Retirement planning firms · Local SEO

Be the planner a retired neighbour names and a searching child finds.

Local SEO for a retirement planning firm means making the practice easy to find when someone searches for a planner in their own city or locality. GullySales sets up the Google Business Profile and the local pages, and checks the details against your registration.

Scope, fee, reporting and term are agreed in writing after we have read your brief and spoken to you.

What local SEO means

Local SEO is the work of making your business show up for searches that name your town or locality, such as a service plus an area name. GullySales sets up locality pages, local citations and map listings so nearby customers find you before a competitor across town.

Last updated 18 Oct 2026. Rules for this trade differ by state and professional body, and they change. We describe restrictions in general terms, so check the current position with your own council or adviser before you publish anything.

For retirement planning firms

Where it usually goes wrong, and what we would do.

  • “A retiree wants to sit across a table”

People near retirement will not hand over a file to a voice on a screen. They look for an office in their own part of town with a known address, and they ask a neighbour first. A missing or wrong listing loses that visit.

  • “The child searches the parent's city, not their own”

A daughter in Dublin types the name of the Bengaluru locality where the parents live. A profile that lists only the practice's head-office suburb never appears for that search, and the family overseas books a planner nearer the parents' home.

  • “Reviews are a delicate matter for advisers”

A planner cannot ask clients for stories about their savings, and some rules limit testimonials. The profile can still carry accurate hours, services and a description, and your own adviser decides how reviews are handled.

What we do

What we deliver for retirement planning firms.

Every deliverable, what it covers for you, and the result it is there to produce. Nothing here is an extra.

  1. A completed Google Business Profile

Name, address, hours, services and a plain description, with the registration number entered only as your adviser approves.

Result: The profile shows the right address and services on a map search.

  2. Locality pages for the areas you serve

One page for each part of the city where clients live, naming how to reach the office and who the planner meets there.

Result: A search for a locality leads to a page that names it.

  3. Consistent listings across directories

The same name, address and phone details checked on the directories where the practice appears.

Result: Every listing shows one name and one address.

  4. A guide for handling reviews with your adviser

A short note on what the front desk may say when a client offers a review, written against your registration.

Result: The desk knows what to say, and what to leave unsaid.

  5. A parent-city enquiry route

A line on the profile and page for families abroad that explains how a visit or video call is arranged.

Result: A child overseas can see how to book for a parent.

How the result is measured

  • Map pack ranking
  • Local search visibility
  • Enquiries by locality

Recorded as a baseline before work starts, so every later report has an honest comparison.

How it works

How the local SEO work runs

The work itself, in order. How an engagement starts, from your brief to a written scope, is set out on our method page.

  1. 1

    Audit every listing

We check the Google Business Profile and directory listings for every branch against what should actually be shown.

  2. 2

    Complete and correct

Profiles are filled in fully and inconsistent details are corrected across every directory found.

  3. 3

    Build location pages

Each branch gets a page written for its own area, not a copy of the head office page with the address changed.

  4. 4

    Set up review handling

A simple process for requesting and responding to reviews is put in place with whoever is closest to the customer.

  5. 5

    Report and adjust

Map actions and enquiries per branch are recorded, and the branches falling behind come first in the next round of work.

Where this fits

Three pieces of sales work, in this order.

This work sits inside sales process design, at stage 1, prospecting and lead generation. The audit comes before it, and sales management keeps it running.

  1. Step 1

    Sales audit

Find where deals are being lost and what to fix first.

Start here if you cannot say where orders are lost.

  2. Step 2 · you are here

    Sales process design

One written way to sell, from first enquiry to repeat order.

Start here if every salesperson sells differently.

  3. Step 3

    Sales management

A target, a review routine and someone who owns the number.

Start here if the team has targets and no routine.

FAQ

Questions owners ask before they call.

Not here? More answers, or ask on WhatsApp.

We work from a rented room. Can we still list the address?
Yes, if clients actually meet you there. Use the address where the meeting happens and check the platform's current rules on shared spaces. A listing with an address no client can visit risks suspension.
Can we ask satisfied clients to leave reviews?
That depends on your registration and the platform's current rules, so ask your own adviser before you do. GullySales will not write a script that invites clients to praise results or describe their money.
Do we need a separate page for each locality?
Only for localities where you meet clients or have a real reason to be named. Pages written for a place with nothing true to say about it add nothing for the reader.
How much does it cost?
There is no price list, because the work differs by business. The fee is scoped after we have read your brief and spoken to you, and put in writing before anything starts, split into our time, your media spend and production.
How long is the contract?
The term is agreed in writing after we have spoken, along with the fee and the reporting. It is never a default twelve months, and renewal is decided on the numbers against the baseline recorded at the start.
How soon will we see results?
It depends on the trade, the channel and what is already in place. After we have read your brief and spoken to you, we say what we would expect to move first and how it will be measured against the baseline. Nothing here is guaranteed.
Who will actually do the work?
The person you speak to before anything starts. We work from one office in Nagarbhavi, Bengaluru, with no account managers in between.
What do you need from us?
Your brief, and a conversation. After that, access to whatever this work touches, such as your website, your accounts or your enquiry record, and time with the people who handle your enquiries.
What if we are not happy with the work?
Tell us and the plan changes. Everything is reported against the baseline, so a number that is not moving is visible to both sides. The term is in your written scope, and the refund and cancellation policy sets out the rest.
