People like the cap in the photo but cannot tell if it will sit right on their head.

A cap is a fit and a look. The buyer wants to know whether it is adjustable, how deep the crown is, whether the peak is flat or curved, and whether the colour will suit them, none of which a flat product photograph shows.

A 90-minute audit call and a written, scored report. Turnaround, reporting and term are agreed in writing after the audit.

In one paragraph

Hats and caps e-commerce is the online sale of baseball caps, sun hats, bucket hats, beanies, formal hats and custom-printed team or brand caps. GullySales works on how your listings handle head size and adjustment, how the cap looks on different faces, and how bulk and custom orders reach you as proper enquiries.

There is a second customer next to the first: the business, school, club or event team that wants fifty printed caps. They search differently, ask for a quote, and are lost when the seller treats them like a single-piece buyer.

Who it is for

This is written for you if you sell hats & caps online.

  • Street and sportswear brands selling snapbacks, dad caps and bucket hats
  • Custom printing and embroidery workshops taking bulk orders for teams and companies
  • Sellers of winter beanies and sun hats who see sales in short seasons
  • Marketplace sellers with a catalogue of plain caps in many colours

Not for

It is not the right fit if.

  • A seller of printed caps that carry another brand's logo without permission
  • A custom printing shop that cannot quote a minimum order or a delivery date

How buyers choose

What decides the sale of hats & caps.

  1. Head size and the strap

Adjustable back, fitted sizes, elastic bands. The buyer reads the circumference range in centimetres and checks reviews for "too tight" and "too loose".

  2. The shape of the crown and peak

Structured or soft, flat or curved brim, high or low profile. Photographs from the front, side and top let a buyer judge it without trying it on.

  3. Fabric for the weather

Mesh back for heat, wool for cold, cotton twill for everyday, waterproof for rain. A buyer in Chennai and a buyer in Shimla want different caps from the same range.

  4. Print, embroidery and minimum order

For custom caps, the buyer asks about logo placement, thread colours, artwork format, the least number you will make and when they get it.

Where sales are lost

What usually goes wrong when you sell hats & caps online.

In the words sellers use on the first call.

  • “Customers say the cap is too tight”

Many caps are labelled free size, but fit is judged by head circumference and nobody states it. The return arrives with a review that stops other buyers.

  • “Bulk enquiries come in on WhatsApp and go cold”

A club secretary asks for forty caps with a logo. You send a price on a photo with no artwork proof, and they order from the shop that sent a mock-up.

  • “Winter caps sell for six weeks and then sit in stock”

Beanies and woollen caps sell when the temperature falls. Ads that start late or run too long burn through margin, and unsold stock waits a full year.

What we do

What you get for hats & caps.

Each deliverable and what it is there to change.

  1. A head measurement guide with a printable tape

A page showing how to measure head circumference with a cloth tape or a string, with a size table in centimetres and inches.

  2. A custom cap enquiry form

Fields for quantity, artwork, placement, colours and date, plus a note on the lowest order you will take.

  3. A digital mock-up routine

A way to send a free artwork proof on the cap before the buyer pays, which shortens the back and forth.

  4. A seasonal ad plan by cap type

Which caps get paid campaigns in which weeks, based on your past sales and the weather in your top cities.

How the result is measured

  • Purchases
  • Conversion rate
  • Customer acquisition cost
  • Return rate
  • Bulk quotation requests
  • Bulk orders won

Recorded as a baseline before work starts, so every later report has an honest comparison.

How it works

From your first message to the first report.

No open-ended retainer. Every step gives you something in writing.

  1. First

    Free audit call

90 minutes with whoever handles your enquiries: how they arrive, how fast they are answered, where they are lost.

  2. After the call

    Written, scored report

Six areas scored, fixes ranked by return and cost. If you want our help, the scope, the fee and the reporting come with it, in writing.

  3. Before work starts

    Baseline recorded

Enquiries by source, reply time, conversion and cost per order, written down so every later report has an honest comparison.

  4. After the baseline

    The first fix goes live

Usually the cheapest one on the report: reply time, a follow-up sequence or the marketing-to-sales handover.

  5. As agreed

    Report against the baseline

What moved, what did not, and what changes next, in plain words. How often you get it is set in writing before work starts.

  6. At renewal

    Renew on the numbers

The term ends and you decide whether to continue from the results. The length is agreed in writing before anything starts.

What we need from you

What to have ready before the audit call.

None of it has to be tidy. We read what you have.

  • Your cap styles, fabrics and the sizes each one fits
  • Past bulk enquiries and what happened to them
  • Customer returns and the reasons given
  • Examples of your embroidery or printing, with photographs of finished work
  • Last year's sales by month for hats, beanies and caps

Selling in India and abroad

Selling hats & caps beyond your own market.

Where you sell decides sizes, units, seasons and returns. We work from Bengaluru and have no overseas office, so for a new country we start from your own sales and the platforms you already use.

  1. Hat sizes in other markets

Fitted caps abroad follow US hat sizes or head circumference in centimetres. Adjustable caps travel better, so lead with those if you sell outside India.

  2. Event and club orders

A cricket club or a company abroad may buy printed caps from India for a tournament or a conference. That is a quotation job, with artwork, freight and a firm date, handled outside any marketplace.

FAQ

Questions about selling hats & caps online.

Not here? More answers, or ask on WhatsApp.

How do I stop customers returning caps for fit?
Give the head circumference range and tell them how to measure. Add a photograph of the adjustable strap at its loosest and tightest. Return reasons from the last two seasons show which styles need this first.
Can I take custom cap orders from a normal online store?
You can, but a standard checkout cannot take artwork and a quantity. A separate quote form is cleaner and keeps the bulk buyer out of the single-piece cart. We set up the form and the reply routine.
When should I start advertising beanies?
A few weeks before the first cold spell in the cities where your orders come from, not before. Your sales dates from last winter tell us when. We stop the spend once the weather turns and stock runs thin.
How much does it cost?
There is no price list, because the work differs by business. The fee is scoped in the free audit and put in writing before anything starts, split into our time, your media spend and production.
How long is the contract?
The term is agreed in writing after the audit, along with the fee and the reporting. It is never a default twelve months, and renewal is decided on the numbers against the baseline recorded at the start.
How soon will we see results?
Fixes to reply time, follow-up and your Google Business Profile are the quickest to show, because the enquiries already exist. Ads can follow soon after follow-up is in place. SEO and content take longer. How long each takes depends on your business, and the audit tells you which applies to you. Nothing here is guaranteed.
Who will actually do the work?
The person you meet on the audit call. We work from one office in Nagarbhavi, Bengaluru, with no account managers in between.
What do you need from us?
For the audit, last month's enquiries in any format and 90 minutes with whoever handles them. After that, access to the accounts the work touches, such as the website, Google Business Profile or CRM, and time for the review meetings.

Why us

Why owners pick GullySales over an agency.

  • Marketing and sales, as one job

Most agencies stop at the enquiry. We also fix what happens after it: the reply, the follow-up, the quote and the CRM.

  • The person on the first call does the work

No account managers in between. You are never handed to someone you have not met.

  • A baseline before anything starts

Your numbers are written down on day one, so every later report compares against something honest.

  • The fee in writing, split three ways

Our time, your media spend and production on separate lines. You always see what goes to us.

  • No guarantees we cannot keep

The term is agreed in writing and never a default twelve months. We never promise a ranking or a lead count, because nobody controls those.

  • One office, and we say so

Nagarbhavi, Bengaluru. We work across India by call and WhatsApp and travel when a session needs to be in person.
