These businesses sell through a referrer, a counter or a sponsor, so they win by being known to that person.

A footballer tears a ligament and the surgeon names a physiotherapy clinic the same day. A gym trainer is asked which protein tub to buy and names the brand whose representative visited last month. A company decides to sponsor a city marathon after the organiser's pitch reached the marketing head in time for the budget. In each case the sale was made by someone other than the buyer, before the buyer searched for anything.

Scope, fee, reporting and term are agreed in writing after we have read your brief and spoken to you.

In one paragraph

Sports rehabilitation centres, sports nutrition brands and sports event organisers each sell to a person who stands between them and the athlete, runner or buyer: a surgeon or coach, a trainer or gym counter, a sponsor or school. GullySales looks at how that person hears of you and what they get from you.

The three trades sell different things: recovery sessions, tubs of supplements, and entries and sponsorships for races and tournaments. They share a small group of people who recommend them, a first transaction that needs effort to become a second, proof that is hard to publish because of privacy, fake products or last year's numbers, and a rule that claims about health and performance must be handled with care.

3 kinds of business

Each kind of business in sports rehabilitation, nutrition & events sells a little differently.

Open the page closest to yours for how its buyers choose and what we would fix first.

Sports rehabilitation centres

Referrals from coaches, surgeons and physiotherapists bring the injured player, so the centre has to be known to them and look like more than a general clinic. Patients stop once the pain goes.

Sports nutrition brands

The tub reaches buyers through gym counters, distributors and marketplaces, and they ask whether it is real. Proof of a genuine batch and a trainer's recommendation outweigh a discount.

Sports event organisers

Sponsors, stall holders and entry fees pay for the event, and sponsors say yes late. The pitch pack must be current, and last year's finishers are the first people to ask back.

What they share

What usually goes wrong across sports rehabilitation, nutrition & events.

Whichever of these you run, you will probably recognise most of them.

  • “The person who recommends us has little reason to hear from us”

A surgeon, a gym trainer, a distributor or a sponsor decides before the buyer does. Unless we reach them with something specific, they name a business that did.

  • “One use, then silence”

A patient stops when the pain goes, a distributor orders once, a club calls after one injury, a runner enters one year. We do not contact them until we need them again.

  • “The proof a buyer wants is hard for us to publish”

Patient stories are private, product claims are restricted and fake stock is in circulation. Last year's event numbers have changed, so each trade has something it cannot simply put on a page.

  • “Our pitch is generic or out of date”

The clinic looks like any physiotherapy clinic, the tub looks like any other tub, and the event deck is from an earlier edition. The referrer cannot see why to choose us.

  • “Contacts live in one person's phone”

Referrers, trainers, sponsors and organisers' contacts sit with whoever met them. When that person is busy or leaves, the relationship has to start again.

Where to start

What to fix first in sports rehabilitation, nutrition & events.

In the order we would look at them. Your own enquiry records may change the order, and we would say so.

  • List the ten or twenty people who send you business, whether surgeons, trainers, distributors, sponsors or school sports teachers, and give each one a named contact on your side.
  • Prepare a one-page note for referrers saying exactly what you handle, how they pass someone to you and what they hear back.
  • Keep every past patient, buyer, distributor and participant in a list with the date of last contact, and reach out between needs, not only when you want something.
  • Publish what you can safely show, such as how to check a genuine batch, who your clinicians are or what last year's event looked like, and leave out outcome claims.
  • Update the pitch material before each season or edition so it describes the business as it is now.

FAQ

Questions about sports rehabilitation, nutrition & events.

Not here? More answers, or ask on WhatsApp.

How do we get a surgeon or coach to refer to us?
Meet them, leave a short note on what you treat and how a referral works, and send back a brief word on how the person they sent is doing, within what privacy and consent allow. A referrer needs an easy route and to hear that it worked.
What can a supplement brand or a rehabilitation centre say about results?
Describe what the product contains or what the programme involves rather than promising muscle, fat loss, recovery or a return to play. Rules on health and food claims, and on advertising for medical services, apply and change, so check the current position with your own council or adviser.
How do we tell buyers our product is genuine?
Publish a page showing how to read the batch code, which sellers are authorised and where to report a suspect pack. Give gym counters and trainers the same information so they can answer a customer on the spot.
How do we win sponsors earlier?
Send a current pitch pack with this edition's audience, dates and what a brand receives, well before your budget decisions, and keep a record of every sponsor conversation with a date for the next step. Last year's sponsors should hear from you first.
How do we bring back people who used us once?
Write to them with something relevant to their last visit, order or entry: a strength phase after rehab, a reorder reminder, an invitation to next year's race. A message with a specific reason is read; a general broadcast is not.
How much does it cost?
There is no price list, because the work differs by business. The fee is scoped after we have read your brief and spoken to you, and put in writing before anything starts, split into our time, your media spend and production.
How long is the contract?
The term is agreed in writing after we have spoken, along with the fee and the reporting. It is never a default twelve months, and renewal is decided on the numbers against the baseline recorded at the start.
Who will actually do the work?
The person you speak to before anything starts. We work from one office in Nagarbhavi, Bengaluru, with no account managers in between.
What do you need from us?
Your brief, and a conversation. After that, access to whatever the work touches, such as your profiles, your website or your accounts, and time with the people who can answer our questions.
What if we are not happy with the work?
Tell us and the plan changes. Everything is reported against the baseline, so a number that is not moving is visible to both sides. The term is in your written scope, and the refund and cancellation policy sets out the rest.
