Prepare the phones and fee sheet before the SSLC result is announced.

The Class 10 result comes out on a weekday morning and by noon families across the lane are asking the same thing: which college for PCMB, and is the coaching inside the college or outside?

Scope, fee, reporting and term are agreed in writing after we have read your brief and spoken to you.

A prospective student speaks with a university admissions adviser

In one paragraph

A PU college is a pre-university college for Classes 11 and 12, where students choose a stream such as science, commerce or arts. PU college marketing reaches Class 10 students and their parents in the weeks around results. Admissions sales turns a stream question into a visit, then a joined seat. GullySales prepares the reply plan for result week. It also prepares the fee and coaching sheet and the enquiry record.

One parent rings four colleges in a row while the student sits alongside, insisting on commerce. One college picks up and invites them for Saturday. Two never answer, and the fourth sends a brochure that does not mention the fee.

A PU college has a short, hard window. Families decide in weeks, as a household, and the stream is settled before the college is. A straight answer on fees and coaching, and a counsellor who remembers the child's name on the second call, count for more than a hoarding.

How buyers decide

How PU colleges are chosen.

The student picks the stream first, under pressure from parents, an older cousin or a school teacher. Then comes the college, and for science streams the main question is the entrance coaching: whether NEET, JEE or state CET preparation is built into the timetable, who teaches it, and whether the student has to pay a separate coaching fee on top.

Parents compare fees across three or four colleges by phone and WhatsApp. They ask for the result history of the last few years. They look at distance, bus routes, the hostel for outstation students and how many students are in a section. The college a neighbour's child attended carries weight, and so does what the school teachers say in the last month of Class 10.

The admission process is run under state rules on seats, fees and dates, which differ and change, so a college must check its own board and department notices before publishing any date or number.

The problem

What usually goes wrong for PU colleges.

What owners tell us on the first call, in their words.

  • “Result day floods the phones and half the calls are missed”

Every family rings in the same few hours, and a reception with two phones and no script cannot sort the stream questions from the fee questions.

  • “Parents compare fees we have not explained”

Our fee sheet shows tuition, but the coaching, books, hostel and uniform come up only on the second visit.

  • “Our result claims are questioned”

Rank lists and topper photographs with no year, board or consent invite doubt from parents who have seen other colleges' hoardings.

  • “The feeder schools do not know us”

School teachers and principals guide students at the point of decision, and we have not been in front of them since last year.

  • “We lose students between the visit and the payment”

A family visits on Saturday, says they will think, and nobody rings until the seats are nearly full.

  • “Outstation students struggle to find hostel details”

Parents from other districts cannot find a hostel address, fee or rule on our website, so they move on.

What we do

What we do for PU colleges.

Everything included for PU colleges.

  1. A results-week response plan

A rota for phones and WhatsApp for the days after results, saved answers on streams and fees, and a missed-call list the counsellors work through.

  2. A single fee and coaching sheet

A clear page showing what is in the college fee, what is extra and what the hostel costs, written so a parent can add it up without calling.

  3. Result and topper pages with proper detail

Pages that state the year, board and stream for any result shown, using names and photographs only where the student and family have consented.

  4. A feeder-school introduction kit

A short note and talk for Class 10 teachers and counsellors about streams, subjects and how your college handles the choice between them.

  5. A follow-up record for every visiting family

A list of who came, which stream they asked about, what they were told and when to ring next.

How the result is measured

  • Enquiries by stream and by source
  • Missed calls logged and returned
  • Campus visits booked from enquiries
  • Admissions confirmed against visits
  • Students from each feeder school
  • Hostel enquiries against hostel seats taken

Recorded as a baseline before work starts, so every later report has an honest comparison.

Worth a page and a campaign of their own

Science stream admissions (PCMB and PCMC) · Commerce stream admissions (CEBA and similar) · Arts stream admissions · Integrated entrance coaching enquiries · Hostel admissions for outstation students · Scholarship and merit seat enquiries · Feeder school visits and career talks · Re-admission and transfer enquiries after Class 10 supplementary results · Parent meeting and orientation follow-up

Priority campaigns

Campaigns for what PU colleges most want to sell.

Each one planned around when your buyers decide, and measured against the baseline.

  • Class 10 results campaign

Search and social ads and a landing page on stream choice, live around results, ending in a call or a Saturday visit.

  • Stream choice talks in feeder schools

Short, useful sessions for Class 10 students on streams and careers, invited by the schools and followed up on WhatsApp.

  • Parent open house

A weekend for parents to see classrooms, labs and the hostel, meet the faculty and ask about the coaching timetable.

  • Alumni and senior student stories

Short films and posts from current students and alumni, with their consent (and a parent's for any student under 18), about a typical day and their preparation.

Beyond search

Where we reach buyers of PU colleges, beyond Google.

Search matters, but it is rarely the only way this industry's buyers find a supplier.

  • Feeder school principals and Class 10 teachers

In March and April the Class 10 class teacher is asked what comes next. The schools in your catchment are listed, each with an introduction and a talk outline.

  • Tuition teachers and neighbourhood coaching centres

A maths tutor who has taught the child since Class 8 is asked about the college. A respectful note on how your college handles coaching and timetable is prepared for the tutor.

  • Current parents and student ambassadors

A second-year student's mother tells the neighbours. A request message is drafted for current parents, and a sheet records who sent whom.

  • Local search and maps

A search for PU college near me opens a map. The Google Business Profile carries the right streams, address, photographs and phone number.

  • Community groups and residents' associations

Residents' groups discuss stream and college choices in the weeks after results. A short factual post is prepared for the group admin, not a repeated advertisement.

Who it is for

This is written for these PU colleges.

  • Science colleges with integrated NEET, JEE or CET coaching
  • Commerce-focused PU colleges with CA and CS foundation
  • Arts and humanities PU colleges
  • PU colleges attached to a school or a trust
  • Residential PU colleges with hostel and study hours
  • Composite colleges offering several streams
  • Girls' PU colleges
  • Government-aided and private unaided PU colleges

Not for

It is not the right fit if.

  • You want a guaranteed Google ranking or a guaranteed number of leads. Nobody honest can promise either.
  • You need enquiries by next week and have nobody to answer them.
  • You want posts and reach reported, not enquiries and orders.

How it works

From your first message to the first report.

No open-ended retainer. Every step gives you something in writing.

  1. First

    Your brief

You tell us what you need in a few short steps: your business, what you want, where enquiries come from and how they are handled.

  2. After the brief

A conversation and a written scope

We read it, then talk with whoever handles your enquiries. If you want our help, the scope, the fee and the reporting come in writing, and nothing starts before you have read them.

  3. Before work starts

    Baseline recorded

The numbers this work is meant to move, such as enquiries, quotations, orders, visits or renewals, written down so every later report has an honest comparison.

  4. After the baseline

    The first fix goes live

The fix we agreed to start with is put in place and measured against the baseline, whether that is a reply, a follow-up, a page, a listing or the handover between marketing and sales.

  5. As agreed

    Report against the baseline

What moved, what did not, and what changes next, in plain words. How often you get it is set in writing before work starts.

  6. At renewal

    Renew on the numbers

The term ends and you decide whether to continue from the results. The length is agreed in writing before anything starts.

How the work runs for PU colleges

  1. 1

    Read last year's register

Last year's admission register shows which streams filled, which schools sent students, and how the phones were handled on result day.

  2. 2

    Prepare the reply

Saved answers, a rota, a fee sheet and a record for every enquiry, ready before the results are announced.

  3. 3

Write the stream, coaching and hostel pages

Pages for each stream, the coaching, the hostel and the results, written to the board's and department's rules as you give them to us.

  4. 4

    Go to the schools

A plan for feeder schools, tutors and parent groups, with the materials ready and the visits recorded.

  5. 5

Read the joined list with the principal

The enquiry list is read with the principal, showing which streams and sources produced joined students.

Why us

Why owners pick GullySales over an agency.

  • Marketing and sales, as one job

Most agencies stop at the enquiry. We also fix what happens after it: the reply, the follow-up, the quote and the CRM.

  • The person on the first call does the work

No account managers in between. You are never handed to someone you have not met.

  • A baseline before anything starts

Your numbers are written down on day one, so every later report compares against something honest.

  • The fee in writing, split three ways

Our time, your media spend and production on separate lines. You always see what goes to us.

  • No guarantees we cannot keep

The term is agreed in writing and never a default twelve months. We never promise a ranking or a lead count, because nobody controls those.

  • One office, and we say so

Nagarbhavi, Bengaluru. We work across India by call and WhatsApp and travel when a session needs to be in person.

Engagement options

Ways to work with us.

Pick the size of commitment that fits. Every option starts with your brief and a conversation.

  1. Option 1

    The conversation on its own

A call after you send your brief. It says honestly whether you need outside help, and many fixes are ones your own team can make.

  2. Option 2

    One fix, scoped

Start with the fix that matters most, such as reply time or follow-up. The fee is in writing before anything starts.

  3. Option 3

    An ongoing programme

We run the work, report against the baseline, and you renew on the numbers. The term and the reporting are agreed in writing first.

  4. Option 4

Guidance for your own team or agency

We plan, brief and check the work of your in-house team or current agency, instead of replacing them.

FAQ

Questions PU colleges ask before they call.

Not here? More answers, or ask on WhatsApp.

Can we show a coaching partner’s toppers as our own results?
No. Show only results of your own students, with the year, board and stream stated beside each. A coaching partner’s results belong on the partner’s page, labelled as theirs. The 2024 central guidelines on coaching advertisements bar rank or success claims that hide which course the student took, and advertising rules differ by state and change, so check with your own adviser.
Do you show topper photographs?
Only when the student and family have agreed in writing and the year, board and stream are stated. We avoid rank claims we cannot see a record for.
What about the rules on PU admission and fees?
They differ by state and change, so we write in general terms and ask the college to confirm dates, seats and fees from its own department notices.
We have a small college and no marketing person. Is that a problem?
It is not. The records and routines are built so the principal or a counsellor can run them without a separate department.
Can you work with our existing coaching partner?
Yes. We describe the coaching arrangement as you describe it to us, and keep the roles of your college and the partner clear to parents.
How long is the contract?
The term is agreed in writing after we have spoken, along with the fee and the reporting. It is never a default twelve months, and renewal is decided on the numbers against the baseline recorded at the start.
Who will actually do the work?
The person you speak to before anything starts. We work from one office in Nagarbhavi, Bengaluru, with no account managers in between.
What do you need from us?
To start, last month's enquiries in any format and time with whoever handles them. After that, access to the accounts the work touches, such as the website, Google Business Profile or CRM.
What if we are not happy with the work?
Tell us and the plan changes. Everything is reported against the baseline, so a number that is not moving is visible to both sides. The term is in your written scope, and the refund and cancellation policy sets out the rest.
