A rescue client asks about the last vendor”

How you talk about the firm that left the project half-built tells the buyer how you will talk about them.

What we do

What we deliver for software development companies.

Every deliverable, what it covers for you, and the result it is there to produce. Nothing here is an extra.

  1. Reviews asked for at the right milestone

A request sent after a release goes live and the client is using it, not months later while an invoice is being argued.

Result: Reviews come from a moment that went well.

  2. Alerts on the company and the founders' names

Watches on search, review platforms and social, so a post from a client or a former engineer reaches you early.

Result: You answer before a buyer finds it.

  3. A drafted reply for the delay complaint

A factual answer setting out scope changes, dates and what was delivered, agreed with you before anything is published.

Result: One reply ends it instead of a thread.

  4. A change record behind every project

Scope changes, approvals and dates kept per project, so a public claim about a delay can be answered from the record.

Result: You argue with a document, not a memory.

  5. Employer reviews watched and answered

Replies to reviews from engineers who have left, and a routine for asking the present team during a good quarter.

Result: A buyer checking attrition sees both sides.

  6. The complaint pattern reported

Themes pulled from reviews, exit conversations and lost proposals, with the change to make inside the firm, against the baseline.

Result: The same objection stops arriving next quarter.

How the result is measured

  • Average rating
  • Response time to reviews
  • Negative mentions resolved

Recorded as a baseline before work starts, so every later report has an honest comparison.

What to do with each review

How to answer each kind of review a software development company gets.

Praise from a founder
Thank them and ask whether you may name the product. If it is under NDA, ask for a short quote about how the project was run, without naming the product or its users.
Scope and billing dispute
Reply that every change request is recorded and priced before work starts, and offer to go through the log by call. Check that your change log is up to date and signed off.
Bug after launch
Say what the contract gives for fixes after delivery and what counts as new work. Check that the support terms are written into the contract, with the start date and what is covered.
Source code and ownership
Say what the contract says on handover, and offer a call. Check that your handover checklist covers repository access, credentials, hosting accounts and documentation.
Developer left mid-project
Say the work continued under a handover and name who leads it now. Check that each project has written notes another engineer could pick up.
Review from a former engineer
Reply briefly and do not describe the person. Say there is a route inside the company for such concerns, and check someone senior reads it.

Who it is for

This is written for these software development companies.

  • Custom software development companies
  • Mobile app developers for Android and iOS
  • Product engineering firms working with startups
  • IT consultants and technology advisers
  • SaaS product companies selling to Indian businesses
  • Offshore development centres serving overseas clients
  • Firms specialising in one domain, such as healthcare, logistics or fintech
  • Low-code and automation developers
  • Software firms bidding for government work on GeM

Not for

It is not the right fit if.

  • A client dispute over scope or billing is still open, and a public reply would worsen it.
  • You have no process for asking a satisfied client for a review, so there is nothing to protect.
  • You hope to remove an accurate review, which no tool or agency can honestly do.

How it works

How the reputation management work runs

The work itself, in order. How an engagement starts, from your brief to a written scope, is set out on our method page.

  1. 1

Search your name as a stranger would

We search the business, its main product names and the owner's name, on a phone and a laptop, and record what appears.

  2. 2

    Catalogue every mention

Reviews, news, listings, social posts and forum threads are sorted into accurate and positive, accurate and negative, and wrong. Each group gets a different action.

  3. 3

Agree the replies and the owner of each

Replies are drafted and approved by you. Anything involving a refund, a clinical matter, a legal claim or a named employee goes to the right person in your business before anything is posted.

  4. 4

    Fix what you control

Listings, profile details and your own pages are corrected, and pages worth ranking for your name are strengthened with accurate information.

  5. 5

    Monitor and report

The agreed places are checked on the agreed schedule. The name search is repeated and compared with the first record.

Where this fits

Three pieces of sales work, in this order.

This work sits inside sales management. A target, a review routine and someone who owns the number.

  1. Step 1

    Sales audit

Find where deals are being lost and what to fix first.

Start here if you cannot say where orders are lost.

  2. Step 2

    Sales process design

One written way to sell, from first enquiry to repeat order.

Start here if every salesperson sells differently.

  3. Step 3 · you are here

    Sales management

A target, a review routine and someone who owns the number.

Start here if the team has targets and no routine.

FAQ

Questions owners ask before they call.

Not here? More answers, or ask on WhatsApp.

A client posted that we missed a deadline. What now?
Reply once with the dates and what changed in scope, then offer a call. The argument is what the next buyer reads.
Do verified review platforms matter?
For overseas and startup buyers, yes. A profile with real reviews reaches a shortlist that referrals cannot.
A client under NDA wants to review us but cannot name the product. Is that fine?
Yes, if the NDA allows it. They can describe how the project was run, the communication and the delivery, without naming the product, users or data. Ask them to check their own contract first, and never edit their words.
A freelancer we hired has posted about unpaid dues. How do we answer?
Check your payment record before replying. If it is due, pay it and say so briefly. If it is disputed, say you will call and share the contract terms. Do not describe the person or the amount in public.
How much does it cost?
There is no price list, because the work differs by business. The fee is scoped after we have read your brief and spoken to you, and put in writing before anything starts, split into our time, your media spend and production.
How long is the contract?
The term is agreed in writing after we have spoken, along with the fee and the reporting. It is never a default twelve months, and renewal is decided on the numbers against the baseline recorded at the start.
How soon will we see results?
It depends on the trade, the channel and what is already in place. After we have read your brief and spoken to you, we say what we would expect to move first and how it will be measured against the baseline. Nothing here is guaranteed.
Who will actually do the work?
The person you speak to before anything starts. We work from one office in Nagarbhavi, Bengaluru, with no account managers in between.
What do you need from us?
Your brief, and a conversation. After that, access to whatever this work touches, such as your website, your accounts or your enquiry record, and time with the people who handle your enquiries.
What if we are not happy with the work?
Tell us and the plan changes. Everything is reported against the baseline, so a number that is not moving is visible to both sides. The term is in your written scope, and the refund and cancellation policy sets out the rest.

Your next practical step

Tell us what you are trying to grow, and we will read it before we call.

Eight short steps, mostly taps. Skip anything you would rather answer on the call.
