GullySales

E-commerce · Supplements & Nutrition

Our herbs are old and trusted, but a stranger online needs a reason to believe the bottle.

Many herbal products come with a family memory attached. The buyer grew up with amla or tulsi, knows the plant, and now wants it in a capsule or a powder. Online, they meet a hundred listings that use the same plant names, and what separates them is whether the maker looks real.

A 90-minute audit call and a written, scored report. Turnaround, reporting and term are agreed in writing after the audit.

In one paragraph

Herbal supplement e-commerce is the online sale of products made from herbs and plant extracts, such as ashwagandha, tulsi, triphala, amla and turmeric, in capsules, powders, tablets and drinks. GullySales works on how your pages state the plant, the form and the maker, and on building buyer trust in a product that sits between a food, a tradition and a regulated product.

This is a segment where the line between a description and a claim is thin. Traditional use, the system of medicine it belongs to and what a plant is said to do are all things your adviser should read before they go on a page. We write the plant, the form, the maker and how the label says to take it, and stop there.

Last updated 7 Oct 2026. Product, labelling and advertising rules for supplements & nutrition differ by product and change. We describe them in general terms, so check the current position with your own adviser or the regulator before you publish a claim.

Who it is for

This is written for you if you sell herbal supplements online.

  • Ayurvedic brands moving from pharmacy and distributor sales to online orders
  • Makers of single-herb capsules, powders and extracts
  • Sellers of herbal teas and kadha mixes
  • Rural cooperatives and farm-linked producers selling processed herbs
  • Exporters of Indian herbal products who also sell to buyers at home

Not for

It is not the right fit if.

  • A maker who wants the page to say a herb treats or cures a disease
  • A seller who cannot name the manufacturer or show how the product is made

How buyers choose

What decides the sale of herbal supplements.

  1. The plant, named properly

Buyers search by plant name, often in more than one language: ashwagandha, tulsi, giloy, amla. The botanical name and the part used (root, leaf, fruit) tell a careful buyer you know the plant.

  2. Who made it and where

A buyer wants a manufacturer's name and location, the licence number that appears on the label, and some sign that a real facility exists. A stock photo of a field is read as a warning.

  3. Form and the way it is taken

Capsule, tablet, churna powder, juice or tea. Preferences are firm, and the label's instructions for use are read before the buyer places the order.

  4. The family opinion

Parents and grandparents often have views on which brands are trusted. A younger buyer checks with them before ordering, or orders for them.

Where sales are lost

What usually goes wrong when you sell herbal supplements online.

In the words sellers use on the first call.

  • “Our listing was taken down for the way it was worded”

A word or a sentence about what a herb does was the cause. The page is rewritten from the label, and the rewrite is read by your adviser, not decided by us.

  • “Buyers cannot tell us apart from fifty other brands”

The plant is the same, so the page has to carry the sourcing, the maker's story and the form, all of which have to be true and provable.

  • “Our pharmacy sales are strong and our online sales are not”

In a shop, the pharmacist or the vaidya does the recommending. Online, that voice is missing, and the page has to carry the trust that person gave.

What we do

What you get for herbal supplements.

Each deliverable and what it is there to change.

  1. A plant glossary page for your range

Each plant in your products with common names, botanical name, the part used and the form you sell, written from your own sourcing records.

  2. A maker and licence block

A standard section giving the manufacturer, address and the licence details as they appear on the label, shown on every listing.

  3. Regional-language listings

Titles and descriptions in the languages your buyers use, matched to what they type.

  4. A claims checklist

The words your pages, ads and creators may use, written from the label and approved by your adviser.

  5. A channel split for pharmacy and online

A written list of which products and pack sizes go where, and at what comparison price.

How the result is measured

  • Purchases
  • Conversion rate
  • Customer acquisition cost
  • Repeat purchase rate
  • Return rate
  • Orders by language

Recorded as a baseline before work starts, so every later report has an honest comparison.

How it works

From your first message to the first report.

No open-ended retainer. Every step gives you something in writing.

  1. First

    Free audit call

90 minutes with whoever handles your enquiries: how they arrive, how fast they are answered, where they are lost.

  2. After the call

    Written, scored report

Six areas scored, fixes ranked by return and cost. If you want our help, the scope, the fee and the reporting come with it, in writing.

  3. Before work starts

    Baseline recorded

Enquiries by source, reply time, conversion and cost per order, written down so every later report has an honest comparison.

  4. After the baseline

    The first fix goes live

Usually the cheapest one on the report: reply time, a follow-up sequence or the marketing-to-sales handover.

  5. As agreed

    Report against the baseline

What moved, what did not, and what changes next, in plain words. How often you get it is set in writing before work starts.

  6. At renewal

    Renew on the numbers

The term ends and you decide whether to continue from the results. The length is agreed in writing before anything starts.

What we need from you

What to have ready before the audit call.

None of it has to be tidy. We read what you have.

  • Product labels and the licence details printed on them
  • Your sourcing and manufacturing notes you can share
  • The languages your customers use when they call or write
  • Marketplace listings that were rejected or taken down, and the reason given
  • Pharmacy and distributor price lists

Selling in India and abroad

Selling herbal supplements beyond your own market.

Where you sell decides sizes, units, seasons and returns. We work from Bengaluru and have no overseas office, so for a new country we start from your own sales and the platforms you already use.

  1. A herb here is a controlled ingredient there

Some plants are treated as foods in one country and as medicines or restricted substances in another. Do not list for a country until your adviser and its regulator have said it can be sold, and under which wording.

  2. Indian families abroad

Families overseas look for the brands they grew up with. Start from your own orders to find where they already ship, and plan delivery, duties and returns from there.

FAQ

Questions about selling herbal supplements online.

Not here? More answers, or ask on WhatsApp.

Can I write what the herb is traditionally used for?
Not without your adviser reading it first. Traditional-use statements are treated as claims by regulators and platforms. We write the plant, the form and the label's instructions, and anything more is cleared before it is published.
Do I need a website if I sell on Amazon?
Usually yes, because a marketplace shows your product among competitors and limits how you tell your story. A website is where the maker, sourcing and regional-language content live. The audit looks at what your orders say before suggesting it.
How do I get buyers to trust a brand they have never seen?
Show the maker, the licence on the label and the place. A pharmacist's endorsement can help if the pharmacist agrees and your adviser has checked the wording. Trust here is built from details the buyer can check.
How much does it cost?
There is no price list, because the work differs by business. The fee is scoped in the free audit and put in writing before anything starts, split into our time, your media spend and production.
How long is the contract?
The term is agreed in writing after the audit, along with the fee and the reporting. It is never a default twelve months, and renewal is decided on the numbers against the baseline recorded at the start.
How soon will we see results?
Fixes to reply time, follow-up and your Google Business Profile are the quickest to show, because the enquiries already exist. Ads can follow soon after follow-up is in place. SEO and content take longer. How long each takes depends on your business, and the audit tells you which applies to you. Nothing here is guaranteed.
Who will actually do the work?
The person you meet on the audit call. We work from one office in Nagarbhavi, Bengaluru, with no account managers in between.
What do you need from us?
For the audit, last month's enquiries in any format and 90 minutes with whoever handles them. After that, access to the accounts the work touches, such as the website, Google Business Profile or CRM, and time for the review meetings.
What if we are not happy with the work?
Tell us and the plan changes. Everything is reported against the baseline, so a number that is not moving is visible to both sides. The term is in your written scope, and the refund and cancellation policy sets out the rest.

Why us

Why owners pick GullySales over an agency.

  • Marketing and sales, as one job

Most agencies stop at the enquiry. We also fix what happens after it: the reply, the follow-up, the quote and the CRM.

  • The person on the first call does the work

No account managers in between. You are never handed to someone you have not met.

  • A baseline before anything starts

Your numbers are written down on day one, so every later report compares against something honest.

  • The fee in writing, split three ways

Our time, your media spend and production on separate lines. You always see what goes to us.

  • No guarantees we cannot keep

The term is agreed in writing and never a default twelve months. We never promise a ranking or a lead count, because nobody controls those.

  • One office, and we say so

Nagarbhavi, Bengaluru. We work across India by call and WhatsApp and travel when a session needs to be in person.
