E-commerce · Party & Celebration Supplies

Nobody knows how many plates they need, and the pack sizes do not help them.

The buyer is doing arithmetic. Twenty-five guests, two plates each, three cups, a napkin with every snack. The listing says pack of ten and pack of twenty-five, with no idea of what a party needs. They buy too few, order again and pay for delivery twice, or give up and walk to the supplier near home.

A 90-minute audit call and a written, scored report. Turnaround, reporting and term are agreed in writing after the audit.

In one paragraph

Party tableware e-commerce is the online sale of disposable and reusable plates, cups, napkins, cutlery, straws and serving ware, in plain and themed sets, to hosts, caterers and small event businesses. GullySales works on listings that calculate quantity per guest, that say what the material can hold, and on the repeat orders that caterers and cloud kitchens place if you make it easy.

There is also the question of what the plate can hold. A paper plate under a plate of biryani is a different thing from one under a slice of cake.

Who it is for

This is written for you if you sell party tableware online.

  • Sellers of themed paper plates, cups and napkin sets for children's birthdays
  • Wholesalers of disposable cutlery, areca-leaf plates and bowls selling online
  • Suppliers of reusable party ware to caterers and home hosts
  • Cloud kitchens and small caterers who need plates and containers in bulk

Not for

It is not the right fit if.

  • A seller who calls plates leak-proof or microwave-safe without testing them
  • A shop that cannot give the buyer the dimensions and the capacity of what it sells

How buyers choose

What decides the sale of party tableware.

  1. Plates and cups per guest

The buyer wants a recommended number for a given count of guests, with spare. A pack that arrives short on the party day is the worst outcome.

  2. Material, size and strength

Paper, areca leaf, bagasse, plastic, melamine. The buyer asks about the diameter, how thick it is and whether it takes hot, wet or oily food.

  3. Matching sets

The theme on the plate must match the cup, napkin and banner. A seller who offers the full matched set wins against one who offers each alone.

  4. Disposable or reusable, and what goes to the bin

Hosts and caterers ask whether the material is compostable and whether it is accepted for bulk disposal. The listing should say only what the maker can show.

Where sales are lost

What usually goes wrong when you sell party tableware online.

In the words sellers use on the first call.

  • “Buyers order too few and blame us”

A pack of ten for a party of twenty is a complaint with no fault in the product, only in the page.

  • “Plates go soft under wet food”

A paper plate meant for cake is used for curry. The listing never said, and the review does.

  • “Caterers want a price list, not a basket”

Bulk buyers want per-piece prices at quantity, GST invoices and a delivery slot. A retail listing makes them call.

What we do

What you get for party tableware.

Each deliverable and what it is there to change.

  1. A guest-count table

A simple table for ten, twenty-five, fifty and a hundred guests, with how many of each item to order.

  2. A plate and cup specification sheet

Diameter, depth, material and best use for each item, so the buyer does not pick the wrong plate.

  3. A theme set page

A matched set with the quantities for a standard party and a button to add all.

  4. A caterer price list

Quantity bands, GST invoice details and delivery terms in one document.

How the result is measured

  • Purchases
  • Conversion rate
  • Average order value
  • Customer acquisition cost
  • Repeat purchase rate
  • Repeat orders from caterers

Recorded as a baseline before work starts, so every later report has an honest comparison.

How it works

From your first message to the first report.

No open-ended retainer. Every step gives you something in writing.

  1. First

    Free audit call

90 minutes with whoever handles your enquiries: how they arrive, how fast they are answered, where they are lost.

  2. After the call

    Written, scored report

Six areas scored, fixes ranked by return and cost. If you want our help, the scope, the fee and the reporting come with it, in writing.

  3. Before work starts

    Baseline recorded

Enquiries by source, reply time, conversion and cost per order, written down so every later report has an honest comparison.

  4. After the baseline

    The first fix goes live

Usually the cheapest one on the report: reply time, a follow-up sequence or the marketing-to-sales handover.

  5. As agreed

    Report against the baseline

What moved, what did not, and what changes next, in plain words. How often you get it is set in writing before work starts.

  6. At renewal

    Renew on the numbers

The term ends and you decide whether to continue from the results. The length is agreed in writing before anything starts.

What we need from you

What to have ready before the audit call.

None of it has to be tidy. We read what you have.

  • Your tableware range with dimensions and materials
  • Orders that came back as too few or the wrong type
  • Your biggest bulk buyers
  • Photographs of the material and the pack
  • Your marketplace listings and reviews

Selling in India and abroad

Selling party tableware beyond your own market.

Where you sell decides sizes, units, seasons and returns. We work from Bengaluru and have no overseas office, so for a new country we start from your own sales and the platforms you already use.

  1. Light but bulky

Tableware weighs little and takes space, so freight can cost more than the goods. Overseas orders suit a few specialty items, such as areca-leaf ware for Indian weddings abroad, sold to a community.

  2. Food-contact rules

Items that touch food are subject to rules that differ by country. Your adviser and shipper confirm what you may claim and send, before the listing goes up.

FAQ

Questions about selling party tableware online.

Not here? More answers, or ask on WhatsApp.

How many plates should I tell a customer to buy?
Give a rule on the page, such as two plates and three cups a guest plus a spare share, and let the calculator do it. Hosts trust a seller who tells them the number.
Should I sell loose items or sets?
Both. Sets for hosts who want a theme, loose packs for caterers who buy the same plate again and again. The two audiences should not share a page.
Can I call my plates eco-friendly?
Only as far as the maker can show. Say what the plate is made of and how it is made. What counts as compostable or biodegradable is checked with your adviser before a claim goes up.
How much does it cost?
There is no price list, because the work differs by business. The fee is scoped in the free audit and put in writing before anything starts, split into our time, your media spend and production.
How long is the contract?
The term is agreed in writing after the audit, along with the fee and the reporting. It is never a default twelve months, and renewal is decided on the numbers against the baseline recorded at the start.
How soon will we see results?
Fixes to reply time, follow-up and your Google Business Profile are the quickest to show, because the enquiries already exist. Ads can follow soon after follow-up is in place. SEO and content take longer. How long each takes depends on your business, and the audit tells you which applies to you. Nothing here is guaranteed.
Who will actually do the work?
The person you meet on the audit call. We work from one office in Nagarbhavi, Bengaluru, with no account managers in between.
What do you need from us?
For the audit, last month's enquiries in any format and 90 minutes with whoever handles them. After that, access to the accounts the work touches, such as the website, Google Business Profile or CRM, and time for the review meetings.
What if we are not happy with the work?
Tell us and the plan changes. Everything is reported against the baseline, so a number that is not moving is visible to both sides. The term is in your written scope, and the refund and cancellation policy sets out the rest.

Our time, your media spend and production on separate lines. You always see what goes to us.

  • No guarantees we cannot keep

The term is agreed in writing and never a default twelve months. We never promise a ranking or a lead count, because nobody controls those.
