Social community management · Marketing

The group has one member who talks and the rest muted it back in March.

A group is not a page. On a page you talk and people scroll past, and the worst that happens is nothing. In a group the members talk to each other, which is what makes it useful and what makes it go wrong on a Sunday evening.

In one paragraph

Social community management is the daily running of a group whose members talk to each other, such as a WhatsApp group, a Facebook group or a customer forum. GullySales moderates it, keeps it worth staying in, and steps in when one member takes over or a complaint is posted in front of everybody.

Three pages here look alike, so take the right one. Community marketing decides whether to build a group at all and fills it with the right people. Customer community management runs a group where every member has already bought, and the job there is keeping them.

This page is the moderating work itself, in a group on a social platform where buyers, customers and curious strangers sit together. Somebody from GullySales reads it every working day, answers what can be answered, moves arguments into private messages, and tells you what members are actually asking for.

The problem

Does this sound like your business?

What owners tell us on the first call, in their words.

  • One member has taken the group over

He answers every question before you do, sometimes wrongly, and the newer members have stopped asking anything because of it.

  • A customer complained where every member could read it

The complaint sat there while your team decided who should reply. Everyone else watched the silence and drew their own conclusion.

  • Nobody has posted since the launch offer

The last few messages are one person forwarding a good morning image. Members have muted the group, so your next real announcement will not be read.

  • People nobody invited have joined

The link was forwarded on, and there are now site visit offers in a group about hair care. Members leave quietly rather than complain about it.

What we do

Everything that is included.

Each deliverable, and what it gets you. Nothing here is an extra.

  1. Two lines of rules, pinned

What the group is for and what gets a member removed, agreed with you before anybody is told. A rulebook nobody reads protects nobody.

  2. Daily reading and replies

The group is read every working day, Monday to Saturday, and each question is answered or passed to the person who actually knows.

  3. A plan for the member who dominates

The one who answers everything is given a job rather than a warning, which keeps what he knows and lets the quieter members back in.

  4. Public complaints handled in public

A short, calm reply where the complaint was made, then the detail taken to a private message. Members need to see a real person replied, not read the whole file.

  5. Joining and removal

Who gets in, who checks them, and how an outsider is removed before the third property advertisement goes up.

  6. Prompts that get a reply

Questions written to start a conversation instead of announcing one, since a group where only the admin posts is a slow noticeboard.

  7. What members asked, every month

The recurring questions and grumbles written down for you, separated into what moderation can settle and what belongs to the product.

How the result is measured

  • Messages posted by members rather than by us
  • Time taken to answer a question inside the group
  • Complaints settled in the group against those taken private
  • Members joining and leaving each month
  • Enquiries that started as a group conversation

Recorded as a baseline before work starts, so every later report has an honest comparison.

Who it is for

This is written for you if these sound familiar.

  • A builder with a WhatsApp group of flat buyers, where one delay in the handover becomes forty messages by evening
  • Coaching centres and clinics whose parents or patients already have a group that nobody from the business reads
  • Brands with a Facebook group that filled up and then filled with property offers
  • Owners who answered every message themselves for a month and cannot keep doing it
  • A dealer or stockist group where the arguments are between members rather than with you

Not for

It is not the right fit if.

  • Businesses that want somewhere to post offers, where a broadcast list does the job and nobody has to be moderated
  • Owners who will not have a complaint answered in public, since that is the moment a group earns its keep
  • A brand with nobody to carry it past the first month, because a dead group is read as a dead business

How it works

From your first message to the first report.

No open-ended retainer. Each step has a point in time and something you receive.

  1. 01 · Day 1

    Free audit call

90 minutes with whoever handles your enquiries: how they arrive, how fast they are answered, where they are lost.

  2. 02 · After the call

    Written, scored report

Six areas scored, fixes ranked by return and cost. If you want our help, the scope, the fee and the reporting come with it, in writing.

  3. 03 · Before work starts

    Baseline recorded

Enquiries by source, reply time, conversion and cost per order, written down so every later month has an honest comparison.

  4. 04 · Month 1

    The first fix goes live

Usually the cheapest one on the report: reply time, a follow-up sequence or the marketing-to-sales handover.

  5. 05 · As agreed

    Report against the baseline

What moved, what did not, and what changes next, in plain words. How often you get it is set in writing before work starts.

  6. 06 · At the end of the term

    Renew on the numbers

The term ends and you decide whether to continue from the results. The length is agreed in writing before anything starts.

How the social community management work runs

  1. 1

    Read the history first

We scroll back through the group as it stands, which shows who talks, who left, and what the last argument was really about.

  2. 2

Decide what the group is for

Buyers waiting for possession and hobbyists who like the subject need different rules, different prompts and a different tone.

  3. 3

Write the rules and the escalation line

What gets answered in the group, what moves to a private message, and what reaches you before anyone replies at all.

  4. 4

    Moderate it daily

Reading, answering, welcoming new members and removing the ones who joined to sell something.

  5. 5

    Report what was said

Monthly: member activity, what was asked, what was complained about, and any enquiry that began as a conversation in the group.

Proof

What happened when owners fixed this.

Real clients, the work we did, and the result as it was recorded. Where no number was recorded, none is claimed.

Why us

Why owners pick GullySales over an agency.

  • Marketing and sales, as one job

Most agencies stop at the enquiry. We also fix what happens after it: the reply, the follow-up, the quote and the CRM.

  • The person on the first call does the work

No account managers in between. You are never handed to someone you have not met.

  • A baseline before anything starts

Your numbers are written down on day one, so every later report compares against something honest.

  • The fee in writing, split three ways

Our time, your media spend and production on separate lines. You always see what goes to us.

  • No guarantees we cannot keep

The term is agreed in writing and never a default twelve months. We never promise a ranking or a lead count, because nobody controls those.

  • One office, and we say so

Nagarbhavi, Bengaluru. We work across India by call and WhatsApp and travel when a session needs to be in person.

  4. Option 4

Guidance for your own team or agency

We plan, brief and check the work of your in-house team or current agency, instead of replacing them.

FAQ

Questions owners ask before they call.

Not here? More answers, or ask on WhatsApp.

How is this different from customer community management?
That page covers a group where every member has already bought from you, and the work is retention. This one covers a group on a social platform where customers, prospects and strangers are mixed together, which makes moderation and entry rules the bigger part of the job.
Should we start a group at all?
Only if somebody will read it every day for the next year. An abandoned group damages a brand more than never starting one, because a buyer who joins and finds three months of silence reads it as a business that gave up.
What do you do when a customer complains in front of everybody?
Answer briefly where it was posted, then take the detail into a private message. The public reply is not really for the complainant, it is for every other member reading it and deciding whether you answer.
One member dominates ours. How do you handle him?
Give him something to run instead of asking him to post less. A weekly question or a members' slot uses what he knows, and the quieter people return once the thread is not already answered before they open it.
Can this run on WhatsApp?
Yes, and most Indian groups are already there. It is a harder job than a forum. Every message lands as a notification on somebody's phone at night, so the rule about posting after nine matters more than the rule about tone.
How much does it cost?
There is no price list, because the work differs by business. The fee is scoped in the free audit and put in writing before anything starts, split into our time, your media spend and production.
How long is the contract?
The term is agreed in writing after the audit, along with the fee and the reporting. It is never a default twelve months, and renewal is decided on the numbers against the baseline recorded at the start.
How soon will we see results?
Fixes to reply time, follow-up and your Google Business Profile usually show in weeks, because the enquiries already exist. Ads show in days once follow-up is ready. SEO and content take months. The audit tells you which applies to you.
Who will actually do the work?
The person you meet on the audit call. We work from one office in Nagarbhavi, Bengaluru, with no account managers in between.
What do you need from us?
For the audit, last month's enquiries in any format and 90 minutes with whoever handles them. After that, access to the accounts the work touches, such as the website, Google Business Profile or CRM, and time for the monthly review.
