Yoga and pilates studios · Sales coaching
Coach front-desk staff to convert a trial into a membership naturally.
Sales coaching for a yoga or pilates studio works with front-desk and instructor staff on the trial-to-membership conversation. GullySales coaches the tone so it never sounds like a hard sell.
Scope, fee, reporting and term are agreed in writing after we have read your brief and spoken to you.

What sales coaching means
Sales coaching is ongoing, one-to-one feedback on a specific salesperson's calls and deals. It differs from training because it continues after the session and is aimed at one person at a time. GullySales listens to real calls and reviews live deals to coach on what actually happened, not a hypothetical.

For yoga and pilates studios
Where it usually goes wrong, and what we would do.
“The conversation happens right after the trial”
Coaching focuses on that moment, when a student's experience is freshest and most likely to translate into a decision.
“Time and cost objections need ready answers”
Staff coached on typical concerns respond confidently rather than improvising an answer on the spot.
“The tone stays consultative, not pushy”
Coaching emphasises understanding what the student wants from their practice, which fits a wellness setting better.
What we do
What we deliver for yoga and pilates studios.
Every deliverable, what it covers for you, and the result it is there to produce. Nothing here is an extra.
Post-trial conversation coaching
Hands-on coaching for front-desk staff on the conversation that happens right after a trial class ends.
Result: Staff use the moment when a student's decision is freshest.
Objection-handling coaching for staff
Coaching on typical concerns about time and cost, so staff answer without having to improvise on the spot.
Result: A hesitant student hears a confident, consistent answer.
Consultative questioning practice
Coaching on asking what a student wants from their practice before presenting any membership option.
Result: The conversation feels like guidance, not a sales pitch.
Review of real trial conversations
Staff and coach talk through recent trial outcomes together, noting what worked and what to change.
Result: Coaching stays grounded in what is actually happening at the desk.
Role-play for new front-desk staff
A practice session for a new hire before they handle a real trial conversation alone.
Result: A new staff member is ready before their first live conversation.
How the result is measured
- Individual conversion rate
- Coaching sessions completed
- Improvement against personal baseline
Recorded as a baseline before work starts, so every later report has an honest comparison.
What to coach at the desk
Coach the desk and the instructors on these six moments around a trial class.
Watch two trial arrivals and two goodbyes this month. Note what the desk asked before and after the class.
- The trial booking call
- Check that the desk asks what the person wants from the class, any experience, injuries or pregnancy, and the time that suits, before suggesting a batch.
- The arrival
- Coach the instructor to greet a trial student by name, ask about any injury or condition privately and say where mats, props and changing rooms are.
- The goodbye conversation
- Within the same visit, the desk asks what the student liked and which class fits their goal, then explains the membership options in one short answer.
- Price and plan wording
- Coach staff to compare monthly, quarterly and a class pack in plain words, and to say what pauses, freezes and missed classes mean under the studio's own rules.
- I cannot make the time
- Prepare answers about other batches, online classes and off-peak slots, instead of letting the conversation end on a polite no.
- The trial tracker
- Record each trial student with the class, instructor, date and the reason given if they did not join, so the follow-up call mentions what they actually said.
Who it is for
This is written for these yoga and pilates studios.
- Hatha and traditional yoga studios
- Power yoga and fitness-focused studios
- Reformer and mat pilates studios
- Prenatal and postnatal yoga specialists

Not for
It is not the right fit if.
- The desk staff are new and have not yet learned the class types, so coaching on conversation would come before the facts.
- No one in the studio is willing to sit in on trial conversations, so the coach would have nothing to observe.
How it works
How the sales coaching work runs
The work itself, in order. How an engagement starts, from your brief to a written scope, is set out on our method page.
- 1
Listen first
We review recent recorded calls, call notes and deal outcomes for each rep. Where calls are not recorded, we agree with you how they will be, and tell the rep.
- 2
Set the plan
Each rep gets one or two behaviours to work on, written down and shared with their manager.
- 3
Coach on real material
Sessions play back a specific call or deal, ask the rep to say what they would change, then rehearse it.
- 4
Check the next calls
We listen to the calls that follow to see whether the behaviour changed, and say so plainly if it did not.
- 5
Adjust the plan
Focus areas move on when a behaviour has become routine or when a new gap shows up.
Where this fits
Three pieces of sales work, in this order.
This work sits inside sales management. A target, a review routine and someone who owns the number.
Step 1
Sales audit
Find where deals are being lost and what to fix first.
Start here if you cannot say where orders are lost.
Step 2
Sales process design
One written way to sell, from first enquiry to repeat order.
Start here if every salesperson sells differently.
Step 3 · you are here
Sales management
A target, a review routine and someone who owns the number.
Start here if the team has targets and no routine.
