GullySales

E-commerce · Skincare

My legs go ashy by December, and I buy whichever lotion smells nice and comes in a big bottle.

Body products are bought in volume and judged on scent and feel. The buyer opens the bottle in the bathroom each morning, so a lotion that smells wrong or takes ten minutes to sink in is not bought again.

A 90-minute audit call and a written, scored report. Turnaround, reporting and term are agreed in writing after the audit.

In one paragraph

Body skincare is body lotions, butters, washes, scrubs, hand and foot creams and lip and underarm care, bought in larger bottles for the whole family and used up quickly. GullySales works on the fragrance, feel and size choices that drive body product orders, on the winter peak, and on the refill and pack offers that keep a household buying from one brand.

The category is also seasonal and shared. Winter brings the rush in the north, a bottle is used by two or three people, and the buyer thinks in sizes and packs rather than a single pot.

Last updated 7 Oct 2026. Product, labelling and advertising rules for skincare differ by product and change. We describe them in general terms, so check the current position with your own adviser or the regulator before you publish a claim.

Who it is for

This is written for you if you sell body skincare online.

  • Brands selling body lotions and butters in large bottles and tubs
  • Sellers of body washes and scrubs in the bath and shower range
  • Brands with hand, foot and lip care that sell well as add-ons or gifts
  • Natural and ayurvedic body-care brands selling on their own store and Instagram

Not for

It is not the right fit if.

  • A seller who wants to say a product removes stretch marks, whitens skin or treats a skin condition
  • A brand that claims a body product is safe in pregnancy or for babies without its adviser's confirmation

How buyers choose

What decides the sale of body skincare.

  1. Scent and feel

Fragrance-free or a named scent, light or rich, sticky or sinking in. Buyers read reviews for the smell and whether it lingers or fades in an hour.

  2. Size, pump and cost per use

A large bottle with a pump suits a household, and a refill pouch is cheaper per use. Buyers compare price per ml across marketplace listings.

  3. Dry, rough and cracked skin

Elbows, knees and heels are the areas people talk about. They look for a product made for the part they have in mind, in words that are not medical.

  4. Who in the family uses it

A shared bottle for a family, a gift for a parent, a lotion for a man who will not use a scented one. The buyer often chooses for someone else.

Where sales are lost

What usually goes wrong when you sell body skincare online.

In the words sellers use on the first call.

  • “Orders pile up in November and December and then stop”

A lotion with one season loses a buyer who found a different one in spring, and nothing was sent to them in between.

  • “The big bottle comes dented or leaking”

A heavy bottle with a loose pump is the common return. It happens on the marketplace first and a review follows.

  • “People love the smell and say it is too strong”

Scent splits buyers sharply. A listing that does not describe it helps neither the person who wants it nor the one who does not.

The scope

The work we would propose for body skincare.

Measured on purchases, conversion rate, cost to win a customer, average order value and repeat purchases. Anything here that needs a platform or tool we have not used with you is confirmed in the audit before it goes in the scope.

What we do

What you get for body skincare.

Each deliverable and what it is there to change.

  1. A scent and feel guide

Each product with its scent described, the feel after use and who it suits, including a fragrance-free option.

  2. A size and refill table

Bottle, family size and refill pouch with price per use, shown so the buyer can see the saving.

  3. A winter plan by region

When each region's cold begins, what is pushed and when stock must be ready to ship.

  4. A gift set page

Sets for festivals and birthdays with what is inside, a note option and a last date for delivery.

How the result is measured

  • Purchases
  • Conversion rate
  • Average order value
  • Customer acquisition cost
  • Repeat purchase rate
  • Returns for damage and leaks

Recorded as a baseline before work starts, so every later report has an honest comparison.

How it works

From your first message to the first report.

No open-ended retainer. Every step gives you something in writing.

  1. First

    Free audit call

90 minutes with whoever handles your enquiries: how they arrive, how fast they are answered, where they are lost.

  2. After the call

    Written, scored report

Six areas scored, fixes ranked by return and cost. If you want our help, the scope, the fee and the reporting come with it, in writing.

  3. Before work starts

    Baseline recorded

Enquiries by source, reply time, conversion and cost per order, written down so every later report has an honest comparison.

  4. After the baseline

    The first fix goes live

Usually the cheapest one on the report: reply time, a follow-up sequence or the marketing-to-sales handover.

  5. As agreed

    Report against the baseline

What moved, what did not, and what changes next, in plain words. How often you get it is set in writing before work starts.

  6. At renewal

    Renew on the numbers

The term ends and you decide whether to continue from the results. The length is agreed in writing before anything starts.

What we need from you

What to have ready before the audit call.

None of it has to be tidy. We read what you have.

  • Your body range with sizes, scents and prices on each platform
  • Sales by month and by region over the last two years
  • Returns for damage and leaks
  • Reviews on scent and feel
  • Gift and combo sales of past festivals

Selling in India and abroad

Selling body skincare beyond your own market.

Where you sell decides sizes, units, seasons and returns. We work from Bengaluru and have no overseas office, so for a new country we start from your own sales and the platforms you already use.

  1. Weight and the shipping bill

Large bottles are heavy and cost a lot to send. Overseas sales of body lotion tend to work better as smaller sizes or through a local distributor.

  2. Fragrance rules

Fragrance ingredients and their labelling are regulated differently in each country. Your adviser confirms what a scented product needs before it is listed.

FAQ

Questions about selling body skincare online.

Not here? More answers, or ask on WhatsApp.

How do I get my body lotion bought all year and not only in winter?
Offer a lighter product for the warm months, such as a gel lotion or a body mist, and send the winter buyer a message in spring. A refill option also helps the household that uses it every day.
Are refill pouches worth it for a small brand?
Often, if your customers reorder the same product. A refill lowers cost per use and shows you who is repeating. It adds a packaging item to manage, so we look at repeat data first.
Can I say a body butter fades stretch marks?
No. We describe the butter and how it feels. A claim about stretch marks, scars or skin tone is one your adviser is unlikely to approve, and the buyer has seen it on every brand.
How much does it cost?
There is no price list, because the work differs by business. The fee is scoped in the free audit and put in writing before anything starts, split into our time, your media spend and production.
How long is the contract?
The term is agreed in writing after the audit, along with the fee and the reporting. It is never a default twelve months, and renewal is decided on the numbers against the baseline recorded at the start.
How soon will we see results?
Fixes to reply time, follow-up and your Google Business Profile are the quickest to show, because the enquiries already exist. Ads can follow soon after follow-up is in place. SEO and content take longer. How long each takes depends on your business, and the audit tells you which applies to you. Nothing here is guaranteed.
Who will actually do the work?
The person you meet on the audit call. We work from one office in Nagarbhavi, Bengaluru, with no account managers in between.
What do you need from us?
For the audit, last month's enquiries in any format and 90 minutes with whoever handles them. After that, access to the accounts the work touches, such as the website, Google Business Profile or CRM, and time for the review meetings.
What if we are not happy with the work?
Tell us and the plan changes. Everything is reported against the baseline, so a number that is not moving is visible to both sides. The term is in your written scope, and the refund and cancellation policy sets out the rest.

Why us

Why owners pick GullySales over an agency.

  • Marketing and sales, as one job

Most agencies stop at the enquiry. We also fix what happens after it: the reply, the follow-up, the quote and the CRM.

  • The person on the first call does the work

No account managers in between. You are never handed to someone you have not met.

  • A baseline before anything starts

Your numbers are written down on day one, so every later report compares against something honest.

  • The fee in writing, split three ways

Our time, your media spend and production on separate lines. You always see what goes to us.

  • No guarantees we cannot keep

The term is agreed in writing and never a default twelve months. We never promise a ranking or a lead count, because nobody controls those.

  • One office, and we say so

Nagarbhavi, Bengaluru. We work across India by call and WhatsApp and travel when a session needs to be in person.
