GullySales

E-commerce · Health and nutrition

Buyers read your label before they read your page, and then they check you against the next seller.

A buyer of a supplement is asked to trust a tub or a bottle they cannot open. They turn it over in the photograph and look for the ingredient list, the serving size, the batch and expiry details, and the seller's name. On a marketplace they then check whether the listing comes from the brand or from a reseller, because the worry about a fake or an old batch is real.

A 90-minute audit call and a written, scored report. Turnaround, reporting and term are agreed in writing after the audit.

In one paragraph

Supplements and nutrition e-commerce is the online sale of vitamins, protein powders, sports nutrition, herbal products and nutrition drinks, to buyers who compare labels, brands and sellers before they pay. GullySales works on how those buyers find you, what your pages show about the product and the seller, and how a repeat purchase gets started.

The segment is also tightly regulated in what you may say. A page that reads well to a buyer can still carry a claim that your adviser or the regulator would object to, so the copy is written to describe the product and not to promise anything about a body. We do not suggest health or medical claims on any page here.

Selling works in a repeat pattern. One tub of whey or one bottle of vitamins is the start, and the order that matters is the second one. Most of the work is in the weeks around the first purchase.

Last updated 7 Oct 2026. Product, labelling and advertising rules for supplements & nutrition differ by product and change. We describe them in general terms, so check the current position with your own adviser or the regulator before you publish a claim.

Who it is for

This is written for you if you sell supplements & nutrition online.

  • Supplement brands selling on their own Shopify or WooCommerce store as well as Amazon and Flipkart
  • Protein and sports nutrition sellers whose buyers train at a gym and compare brands on forums and YouTube
  • Ayurvedic and herbal product makers moving from pharmacies and distributors to online orders
  • Authorised resellers and importers of nutrition brands who need buyers to trust the batch
  • Makers of nutrition drinks, powders and ready-to-mix products selling to families

Not for

It is not the right fit if.

  • A brand that wants copy making health or medical claims the label and your adviser do not support
  • A seller who cannot show the batch, the expiry and the seller details on the page, and does not plan to

How buyers choose

What decides who wins in supplements & nutrition.

  1. The label, read closely

Buyers zoom into the photograph for the ingredient list, the serving size, the number of servings in the pack and the nutrition panel. A pack photographed from the front only sends them to a listing that shows the back.

  2. Is this the real brand

On marketplaces a buyer looks at who the seller is, whether the brand's own store sits beside you, and whether reviews mention a sealed pack. The worry about fakes, old stock and a broken seal decides the order.

  3. Price per serving

A buyer comparing two tubs works out the cost of one serving, not the cost of the tub. If your pack count is hard to find, your comparison is made for you.

  4. Reviews and what people say off the page

Reviews that mention taste, mixing, packaging and delivery condition count for more than a star score. Reddit threads, YouTube reviewers and gym friends are checked before the order.

Where sales are lost

What usually goes wrong when you sell supplements & nutrition online.

In the words sellers use on the first call.

  • “Reviews say the pack arrived damaged or the seal was broken”

A tub that arrives cracked or with a loose seal turns a buyer into a reviewer. The pack, the outer carton and the courier choice are as much a part of the page as the photograph.

  • “Buyers ask if it is original on every listing”

The question is about the seller, not the product. A page that shows how you source the stock and who the authorised seller is answers it before it is typed.

  • “The first order never becomes a second one”

A tub runs out and the buyer goes to whichever listing shows up first that day. Nobody reminded them, and nothing made reordering with you the easy choice.

  • “Our ads were rejected or our listing was pulled”

Copy that sounds like a promise about a body is the usual reason. The fix is rewriting the page to describe the product and checking it with your adviser, not arguing with the platform.

What we do

What you get for supplements & nutrition.

Each deliverable and what it is there to change.

  1. A label-first listing template

One page layout used for every product: front, back, nutrition panel, ingredient list, batch and expiry photograph, and seller details, so the proof sits in the same place each time.

  2. A claims checklist for your copy

A list of the phrases your pages, ads and creators may and may not use, drawn up from your label and sent to your adviser before it is used.

  3. A price-per-serving comparison

A table showing the cost of one serving across your own pack sizes, so the larger pack is easy to choose and you are not undercut on arithmetic.

  4. A reorder calendar by product

When each pack runs out at the serving size on the label, and the message that goes to the buyer before then.

  5. A packaging and returns reading

A summary of what damage and seal complaints in your reviews point to, so the fix is in the carton or the courier and not in a reply.

How the result is measured

  • Purchases
  • Conversion rate
  • Customer acquisition cost
  • Average order value
  • Repeat purchase rate
  • Authenticity and seal complaints

Recorded as a baseline before work starts, so every later report has an honest comparison.

How it works

From your first message to the first report.

No open-ended retainer. Every step gives you something in writing.

  1. First

    Free audit call

90 minutes with whoever handles your enquiries: how they arrive, how fast they are answered, where they are lost.

  2. After the call

    Written, scored report

Six areas scored, fixes ranked by return and cost. If you want our help, the scope, the fee and the reporting come with it, in writing.

  3. Before work starts

    Baseline recorded

Enquiries by source, reply time, conversion and cost per order, written down so every later report has an honest comparison.

  4. After the baseline

    The first fix goes live

Usually the cheapest one on the report: reply time, a follow-up sequence or the marketing-to-sales handover.

  5. As agreed

    Report against the baseline

What moved, what did not, and what changes next, in plain words. How often you get it is set in writing before work starts.

  6. At renewal

    Renew on the numbers

The term ends and you decide whether to continue from the results. The length is agreed in writing before anything starts.

What the work involves for supplements & nutrition

  1. 1

Follow a buyer from search to second order

In the free audit we take one best-selling product and trace it from search to checkout, and then see what happened to the buyer after delivery.

  2. 2

Put the label and the seller on the page

Back-of-pack photographs, batch details, seller information and price per serving go into the listings that already get visitors.

  3. 3

    Check the claims

Every phrase on the page and in the ads is compared with the label and sent to your adviser before it goes live.

  4. 4

Set up reorder and review requests

Reorder messages and review requests are built around each product's pack size, with a baseline of purchases, repeat orders and returns recorded first.

  5. 5

    Measure against the baseline

Reports compare the results with that baseline, on a schedule agreed in writing after the audit, and the next campaign is planned from what reordered.

What we need from you

What to have ready before the audit call.

None of it has to be tidy. We read what you have.

  • Your website, marketplace store links and the brand pages you control
  • Back-of-pack and label photographs for your best-selling products
  • Reviews and returns from the last season, with the reasons given
  • Your seller authorisation or sourcing papers, if you resell another brand
  • Recent ad spend by platform and any ads or listings that were rejected

Selling in India and abroad

Selling supplements & nutrition beyond your own market.

Where you sell decides sizes, units, seasons and returns. We work from Bengaluru and have no overseas office, so for a new country we start from your own sales and the platforms you already use.

  1. Rules are different in each country

A supplement that is sold freely here may be classed differently, labelled differently or refused in another country. Whether you can ship, and with which claims, is checked with your adviser and the destination's regulator before any listing goes up.

  2. Indian buyers abroad

Families overseas who miss a brand from home are the likeliest first buyers. We start from your own orders and platforms, see which countries already buy, and plan delivery and returns from there.

FAQ

Questions about selling supplements & nutrition online.

Not here? More answers, or ask on WhatsApp.

Can I say my product helps with a health problem on the page?
We do not write that, and you should not publish it before your adviser has checked it. Health claims on supplements are controlled, and ad platforms review them too. We write what the product contains, how the label says to take it and who makes it.
Is it better to sell supplements on Amazon or on my own website?
Usually both, for different jobs. A marketplace brings buyers who are comparing brands, and your own site is where someone who already trusts you reorders. The free audit starts with your current orders, so the split is chosen from what already sells where.
How do I stop buyers worrying that my product is fake?
Show the seller and the source. Put the batch and expiry photograph on the page, say whether you are the brand or an authorised seller, and ask for reviews that mention the sealed pack. A buyer with a doubt looks for exactly that.
Can influencers promote my product?
Yes, but what they say is your responsibility as much as theirs. We brief creators to describe the product as the label does, and the brief goes to your adviser first. Creators who promise results get a corrected brief or they are not used.
How much does it cost?
There is no price list, because the work differs by business. The fee is scoped in the free audit and put in writing before anything starts, split into our time, your media spend and production.
How long is the contract?
The term is agreed in writing after the audit, along with the fee and the reporting. It is never a default twelve months, and renewal is decided on the numbers against the baseline recorded at the start.
How soon will we see results?
Fixes to reply time, follow-up and your Google Business Profile are the quickest to show, because the enquiries already exist. Ads can follow soon after follow-up is in place. SEO and content take longer. How long each takes depends on your business, and the audit tells you which applies to you. Nothing here is guaranteed.
Who will actually do the work?
The person you meet on the audit call. We work from one office in Nagarbhavi, Bengaluru, with no account managers in between.
What do you need from us?
For the audit, last month's enquiries in any format and 90 minutes with whoever handles them. After that, access to the accounts the work touches, such as the website, Google Business Profile or CRM, and time for the review meetings.

Most agencies stop at the enquiry. We also fix what happens after it: the reply, the follow-up, the quote and the CRM.

  • The person on the first call does the work

No account managers in between. You are never handed to someone you have not met.

  • A baseline before anything starts

Your numbers are written down on day one, so every later report compares against something honest.

  • The fee in writing, split three ways

Our time, your media spend and production on separate lines. You always see what goes to us.

  • No guarantees we cannot keep

The term is agreed in writing and never a default twelve months. We never promise a ranking or a lead count, because nobody controls those.

  • One office, and we say so
