Your advertising works. Enquiries arrive through the form, the phone, WhatsApp and the marketplace panel. Then the trail goes cold. Somebody replied, or meant to. Somebody called once and did not get through. By the second attempt the buyer has spoken to two other suppliers. None of this is anyone's fault: enquiry handling sits between marketing and sales, and that space usually has no owner, no rule and no number attached to it.
Why it persists. A missed enquiry leaves no trace and no line in a report, so nobody is measured on it. It is also nobody's single job: whoever is free replies, in whatever words they choose. And when results dip, the advice a business usually hears is to generate more leads, so budget goes to the top of the funnel rather than the leak in the middle.
If it stays unresolved. The pattern hardens. Ad spend rises because it is the only lever anyone can pull, the sales team stops taking inbound seriously, and the enquiries that close are the ones that chased you hard enough to get through.
