Cloud and DevOps service companies · Email marketing

Send the CTO the note about their problem, from an engineer they could call.

Email marketing for a cloud and DevOps firm is the short, useful mail that keeps you known to a CTO who is not ready yet, and to a client between projects. It rests on clear permission, a sender who can answer technical replies and lists split by cloud and trigger. GullySales builds that foundation first and then writes the few mails worth sending.

A 90-minute audit call and a written, scored report. Turnaround, reporting and term are agreed in writing after the audit.

What email marketing means

Email marketing is sending planned messages to a list of past and prospective customers who have agreed to hear from you. It suits offers, updates and staying in touch with someone who is not ready to buy yet. GullySales writes and schedules these emails and tracks who opens, clicks and enquires.

For cloud and DevOps service companies

Where it usually goes wrong, and what we would do.

  • “Project mails and marketing mails get mixed”

Maintenance notices and incident updates go to the same list as offers, so one unsubscribe can silence an outage alert.

  • “A newsletter of vendor news adds nothing”

Everyone on the list already gets the vendor's own announcements, and a roundup of them is the first mail a CTO deletes.

  • “The reply goes nowhere”

A prospect answers with a technical question and the reply lands in a shared inbox that nobody on the engineering team ever opens.

What we do

What we deliver for cloud and DevOps service companies.

Every deliverable, what it covers for you, and the result it is there to produce. Nothing here is an extra.

  1. A list with a recorded source for every address

Meet-up sign-up sheets, assessment forms, webinar registrations and client contacts kept as separate lists, each address tagged with where and when it was collected.

Result: Every mail has a reason to be in that inbox.

  2. A separate sending domain for marketing

A sub-domain with SPF, DKIM and DMARC set up so a spam complaint on a marketing mail never reaches the address that sends incident notices and invoices.

Result: Client-critical mail keeps landing in the inbox.

  3. A follow-up sequence after an assessment

Short notes from the engineer who ran it, covering what was found, one thing to fix this week, and an offer to walk through the report, written for people who have not yet signed.

Result: Prospects hear from you while the report is fresh.

  4. Vendor change alerts for clients

When a cloud vendor announces a price change or retires a service that a client uses, a short mail to that client naming the impact and the choices, with no offer attached.

Result: Clients see you as the team that watches the platform for them.

  5. A credits-ending note for start-ups

A two-line mail to start-ups on your list, with a link to a cost review, sent while their vendor credits are close to the end.

Result: The note arrives when the cost question is real.

  6. Replies routed to a named engineer

Every marketing mail has a reply path to a person who can answer a technical question and book the call, with the answer logged in the CRM.

Result: A reply gets answered by someone who can actually answer it.

How the result is measured

  • Open rate
  • Click rate
  • Enquiries from email

Recorded as a baseline before work starts, so every later report has an honest comparison.

What must be in place first

What a cloud and DevOps firm needs in place before a marketing mail goes out.

Where each address came from
Record the meet-up, form or webinar beside each contact. An address with no source, or one copied from a conference attendee list, should not receive offers.
Marketing permission, separate from project notices
Agreeing to maintenance and incident mail is not agreeing to offers. Keep the two lists apart and record the date marketing consent was given. Data protection law cares about purpose.
A marketing sub-domain, authenticated
Send marketing from its own sub-domain with SPF, DKIM and DMARC passing. A CTO will check the headers on a mail from an infrastructure firm.
Segments by cloud and trigger
Split by AWS, Azure or Google Cloud and by stage: evaluating, in migration, or client. A mail about commitment plans means nothing to a team that has not started.
A sender who can answer
Send from a named engineer or account lead whose address reaches a real person. Plain text, short, no banner image.
An unsubscribe that works in both systems
Honour it in the mail tool and the CRM on the same day. Keep outage and maintenance notices on a list of their own so an unsubscribe never blocks them.

Not for

It is not the right fit if.

  • You want a guaranteed Google ranking or a guaranteed number of leads. Nobody honest can promise either.
  • You need enquiries by next week and have nobody to answer them.
  • You want posts and reach reported, not enquiries and orders.

How it works

From your first message to the first report.

No open-ended retainer. Every step gives you something in writing.

  1. First

    Free audit call

90 minutes with whoever handles your enquiries: how they arrive, how fast they are answered, where they are lost.

  2. After the call

    Written, scored report

Six areas scored, fixes ranked by return and cost. If you want our help, the scope, the fee and the reporting come with it, in writing.

  3. Before work starts

    Baseline recorded

Enquiries by source, reply time, conversion and cost per order, written down so every later report has an honest comparison.

  4. After the baseline

    The first fix goes live

Usually the cheapest one on the report: reply time, a follow-up sequence or the marketing-to-sales handover.

  5. As agreed

    Report against the baseline

What moved, what did not, and what changes next, in plain words. How often you get it is set in writing before work starts.

  6. At renewal

    Renew on the numbers

The term ends and you decide whether to continue from the results. The length is agreed in writing before anything starts.

How the work runs for cloud and DevOps service companies

  1. 1

    Assess

In the free audit we trace where your last projects came from, how fast enquiries get a reply, what happens after an assessment is delivered and how renewals of retainers are handled.

  2. 2

    Define the offers

One named assessment, a project scope with assumptions and a retainer you can describe on a single page, each with a proposal format the person who signs can read without a call.

  3. 3

    Be found at the trigger

Pages, ads, listings and vendor and investor routes aimed at the bill, the exit, the resignation and the audit, which are the events that start a search.

  4. 4

    Follow up to signature

Assessments booked, reports presented, proposals chased on dates fixed when they are sent, and prospects with a known decision date called before it.

  5. 5

Convert the project into a retainer

A run-and-support proposal built during each project and reviewed with the client before go-live, with the outcome read against the baseline.

Why us

Why owners pick GullySales over an agency.

  • Marketing and sales, as one job

Most agencies stop at the enquiry. We also fix what happens after it: the reply, the follow-up, the quote and the CRM.

  • The person on the first call does the work

No account managers in between. You are never handed to someone you have not met.

  • A baseline before anything starts

Your numbers are written down on day one, so every later report compares against something honest.

  • The fee in writing, split three ways

Our time, your media spend and production on separate lines. You always see what goes to us.

  • No guarantees we cannot keep

The term is agreed in writing and never a default twelve months. We never promise a ranking or a lead count, because nobody controls those.

  • One office, and we say so

Nagarbhavi, Bengaluru. We work across India by call and WhatsApp and travel when a session needs to be in person.

#257, 3rd floor, Sri Nanjundeshwara Complex, Nagarbhavi 8th Block, Outer Ring Road. How we work.

FAQ

Questions owners ask before they call.

Not here? More answers, or ask on WhatsApp.

Can we mail the attendees of a meet-up we sponsored?
Not unless they agreed to hear from sponsors, which the organiser has to confirm in writing. A badge scan where the person knew what it was for is better. If in doubt, send one personal mail to people you actually spoke to.
Should we run a newsletter or send one-to-one mails?
One-to-one first. A short note from an engineer about a problem that prospect has is read. Start a newsletter only if you can say something useful every time, such as what a vendor change means for a typical Indian start-up, and keep it brief.
Why do our proposal mails land in spam?
Check SPF, DKIM and DMARC on the domain that sends them, and whether bulk mail uses the same domain. Large attachments and shortened links also trip filters. Send proposals from a person's own mailbox, and put the document behind a link you control.
Is it fine to send security advisories to clients as marketing?
Send them as service notices, plainly, with no offer in the same mail. If a client later wants help with the fix, they will reply. Mixing the two teaches clients to ignore the next advisory.
Should we give the assessment away or charge for it?
Limit what you give away. An open-ended free assessment costs a senior engineer days and often ends with the prospect doing the work alone. Many firms charge a small fee and credit it against the project, or offer a free first look with a fixed scope. Write down which, so every salesperson says the same.
Are we competing with the cloud vendor's own team?
Mostly not. Vendor teams usually want partners who bring projects and keep customers running on their platform. Funding and co-sell rules change often, so read the vendor's current partner terms and ask your partner manager what they send to firms like yours.
How long is the contract?
The term is agreed in writing after the audit, along with the fee and the reporting. It is never a default twelve months, and renewal is decided on the numbers against the baseline recorded at the start.
How soon will we see results?
Fixes to reply time, follow-up and your Google Business Profile are the quickest to show, because the enquiries already exist. Ads can follow soon after follow-up is in place. SEO and content take longer. How long each takes depends on your business, and the audit tells you which applies to you. Nothing here is guaranteed.
Who will actually do the work?
The person you meet on the audit call. We work from one office in Nagarbhavi, Bengaluru, with no account managers in between.
What do you need from us?
For the audit, last month's enquiries in any format and 90 minutes with whoever handles them. After that, access to the accounts the work touches, such as the website, Google Business Profile or CRM, and time for the review meetings.
