E-commerce · Automotive Parts
Our filters and belts are right, but the buyer cannot tell which engine they are for.
Two cars that look the same on the road can carry different engines, and the filter for one will not screw onto the other. A petrol hatchback and its diesel sibling share a body, a name and a showroom, and almost none of the engine parts. The buyer knows this and is nervous about it.
A 90-minute audit call and a written, scored report. Turnaround, reporting and term are agreed in writing after the audit.
In one paragraph
Engine parts e-commerce is the online sale of service items and internal parts such as oil and air filters, spark plugs, timing belts, gaskets, water pumps and sensors, each matched to an engine as well as a car. GullySales builds engine-level fitment pages and a service-kit offer for owners and workshops.
Most of what sells here is routine. Filters, plugs, belts, coolant hoses and gasket sets are bought at a service, usually in a bundle, and the sale is decided by whether the page lists the whole set for that car.
Last updated 7 Oct 2026. Product, labelling and advertising rules for automotive parts differ by product and change. We describe them in general terms, so check the current position with your own adviser or the regulator before you publish a claim.
Who it is for
This is written for you if you sell engine parts online.
- Sellers of service kits and filters for popular Indian hatchbacks, sedans and SUVs
- Distributors of spark plugs, belts and gaskets who sell to workshops and also direct
- Rebuilders and sellers of pistons, rings and gasket sets for older diesel engines
- Sellers of sensors and pumps who get returns because the connector or the engine code was wrong
Not for
It is not the right fit if.
- Sellers of engine assemblies or long blocks only. Those are bought by trade through a phone call, and a catalogue page will not change that.
- Anyone selling parts they cannot match to an engine code. Variants will keep going wrong.
How buyers choose
What decides the sale of engine parts.
Engine code and fuel type
The buyer or the mechanic reads the engine code, capacity and fuel from the registration papers or the engine bay plate. A petrol 1.2 and a petrol 1.0 of the same model take different plugs and sometimes different belts.
The service kit
At a service the buyer wants the oil filter, air filter, cabin filter and plugs together. A page that sells them as one kit for that car, with every part listed, is easier to say yes to than five separate listings.
Brand against price
A timing belt is a part nobody wants to fail, so brand matters more than on a wiper blade. Buyers compare the maker, the pack and the price, and look for the batch label.
The garage's habit
A workshop buys the brand it has always fitted. Getting onto a mechanic's regular list, with delivery the same day in town, counts for more than ranking on search.
Where sales are lost
What usually goes wrong when you sell engine parts online.
In the words sellers use on the first call.
“A buyer ordered the diesel filter for a petrol car”
The listing named the model and the year but not the fuel. Fuel type and engine capacity belong in the title and in a required field before checkout.
“Our timing belt kits are not found”
Buyers search for a timing belt kit with the car name, or for a belt by the number of teeth and the width. A page carrying only a brand name matches neither.
“People say our oil filter is a copy”
Oil filters and plugs are among the most copied small parts. A page that shows the real pack, the hologram or batch details, and who the authorised sellers are, answers the worry before the buyer asks.
“Workshops buy one filter and never come back”
A single sale at a retail price teaches the garage nothing about you. A trade price for the full kit and a regular delivery run give the garage a reason to call you first.
The scope
The work we would propose for engine parts.
Measured on purchases and, for trade buyers, qualified enquiries, quotation requests and repeat orders. Anything here that needs a platform or tool we have not used with you is confirmed in the audit before it goes in the scope.
- Engine-level fitment pagesPages by engine code and fuel type, so a petrol and a diesel version of one model never share a table. Each lists the filters, plugs, belts and gaskets that belong to that engine.
- Service kit listingsKits assembled by car and service interval, with a line for each part inside, offered at the cart next to the single filter the buyer came for.
- Workshop price list on WhatsAppA catalogue and trade price list that a garage can open on WhatsApp, with a reorder message that repeats the garage's previous kit without retyping the list.
- Search for part numbersThe manufacturer's number and the common aftermarket numbers on each page, since mechanics search those and not product names.
Authenticity page
A page showing the genuine pack against a copy, how to read the batch and date mark, and which sellers are authorised. What you may say about the brand is checked with the brand owner.
What we do
What you get for engine parts.
Each deliverable and what it is there to change.
An engine-code fitment sheet
Each engine, its capacity and fuel, and the parts that go with it. It is the master for every page and for the person answering enquiries.
A service kit for each popular car
A kit page with the part list, the brand of each part and the interval it is bought at. It raises the number of parts in one order.
A genuine-pack comparison page
Photographs and short notes on spotting a copy of the part you sell. It is the page you send when a buyer messages with doubt.
A garage reorder message
A WhatsApp template that lists last order and asks to repeat it. It shortens the garage's second order.
How the result is measured
- Purchases and conversion rate
- Average order value, which shows whether kits are working
- Qualified enquiries from garages
- Repeat orders
- Return rate
- Returns for wrong engine
Recorded as a baseline before work starts, so every later report has an honest comparison.

- Your listing links and your engine-wise parts list
- The service kits you already sell, even if they are packed by hand
- Photographs of packs, labels and hologram details
- The returns from the last few months with the reason for each
- A list of garages that buy from you regularly
Selling in India and abroad
Selling engine parts beyond your own market.
Where you sell decides sizes, units, seasons and returns. We work from Bengaluru and have no overseas office, so for a new country we start from your own sales and the platforms you already use.
Engines differ by market
The engine in an Indian-built car is not always the engine in the same model abroad, and the same name can hide a different capacity. Each page for an overseas buyer is checked against that market's version.
Fuel quality and emission specification
Parts such as sensors and plugs depend on the fuel and emission setup of the market. Whether a part suits a country is for the buyer's importer to confirm.
