Mortgage brokers and loan officers · Branding

One brokerage, six originators, six different looking lenders.

Branding for a mortgage business is the presentation an agent and a borrower both judge. It covers the pre-approval letter, the profile photograph, the required identifiers and the material each originator hands out. GullySales settles one standard across the team and keeps the disclosures where your compliance officer wants them.

Scope, fee, reporting and term are agreed in writing after we have read your brief and spoken to you.

What branding means

Branding is what a customer remembers about your business beyond the product, including your name, colours, tone of voice and what you are known for locally. GullySales sets or corrects this once and applies it consistently across your website, signage and adverts so the business looks like one company everywhere.

For mortgage brokers and loan officers

Where it usually goes wrong, and what we would do.

  • “The pre-approval letter is your most-read document”

An agent forwards it to a listing agent, who shows it to a seller. It is read by people who will never open your website.

  • “Six originators means six brands unless somebody decides”

One prints flyers, one is on video, one does nothing at all. To an agent outside their circle the firm's name means nothing.

  • “Identifiers belong in the file, not in somebody's memory”

Material has to carry the identifiers your regulator expects, and the safest place for them is built into every template.

What we do

What we deliver for mortgage brokers and loan officers.

Every deliverable, what it covers for you, and the result it is there to produce. Nothing here is an extra.

  1. A pre-approval letter worth forwarding

A clear one-page letter that a listing agent can read in fifteen seconds, with what was verified stated plainly and your identifiers in place.

Result: Your letter helps the offer instead of raising a question.

  2. One presentation standard for every originator

Photographs, titles, signatures, business cards and slide material brought to one look, with each person's own licence details on their own material.

Result: Agents recognise the firm whoever they are dealing with.

  3. Required identifiers built into every template

The licence identifiers and notices your compliance officer specifies, placed in the master files so nobody has to remember to add them.

Result: A rushed flyer cannot go out incomplete.

  4. A borrower document pack

What happens after a pre-approval, the documents a file needs, and who to call when something changes, in one short set of pages.

Result: Borrowers stop ringing to ask what happens next.

  5. Profile photography and titles brought into line

A proper photograph of each originator and one agreed way of writing titles, used across the website, the profiles and the material.

Result: Your team looks like a firm rather than six freelancers.

  6. A short line saying what this brokerage is for

One agreed sentence about the borrowers you serve best, used on the site, the profiles and in the agent presentation.

Result: An agent can describe you to another agent.

How the result is measured

  • Recognition in customer feedback
  • Consistency across channels
  • Repeat enquiries by name

Recorded as a baseline before work starts, so every later report has an honest comparison.

Positioning in one sentence

The sentence a mortgage broker can write, in plain words, before choosing a name or a card.

We help [salaried, self-employed or builder-referred] borrowers [in area] choose and apply for a home loan, and unlike [the bank counter] we [one step we do on every file].

Who it is for
A salaried first-time buyer, a self-employed borrower with irregular income, or the customers of a builder who need finance. Name the one you want, since each brings different documents and worries.
What you do and whose side you are on
Say whether you compare lenders, process files for one lender or only advise, and how you are paid. Borrowers assume a broker works for them, so state it plainly, in wording your compliance adviser has seen.
What a borrower gets that the bank counter does not
Perhaps a comparison across several lenders, a document checklist before applying, or someone who calls when a file stalls. Pick one you do every time and write it as a fact.
The proof you can show
Registration or authorisation details as your lenders and regulator require, a sample document checklist, and written words from borrowers who agree. Do not show rate claims or approval promises.
Words borrowers ignore
'Lowest rate', 'instant approval' and 'hassle-free' are on every hoarding and are claims you cannot control. Describe a step you actually do: 'We check your papers before the bank sees them.'
The name and tagline test
Check the name against lender names and well-known finance brands so nobody takes you for part of a bank. Read the tagline for any promise on rate or approval, and cut it if there is one.

How it works

From your first message to the first report.

No open-ended retainer. Every step gives you something in writing.

  1. First

    Your brief

You tell us what you need in a few short steps: your business, what you want, where enquiries come from and how they are handled.

  2. After the brief

A conversation and a written scope

We read it, then talk with whoever handles your enquiries. If you want our help, the scope, the fee and the reporting come in writing, and nothing starts before you have read them.

  3. Before work starts

    Baseline recorded

The numbers this work is meant to move, such as enquiries, quotations, orders, visits or renewals, written down so every later report has an honest comparison.

  4. After the baseline

    The first fix goes live

The fix we agreed to start with is put in place and measured against the baseline, whether that is a reply, a follow-up, a page, a listing or the handover between marketing and sales.

  5. As agreed

    Report against the baseline

What moved, what did not, and what changes next, in plain words. How often you get it is set in writing before work starts.

  6. At renewal

    Renew on the numbers

The term ends and you decide whether to continue from the results. The length is agreed in writing before anything starts.

How the branding work runs

  1. 1

    Interview customers and team

We talk to real buyers, won and lost, and to people inside the business who deal with customers daily.

  2. 2

    Review the competitive field

We look at how the nearest competitors present themselves so the position is not accidentally identical.

  3. 3

    Draft the position

A first version of the positioning statement and messaging pillars is written and checked against what customers actually said.

  4. 4

    Test it against real conversations

The draft is tried out in a real sales call or two before it is finalised, since a position that does not survive a real conversation needs rework.

  5. 5

    Hand over the rollout brief

The final position, pillars and not-for list are documented for your team and any agency to apply consistently.

Why us

Why owners pick GullySales over an agency.

  • Marketing and sales, as one job

Most agencies stop at the enquiry. We also fix what happens after it: the reply, the follow-up, the quote and the CRM.

  • The person on the first call does the work

No account managers in between. You are never handed to someone you have not met.

  • A baseline before anything starts

Your numbers are written down on day one, so every later report compares against something honest.

  • The fee in writing, split three ways

Our time, your media spend and production on separate lines. You always see what goes to us.

  • No guarantees we cannot keep

The term is agreed in writing and never a default twelve months. We never promise a ranking or a lead count, because nobody controls those.

  • Hours that fit your day, agreed up front

Which hours we overlap with yours is settled before any work starts, so you know when a reply is coming and when it is not.

FAQ

Questions owners ask before they call.

Should we brand the company or the loan officers?
Both, in that order of effort. Borrowers choose a person and agents refer a person, so the originator carries the relationship. The firm's job is to make all of them look like one business.
Does our material need the licence identifier?
Advertising rules require certain identifiers on lender material, and the safest approach is to build them into every template. Which ones apply where is settled by your compliance officer, since the licence is yours and state rules differ.
Our name has 'Home Loans' and 'Finance' in it. Could customers mistake us for a bank?
They could, so say plainly whether you are an independent adviser, a lender's loan officer or an agent for named lenders, and avoid words implying you lend. What an intermediary may call itself varies by place and changes, so check the wording with your compliance adviser.
Should the card carry our own photograph or a stock picture of a family?
Use your own. Borrowers hand over income papers and want to know who they are dealing with. Stock families appear on every lender's site and say nothing about you. Use one consistent photograph on the card, listing, email signature and pre-approval letter.
How much does it cost?
There is no price list, because the work differs by business. The fee is scoped after we have read your brief and spoken to you, and put in writing before anything starts, split into our time, your media spend and production.
How long is the contract?
The term is agreed in writing after we have spoken, along with the fee and the reporting. It is never a default twelve months, and renewal is decided on the numbers against the baseline recorded at the start.
How soon will we see results?
It depends on the trade, the channel and what is already in place. After we have read your brief and spoken to you, we say what we would expect to move first and how it will be measured against the baseline. Nothing here is guaranteed.
Who will actually do the work?
The person you speak to before anything starts. We work from one office in Nagarbhavi, Bengaluru, with no account managers in between.
What do you need from us?
Your brief, and a conversation. After that, access to whatever this work touches, such as your website, your accounts or your enquiry record, and time with the people who handle your enquiries.
What if we are not happy with the work?
Tell us and the plan changes. Everything is reported against the baseline, so a number that is not moving is visible to both sides. The term is in your written scope, and the refund and cancellation policy sets out the rest.
