Retirement planning firms · Content marketing

Write the explainer a nervous fifty-eight year old can read in one sitting.

Content marketing for a retirement planning firm means articles, checklists and short guides that explain the decisions around retirement in plain words. GullySales plans a body of work around the questions clients ask and leaves the final wording to your own adviser.

Scope, fee, reporting and term are agreed in writing after we have read your brief and spoken to you.

What content marketing means

Content marketing is writing articles, guides and pages that answer the questions buyers search before they are ready to enquire. This makes your business visible and trusted before the first call. GullySales plans this content from the first conversation onward, choosing topics that match real search demand rather than guesses.

Last updated 18 Oct 2026. Rules for this trade differ by state and professional body, and they change. We describe restrictions in general terms, so check the current position with your own council or adviser before you publish anything.

For retirement planning firms

Where it usually goes wrong, and what we would do.

  • “The reader is frightened of getting it wrong”

A person near retirement is not looking for cleverness. They want to know what must be decided, in what order, and what is safe to leave. A guide that sets out the order calms them and earns the call.

  • “Product content makes the firm look like a seller”

Articles that compare pension plans and annuities read as a sales page. Content about the decisions, such as what to do with a provident fund balance, shows a planner who thinks before selling, and a reader who has been sold to before notices the difference.

  • “A guide for the child is a separate piece”

The son or daughter wants to know how to raise the subject with a parent, which papers to gather and when to involve a planner. That is a different article from the one the retiree needs, and it travels well on WhatsApp.

What we do

What we deliver for retirement planning firms.

Every deliverable, what it covers for you, and the result it is there to produce. Nothing here is an extra.

  1. A retirement readiness checklist

A short, printable list of income sources, health cover, nominations and who handles money if one spouse falls ill.

Result: A reader can tick what is settled and see what is open.

  2. An explainer series on the decisions at retirement

Articles on provident fund options, pension payout choices and health cover after sixty, each reviewed by your adviser.

Result: Each decision has its own article in plain language.

  3. A conversation guide for adult children

A page that helps a son or daughter start the money talk with a parent without causing offence.

Result: Families have something to share before they call.

  4. A reuse plan for the best articles

Each article cut into a LinkedIn note, a forwardable card and a handout for employer sessions.

Result: One piece of writing serves the site, the profile, the family groups and the employer session.

How the result is measured

  • Pages published
  • Organic traffic
  • Enquiries from content pages

Recorded as a baseline before work starts, so every later report has an honest comparison.

How it works

How the content marketing work runs

The work itself, in order. How an engagement starts, from your brief to a written scope, is set out on our method page.

  1. 1

    Confirm the plan

Topics and formats for the coming month are confirmed against the content strategy.

  2. 2

    Produce and review

Content is written or filmed, then reviewed by someone who knows your trade before it goes out.

  3. 3

    Publish and distribute

Finished content is published to the site and pushed through the channels your buyers actually use.

  4. 4

    Track enquiries

Enquiries are traced back to content where a direct line exists, and reported honestly where it does not.

  5. 5

    Report and adjust

We report results and adjust the next topics based on what actually worked.

Where this fits

Three pieces of sales work, in this order.

This work sits inside sales process design, at stage 0, foundation. The audit comes before it, and sales management keeps it running.

  1. Step 1

    Sales audit

Find where deals are being lost and what to fix first.

Start here if you cannot say where orders are lost.

  2. Step 2 · you are here

    Sales process design

One written way to sell, from first enquiry to repeat order.

Start here if every salesperson sells differently.

  3. Step 3

    Sales management

A target, a review routine and someone who owns the number.

Start here if the team has targets and no routine.

FAQ

Questions owners ask before they call.

Who writes the articles?
GullySales drafts from your own client conversations and your adviser reviews each piece before it is published. The firm's voice stays with the planner, and nothing goes up that the planner has not approved.
Can articles show example numbers?
Examples with figures can read as projections to a nervous reader. If one is needed to explain a process, label it clearly as an illustration and ask your own adviser to approve it. Advertising rules differ by registration.
How do we know whether the content works?
Look at which articles were read before an enquiry and which the planner hands to clients in meetings. An article that clients ask for is doing its job, whatever the page count says.
How much does it cost?
There is no price list, because the work differs by business. The fee is scoped after we have read your brief and spoken to you, and put in writing before anything starts, split into our time, your media spend and production.
How long is the contract?
The term is agreed in writing after we have spoken, along with the fee and the reporting. It is never a default twelve months, and renewal is decided on the numbers against the baseline recorded at the start.
How soon will we see results?
It depends on the trade, the channel and what is already in place. After we have read your brief and spoken to you, we say what we would expect to move first and how it will be measured against the baseline. Nothing here is guaranteed.
Who will actually do the work?
The person you speak to before anything starts. We work from one office in Nagarbhavi, Bengaluru, with no account managers in between.
What do you need from us?
Your brief, and a conversation. After that, access to whatever this work touches, such as your website, your accounts or your enquiry record, and time with the people who handle your enquiries.
What if we are not happy with the work?
Tell us and the plan changes. Everything is reported against the baseline, so a number that is not moving is visible to both sides. The term is in your written scope, and the refund and cancellation policy sets out the rest.
