International schools · Buyer persona

Write down who is choosing the school and who is paying for it.

A buyer persona for an international school describes the family that decides, the person who influences them and the person who pays. GullySales builds a persona for each of your priority groups from your own admissions records, so pages and replies speak to the right reader.

Scope, fee, reporting and term are agreed in writing after we have read your brief and spoken to you.

What buyer persona means

A buyer persona is a plain description of the kind of customer who actually buys from you. It includes what they search, what worries them and who else they ask before deciding. GullySales builds this from real enquiries and past sales rather than a generic template, then uses it to write every page and advert.

For international schools

Where it usually goes wrong, and what we would do.

  • “The returning Indian family asks about fitting in”

A family that spent years abroad judges the school by how it will place the child and welcome a newcomer. The persona is concerned with pastoral care, grade matching and the culture shock of going back to an Indian classroom.

  • “The expatriate family on assignment asks about continuity”

A family sent to India for a fixed posting wants the same programme the child followed before, and a school that understands a mid-year arrival. Their question is whether the child can step in and step out without losing a year.

  • “The employer is a persona that never sets foot in the school”

A relocation or mobility manager shapes which schools a family sees. This reader wants clear admission steps, a named contact and a document pack, and has no interest in campus photographs.

  • “The local family weighing an international curriculum is a different reader”

An Indian family choosing between its own board and IB or Cambridge asks about university routes, fees against value and how the child will return to the Indian system. This persona needs a calm comparison, not a sales pitch.

What we do

What we deliver for international schools.

Every deliverable, what it covers for you, and the result it is there to produce. Nothing here is an extra.

  1. A persona for each priority family group

One written profile per group, such as returning Indian families, expatriate families and local families, built from your admissions files.

Result: Each priority group has a one-page profile that the office has checked.

  2. A relocation team persona

A profile of the HR or mobility reader covering what they forward, what they ask the school and how they judge a reply.

Result: The pack and replies for employers follow what that reader needs.

  3. A decision map for each group

A note of who starts the search, who visits, who pays and who signs, for each group of families.

Result: The office knows whom to address at each step of an enquiry.

  4. A question list drawn from real enquiries

The actual wording parents used in emails, calls and tour conversations, collected and grouped under each persona.

Result: Pages use the words families themselves use.

  5. A check against families who did not apply

A short review of enquiries that went quiet, noting which persona they matched and where the conversation stopped.

Result: The profiles are corrected by evidence from families who left.

How the result is measured

  • Enquiry match to persona
  • Conversion rate by persona
  • Content aligned to persona

Recorded as a baseline before work starts, so every later report has an honest comparison.

How it works

From your first message to the first report.

No open-ended retainer. Every step gives you something in writing.

  1. First

    Your brief

You tell us what you need in a few short steps: your business, what you want, where enquiries come from and how they are handled.

  2. After the brief

A conversation and a written scope

We read it, then talk with whoever handles your enquiries. If you want our help, the scope, the fee and the reporting come in writing, and nothing starts before you have read them.

  3. Before work starts

    Baseline recorded

The numbers this work is meant to move, such as enquiries, quotations, orders, visits or renewals, written down so every later report has an honest comparison.

  4. After the baseline

    The first fix goes live

The fix we agreed to start with is put in place and measured against the baseline, whether that is a reply, a follow-up, a page, a listing or the handover between marketing and sales.

  5. As agreed

    Report against the baseline

What moved, what did not, and what changes next, in plain words. How often you get it is set in writing before work starts.

  6. At renewal

    Renew on the numbers

The term ends and you decide whether to continue from the results. The length is agreed in writing before anything starts.

How the buyer persona work runs

  1. 1

    Understand the current view

We start with how your team currently describes the customer, since the gap between belief and reality is often the finding itself.

  2. 2

    Audit past enquiries and sales

We look at recent enquiries and closed deals to see who actually bought, not who was assumed to buy.

  3. 3

    Interview customers and staff

Short, structured conversations surface the real language, worries and triggers behind a purchase.

  4. 4

    Build the personas

Findings are written into short, usable persona documents rather than a long report.

  5. 5

    Apply to your marketing

We show exactly where each persona should change a page, an ad or a script you already have.

Why us

Why owners pick GullySales over an agency.

  • Marketing and sales, as one job

Most agencies stop at the enquiry. We also fix what happens after it: the reply, the follow-up, the quote and the CRM.

  • The person on the first call does the work

No account managers in between. You are never handed to someone you have not met.

  • A baseline before anything starts

Your numbers are written down on day one, so every later report compares against something honest.

  • The fee in writing, split three ways

Our time, your media spend and production on separate lines. You always see what goes to us.

  • No guarantees we cannot keep

The term is agreed in writing and never a default twelve months. We never promise a ranking or a lead count, because nobody controls those.

  • One office, and we say so

Nagarbhavi, Bengaluru. We work across India by call and WhatsApp and travel when a session needs to be in person.

FAQ

Questions owners ask before they call.

Not here? More answers, or ask on WhatsApp.

Are the personas invented?
No. Each is built from your enquiries, tour notes and admission files, and then checked with your admissions head. A line that the office cannot recognise from real families is removed or rewritten.
How many personas does a school need?
One for each group you want to grow is enough to begin. A newer school may start with two or three and add more once the admissions register shows who is actually enquiring.
Do the personas include a child's details?
No. They describe patterns across families, never an individual child or family. Keep admission records under your school's own data-protection practice and take advice if you are unsure.
How much does it cost?
There is no price list, because the work differs by business. The fee is scoped after we have read your brief and spoken to you, and put in writing before anything starts, split into our time, your media spend and production.
How long is the contract?
The term is agreed in writing after we have spoken, along with the fee and the reporting. It is never a default twelve months, and renewal is decided on the numbers against the baseline recorded at the start.
How soon will we see results?
It depends on the trade, the channel and what is already in place. After we have read your brief and spoken to you, we say what we would expect to move first and how it will be measured against the baseline. Nothing here is guaranteed.
Who will actually do the work?
The person you speak to before anything starts. We work from one office in Nagarbhavi, Bengaluru, with no account managers in between.
What do you need from us?
Your brief, and a conversation. After that, access to whatever this work touches, such as your website, your accounts or your enquiry record, and time with the people who handle your enquiries.
What if we are not happy with the work?
Tell us and the plan changes. Everything is reported against the baseline, so a number that is not moving is visible to both sides. The term is in your written scope, and the refund and cancellation policy sets out the rest.
