E-commerce · Party & Celebration Supplies

The backdrop in the photograph covers a wall, and what arrives covers a doorway.

Decorations are chosen from pictures on Instagram and YouTube. Hosts arrive with a photograph of the finished room and want your listing to give them that room. What kills the sale is a gap between the two: the banner is smaller, the backdrop is flimsy, the lights need a plug point at the wrong place.

A 90-minute audit call and a written, scored report. Turnaround, reporting and term are agreed in writing after the audit.

In one paragraph

Party decoration e-commerce covers banners, backdrops, fairy lights, cake toppers, tassels, curtains and themed decoration kits for birthdays, baby showers, anniversaries and housewarmings, bought by hosts who need the room to look like the picture. GullySales works on size and set-up information on every listing, on theme collections, and on the way a host finds you before the party and returns before the next one.

Set-up is where hosts get anxious. Putting up a ceiling of streamers for a first birthday is a Friday-night job with one pair of hands, and the host wants to know it is possible.

Who it is for

This is written for you if you sell decorations online.

  • Sellers of birthday, baby shower and anniversary decoration kits
  • Sellers of backdrops, curtains, cake toppers and banners
  • Fairy light and string light sellers who supply decorators and homes
  • Home decorators who sell packaged setups to parents in a city

Not for

It is not the right fit if.

  • A seller whose product photographs show a professional setup the kit cannot make
  • A shop that cannot say what size anything is

How buyers choose

What decides the sale of decorations.

  1. Theme and the matching items

Jungle, unicorn, space, floral, boho. The buyer looks for one theme across banner, backdrop, topper and balloons so that everything matches.

  2. Size on the wall

Width and height in feet, shown against a wall or a door. A backdrop that covers a ten-foot wall and one that covers a doorway are different products.

  3. Material and reuse

Paper, foil, fabric, acrylic. The buyer asks whether it tears, whether it can be used again and whether it needs a frame or a stand.

  4. Lights and power

String and fairy lights need a plug or batteries. The buyer asks the length, the colour of the light and whether it is safe near children.

Where sales are lost

What usually goes wrong when you sell decorations online.

In the words sellers use on the first call.

  • “The photograph is a studio set-up and customers feel cheated”

The product listing shows a styled room with extras that are not in the kit. The buyer counts the pieces on arrival and writes the review.

  • “Hosts want a decorator, not a kit”

A parent who is short of time asks whether you do the set-up too. If the site offers only products, that buyer goes to a local decorator.

  • “Same designs are on twenty listings at lower prices”

Decoration is easy to copy. A listing with the same picture and a lower price wins unless yours shows something more.

The scope

The work we would propose for decorations.

Measured on purchases, conversion rate, cost to win a customer, average order value and repeat purchases. Anything here that needs a platform or tool we have not used with you is confirmed in the audit before it goes in the scope.

What we do

What you get for decorations.

Each deliverable and what it is there to change.

  1. A size-against-wall image

A picture of each backdrop and banner in a real room with its width and height, so the host knows what it covers.

  2. A kit contents list for each theme

Every piece, with the number of each, and the items the host must supply, such as tape, a stand or a plug.

  3. A set-up video

A short film of one kit going up in a home, shot in one take.

  4. A page for customer photographs

Photographs from real parties, grouped by theme, with the buyer's permission.

How the result is measured

  • Purchases
  • Conversion rate
  • Average order value
  • Customer acquisition cost
  • Repeat purchase rate
  • Returns citing size or missing pieces

Recorded as a baseline before work starts, so every later report has an honest comparison.

How it works

From your first message to the first report.

No open-ended retainer. Every step gives you something in writing.

  1. First

    Free audit call

90 minutes with whoever handles your enquiries: how they arrive, how fast they are answered, where they are lost.

  2. After the call

    Written, scored report

Six areas scored, fixes ranked by return and cost. If you want our help, the scope, the fee and the reporting come with it, in writing.

  3. Before work starts

    Baseline recorded

Enquiries by source, reply time, conversion and cost per order, written down so every later report has an honest comparison.

  4. After the baseline

    The first fix goes live

Usually the cheapest one on the report: reply time, a follow-up sequence or the marketing-to-sales handover.

  5. As agreed

    Report against the baseline

What moved, what did not, and what changes next, in plain words. How often you get it is set in writing before work starts.

  6. At renewal

    Renew on the numbers

The term ends and you decide whether to continue from the results. The length is agreed in writing before anything starts.

What we need from you

What to have ready before the audit call.

None of it has to be tidy. We read what you have.

  • Your decoration listings and your best-selling themes
  • Reviews that mention size, set-up or missing items
  • Whether you or a partner offer set-up
  • Your Instagram and YouTube accounts
  • Competitor listings that copy yours

Selling in India and abroad

Selling decorations beyond your own market.

Where you sell decides sizes, units, seasons and returns. We work from Bengaluru and have no overseas office, so for a new country we start from your own sales and the platforms you already use.

  1. Indian families abroad

Families in the Gulf, the UK and the US plan birthdays and baby showers with Indian themes and look for decorations they cannot buy locally. Fairy lights, backdrops and toppers are light enough to send.

  2. Plugs and flame rules

Electric lights follow the plug and voltage of the country, and some countries have rules on flammable decorations. The shipper and adviser check these before overseas orders.

FAQ

Questions about selling decorations online.

Not here? More answers, or ask on WhatsApp.

How do I describe the size of a backdrop?
Give width and height in feet, and show it on a wall with a door or a person beside it. A number alone does not help a host who cannot picture a ten-foot wall.
Should I offer decoration set-up as a service?
If you can do it well in your city, yes, as a separate page. Many parents will pay to skip the Friday-night job, and it is an order a kit seller does not get.
How do I stand out when everyone sells the same designs?
Show what the others do not: size against a wall, a content list, photographs from real homes. A buyer who can see the room is less moved by a lower price.
How much does it cost?
There is no price list, because the work differs by business. The fee is scoped in the free audit and put in writing before anything starts, split into our time, your media spend and production.
How long is the contract?
The term is agreed in writing after the audit, along with the fee and the reporting. It is never a default twelve months, and renewal is decided on the numbers against the baseline recorded at the start.
How soon will we see results?
Fixes to reply time, follow-up and your Google Business Profile are the quickest to show, because the enquiries already exist. Ads can follow soon after follow-up is in place. SEO and content take longer. How long each takes depends on your business, and the audit tells you which applies to you. Nothing here is guaranteed.
Who will actually do the work?
The person you meet on the audit call. We work from one office in Nagarbhavi, Bengaluru, with no account managers in between.
What do you need from us?
For the audit, last month's enquiries in any format and 90 minutes with whoever handles them. After that, access to the accounts the work touches, such as the website, Google Business Profile or CRM, and time for the review meetings.
What if we are not happy with the work?
Tell us and the plan changes. Everything is reported against the baseline, so a number that is not moving is visible to both sides. The term is in your written scope, and the refund and cancellation policy sets out the rest.

Why us

Why owners pick GullySales over an agency.

  • Marketing and sales, as one job

Most agencies stop at the enquiry. We also fix what happens after it: the reply, the follow-up, the quote and the CRM.

  • The person on the first call does the work

No account managers in between. You are never handed to someone you have not met.

  • A baseline before anything starts

Your numbers are written down on day one, so every later report compares against something honest.

  • The fee in writing, split three ways

Our time, your media spend and production on separate lines. You always see what goes to us.

  • No guarantees we cannot keep

The term is agreed in writing and never a default twelve months. We never promise a ranking or a lead count, because nobody controls those.

  • One office, and we say so

Nagarbhavi, Bengaluru. We work across India by call and WhatsApp and travel when a session needs to be in person.
