People buy a planner in January and abandon it by March.

A planner is bought by someone who intends to change how they work. The sale is made in the weeks when that intention is strongest: the end of the year, a new job, the start of college. Outside those weeks the same product is hard to sell.

A 90-minute audit call and a written, scored report. Turnaround, reporting and term are agreed in writing after the audit.

In one paragraph

Planners online are diaries, undated planners, habit trackers, academic planners and wall calendars, bought as a promise to get organised, with most sales in the weeks around a new year or a new term. GullySales works on how your planner pages show the layout inside, how the buying season is planned, and how a buyer who stops writing is brought back before next year.

Buyers cannot flip through it, so the listing has to show the inside: the weekly spread, the monthly view, the notes pages and what each one is for.

Who it is for

This is written for you if you sell planners online.

  • Brands selling dated and undated planners and diaries to working professionals
  • Habit tracker, gratitude journal and productivity-system sellers
  • Academic planner and student diary sellers working with schools and colleges
  • Sellers of wall planners, desk calendars and printable planner packs

Not for

It is not the right fit if.

  • A seller who has only a cover design and no layout inside worth showing
  • Anyone planning to sell only dated diaries after the start of the year, when buyers have already chosen

How buyers choose

What decides the sale of planners.

  1. The layout inside

Day per page, week on two pages, month overview, undated or dated. Buyers pick the layout that matches how they plan and look for photographs of every spread.

  2. Dated against undated

A dated planner is wasted if bought late. An undated one can start any month, which is why habit trackers and student planners sell outside January.

  3. Size, binding and the pen question

Fits a bag, lies flat on a desk, takes a fountain pen without ghosting. A planner is carried every day and judged on what it weighs and how it opens.

  4. The gift and the corporate order

Diaries for year-end gifts to staff and customers, with a logo on the cover. These buyers want a sample, a quantity price and a delivery date before the festive season.

Where sales are lost

What usually goes wrong when you sell planners online.

In the words sellers use on the first call.

  • “Our dated diary stops selling in February”

A dated product loses its season quickly. Stock left in March has to be discounted or carried to a year that does not match it.

  • “Buyers say they never finish using it”

That does not show on a review, but it shows in who comes back. A planner with a guide, a starter page or a reset in the middle of the year gets used longer.

  • “Corporate diary orders arrive late and in a hurry”

A company wants two hundred diaries with its logo and writes in the first week of December. A quotation and proof process decides if you take the order.

What we do

What you get for planners.

Each deliverable and what it is there to change.

  1. A layout guide for each planner

A picture of every spread with a note on who it is for, so a buyer picks the right one without writing in.

  2. A planner season calendar

When print orders close, when stock lands, when the campaign for the new year starts, and what to do with dated stock after.

  3. A starter guide for new users

A one-page setup guide that goes into the box or the confirmation email, to make a third-week quit less likely.

  4. A branded diary enquiry page

A form and sample request that captures quantity, logo and the date the diaries must be in hand.

How the result is measured

  • Purchases and conversion rate
  • Customer acquisition cost
  • Average order value
  • Repeat purchase rate
  • Return rate
  • Corporate diary quotation requests

Recorded as a baseline before work starts, so every later report has an honest comparison.

How it works

From your first message to the first report.

No open-ended retainer. Every step gives you something in writing.

  1. First

    Free audit call

90 minutes with whoever handles your enquiries: how they arrive, how fast they are answered, where they are lost.

  2. After the call

    Written, scored report

Six areas scored, fixes ranked by return and cost. If you want our help, the scope, the fee and the reporting come with it, in writing.

  3. Before work starts

    Baseline recorded

Enquiries by source, reply time, conversion and cost per order, written down so every later report has an honest comparison.

  4. After the baseline

    The first fix goes live

Usually the cheapest one on the report: reply time, a follow-up sequence or the marketing-to-sales handover.

  5. As agreed

    Report against the baseline

What moved, what did not, and what changes next, in plain words. How often you get it is set in writing before work starts.

  6. At renewal

    Renew on the numbers

The term ends and you decide whether to continue from the results. The length is agreed in writing before anything starts.

What we need from you

What to have ready before the audit call.

None of it has to be tidy. We read what you have.

  • Your planner range with the layout of each
  • Planner orders for each month of the last two years
  • Unsold dated stock and what happened to it
  • Corporate diary enquiries and which became orders
  • Photographs and videos of the inside pages

Selling in India and abroad

Selling planners beyond your own market.

Where you sell decides sizes, units, seasons and returns. We work from Bengaluru and have no overseas office, so for a new country we start from your own sales and the platforms you already use.

  1. Calendars and holidays that differ

A planner printed with Indian festivals and a week starting Monday fits Indian buyers abroad. Others want their own country's holidays and a Sunday start. Decide which buyer you are talking to.

  2. Print-on-demand and printable packs

Digital planners sold through Etsy avoid shipping and duty, and paper planners go with the parcels already leaving India. Check what each country charges before promising delivery.

FAQ

Questions about selling planners online.

Not here? More answers, or ask on WhatsApp.

When should I start selling next year's planner?
Before the buyer starts thinking about it, which is the weeks leading to the year-end. Print and stock have to be ready first, so work backwards from the date you want to start selling. We build that calendar in the audit.
What do I do with dated planners that did not sell?
Do not carry them to next year. Sell them early as a bargain, bundle them with a current product or give them to a corporate buyer. For the future, a smaller dated run and a larger undated one reduces this.
How do I sell planners to companies?
With a sample, a clear price at a few quantities and a logo proof, through a form that routes to someone who replies the same day. Orders arrive near the festive season, so the answer has to be quick.
How much does it cost?
There is no price list, because the work differs by business. The fee is scoped in the free audit and put in writing before anything starts, split into our time, your media spend and production.
How long is the contract?
The term is agreed in writing after the audit, along with the fee and the reporting. It is never a default twelve months, and renewal is decided on the numbers against the baseline recorded at the start.
How soon will we see results?
Fixes to reply time, follow-up and your Google Business Profile are the quickest to show, because the enquiries already exist. Ads can follow soon after follow-up is in place. SEO and content take longer. How long each takes depends on your business, and the audit tells you which applies to you. Nothing here is guaranteed.
Who will actually do the work?
The person you meet on the audit call. We work from one office in Nagarbhavi, Bengaluru, with no account managers in between.
What do you need from us?
For the audit, last month's enquiries in any format and 90 minutes with whoever handles them. After that, access to the accounts the work touches, such as the website, Google Business Profile or CRM, and time for the review meetings.
What if we are not happy with the work?
Tell us and the plan changes. Everything is reported against the baseline, so a number that is not moving is visible to both sides. The term is in your written scope, and the refund and cancellation policy sets out the rest.

Why us

Why owners pick GullySales over an agency.

  • Marketing and sales, as one job

Most agencies stop at the enquiry. We also fix what happens after it: the reply, the follow-up, the quote and the CRM.

  • The person on the first call does the work

No account managers in between. You are never handed to someone you have not met.

  • A baseline before anything starts

Your numbers are written down on day one, so every later report compares against something honest.

  • The fee in writing, split three ways

Our time, your media spend and production on separate lines. You always see what goes to us.

  • No guarantees we cannot keep

The term is agreed in writing and never a default twelve months. We never promise a ranking or a lead count, because nobody controls those.

  • One office, and we say so

Nagarbhavi, Bengaluru. We work across India by call and WhatsApp and travel when a session needs to be in person.
