State board schools · Buyer persona

Describe the parent who chooses your school, in their own words and worries.

A buyer persona for a state board school is a written portrait of the kinds of families who enquire, covering what they ask, what worries them and who else weighs in on the decision. GullySales builds these from your admissions register and from conversations with your front-office staff, not from guesswork.

Scope, fee, reporting and term are agreed in writing after we have read your brief and spoken to you.

What buyer persona means

A buyer persona is a plain description of the kind of customer who actually buys from you. It includes what they search, what worries them and who else they ask before deciding. GullySales builds this from real enquiries and past sales rather than a generic template, then uses it to write every page and advert.

For state board schools

Where it usually goes wrong, and what we would do.

  • “The decision-maker is not always the person at the gate”

A mother may visit and ask the questions, while a father or grandparent decides on fee and distance. The pitch should answer the person who signs the form as well as the one who asks.

  • “First-generation school families ask different things”

A parent who did not finish school may worry about homework help, the language of instruction and whether their child will cope. Reassurance about teacher support matters more than a list of facilities.

  • “Transferred families compare before they arrive”

A family posted to the town by an employer wants a school that fits the syllabus their child already knows. They need clear admission steps for mid-year entry, and they search before they land.

  • “Parents of senior-class children weigh a move”

A family with a child entering Class 8 is deciding whether to stay or shift to another board. Their question is what the next three years will look like, and they are listening for a plain answer.

What we do

What we deliver for state board schools.

Every deliverable, what it covers for you, and the result it is there to produce. Nothing here is an extra.

  1. Three or four written personas

Short portraits, for example the village family, the transferred family and the parent of a senior-class child, each with their questions.

Result: The office can name which persona a caller resembles and what to say.

  2. A question list per persona

The questions each family asks, drawn from the register and staff memory.

Result: Each persona has its own questions beside it.

  3. Message guidance per persona

A few lines on tone, language and what to mention first for each kind of family.

Result: A new front-office hire can read one page and answer a caller properly.

  4. A decision-maker map

Who in the household asks, who pays and who has the final say, for each persona.

Result: The follow-up message goes to the person who decides.

  5. A yearly persona refresh

A short review after admissions close, adding what the new families actually asked.

Result: The portraits match the families who enrolled, not last decade's.

How the result is measured

  • Enquiry match to persona
  • Conversion rate by persona
  • Content aligned to persona

Recorded as a baseline before work starts, so every later report has an honest comparison.

How it works

From your first message to the first report.

No open-ended retainer. Every step gives you something in writing.

  1. First

    Your brief

You tell us what you need in a few short steps: your business, what you want, where enquiries come from and how they are handled.

  2. After the brief

A conversation and a written scope

We read it, then talk with whoever handles your enquiries. If you want our help, the scope, the fee and the reporting come in writing, and nothing starts before you have read them.

  3. Before work starts

    Baseline recorded

The numbers this work is meant to move, such as enquiries, quotations, orders, visits or renewals, written down so every later report has an honest comparison.

  4. After the baseline

    The first fix goes live

The fix we agreed to start with is put in place and measured against the baseline, whether that is a reply, a follow-up, a page, a listing or the handover between marketing and sales.

  5. As agreed

    Report against the baseline

What moved, what did not, and what changes next, in plain words. How often you get it is set in writing before work starts.

  6. At renewal

    Renew on the numbers

The term ends and you decide whether to continue from the results. The length is agreed in writing before anything starts.

How the buyer persona work runs

  1. 1

    Understand the current view

We start with how your team currently describes the customer, since the gap between belief and reality is often the finding itself.

  2. 2

    Audit past enquiries and sales

We look at recent enquiries and closed deals to see who actually bought, not who was assumed to buy.

  3. 3

    Interview customers and staff

Short, structured conversations surface the real language, worries and triggers behind a purchase.

  4. 4

    Build the personas

Findings are written into short, usable persona documents rather than a long report.

  5. 5

    Apply to your marketing

We show exactly where each persona should change a page, an ad or a script you already have.

Why us

Why owners pick GullySales over an agency.

  • Marketing and sales, as one job

Most agencies stop at the enquiry. We also fix what happens after it: the reply, the follow-up, the quote and the CRM.

  • The person on the first call does the work

No account managers in between. You are never handed to someone you have not met.

  • A baseline before anything starts

Your numbers are written down on day one, so every later report compares against something honest.

  • The fee in writing, split three ways

Our time, your media spend and production on separate lines. You always see what goes to us.

  • No guarantees we cannot keep

The term is agreed in writing and never a default twelve months. We never promise a ranking or a lead count, because nobody controls those.

  • One office, and we say so

Nagarbhavi, Bengaluru. We work across India by call and WhatsApp and travel when a session needs to be in person.

FAQ

Questions owners ask before they call.

Not here? More answers, or ask on WhatsApp.

Do we need research to build personas?
Your own admissions register and your staff's memory are a good start. We add short conversations with a few parents, who agree to talk, to check what we have written.
Will personas label families unfairly?
They are working portraits for the office, not categories to sort children. They exist so that a caller is answered in the way they need.
How personas are enough?
As as the office can remember and use. Three or four that staff actually refer to are better than ten that sit in a folder.
How much does it cost?
There is no price list, because the work differs by business. The fee is scoped after we have read your brief and spoken to you, and put in writing before anything starts, split into our time, your media spend and production.
How long is the contract?
The term is agreed in writing after we have spoken, along with the fee and the reporting. It is never a default twelve months, and renewal is decided on the numbers against the baseline recorded at the start.
How soon will we see results?
It depends on the trade, the channel and what is already in place. After we have read your brief and spoken to you, we say what we would expect to move first and how it will be measured against the baseline. Nothing here is guaranteed.
Who will actually do the work?
The person you speak to before anything starts. We work from one office in Nagarbhavi, Bengaluru, with no account managers in between.
What do you need from us?
Your brief, and a conversation. After that, access to whatever this work touches, such as your website, your accounts or your enquiry record, and time with the people who handle your enquiries.
What if we are not happy with the work?
Tell us and the plan changes. Everything is reported against the baseline, so a number that is not moving is visible to both sides. The term is in your written scope, and the refund and cancellation policy sets out the rest.
