Banks · Sales coaching

Coach a loan officer on the deal they almost lost last week, not a generic sales theory.

Sales coaching for a bank means reviewing actual recent enquiries, wins and losses with loan officers and relationship managers. It builds on those specific situations, not generic sales technique. GullySales runs this coaching around your real, current pipeline.

Scope, fee, reporting and term are agreed in writing after we have read your brief and spoken to you.

What sales coaching means

Sales coaching is ongoing, one-to-one feedback on a specific salesperson's calls and deals. It differs from training because it continues after the session and is aimed at one person at a time. GullySales listens to real calls and reviews live deals to coach on what actually happened, not a hypothetical.

Last updated 5 Oct 2026. Rules for this trade differ by state and professional body, and they change. We describe restrictions in general terms, so check the current position with your own council or adviser before you publish anything.

For banks

Where it usually goes wrong, and what we would do.

  • “Recent losses are the most useful coaching material available”

Reviewing exactly why a specific loan enquiry was lost, whether to a faster-processing competitor or an unclear explanation of terms, teaches more than an abstract training module.

  • “Coaching should be product-specific, not generalised”

The skills needed to close a home loan differ from those needed to build a corporate banking relationship. Coaching works best when it focuses on the specific product a team is actually selling.

  • “Peer coaching surfaces what a manager alone might miss”

A high-performing relationship manager explaining their own approach to a specific objection to colleagues often lands better than the same advice delivered top-down by a manager.

What we do

What we deliver for banks.

Every deliverable, what it covers for you, and the result it is there to produce. Nothing here is an extra.

  1. Recent-case coaching sessions

Sessions reviewing a specific recent enquiry, win or loss, rather than an abstract sales theory module.

Result: A loan officer learns from what actually just happened, not a generic example.

  2. Product-specific coaching tracks

Separate coaching content for home loan closing skills against corporate relationship-building skills.

Result: Coaching matches the actual product a team is selling.

  3. Peer coaching sessions

Structured time for a high-performing relationship manager to explain their approach to a specific objection to colleagues.

Result: Advice lands better coming from a peer than a manager alone.

  4. Coaching tied to the current pipeline

Sessions built around your real, current enquiries rather than disconnected past examples.

Result: Coaching stays relevant to what the team is working on right now.

How the result is measured

  • Individual conversion rate
  • Coaching sessions completed
  • Improvement against personal baseline

Recorded as a baseline before work starts, so every later report has an honest comparison.

What to coach, enquiry by enquiry

Listen to these six moments in a loan enquiry and coach what you hear.

Use a counter visit, a DSA call or a WhatsApp thread from last week. Mark the moment where the customer went quiet.

The opening question
Check that the officer asks what the money is for and when it is needed before naming a scheme. An opening that starts with the scheme name sounds like a brochure.
Rate, fee and charges
Listen for the interest rate, processing fee and prepayment terms given together, read from the current rate card. Coach against quoting a rate from memory.
The documents list
When a customer says they will bring papers later, the officer should send a written list on WhatsApp: salary slips and Form 16 for salaried, ITR and GST returns for business.
Eligibility and a decline
Coach the officer to say plainly what eligibility rests on, such as CIBIL score, income and existing EMIs, and what the customer can fix before applying again.
The cross-sell offer
Listen for insurance or a credit card pushed in the middle of a loan call. Coach one fit question first, such as whether the customer already has cover, and follow the bank's own mis-selling policy.
Logging at the loan desk
After a counter enquiry, check that the product, amount, source and next call date are in the shared sheet, with one named owner for the follow-up.

How it works

From your first message to the first report.

No open-ended retainer. Every step gives you something in writing.

  1. First

    Your brief

You tell us what you need in a few short steps: your business, what you want, where enquiries come from and how they are handled.

  2. After the brief

A conversation and a written scope

We read it, then talk with whoever handles your enquiries. If you want our help, the scope, the fee and the reporting come in writing, and nothing starts before you have read them.

  3. Before work starts

    Baseline recorded

The numbers this work is meant to move, such as enquiries, quotations, orders, visits or renewals, written down so every later report has an honest comparison.

  4. After the baseline

    The first fix goes live

The fix we agreed to start with is put in place and measured against the baseline, whether that is a reply, a follow-up, a page, a listing or the handover between marketing and sales.

  5. As agreed

    Report against the baseline

What moved, what did not, and what changes next, in plain words. How often you get it is set in writing before work starts.

  6. At renewal

    Renew on the numbers

The term ends and you decide whether to continue from the results. The length is agreed in writing before anything starts.

How the sales coaching work runs

  1. 1

    Assess starting point

We review recent calls and deal outcomes for each rep to see where coaching will help most.

  2. 2

    Build individual plans

A short, specific plan is set for each rep, not a shared curriculum.

  3. 3

    Run the coaching sessions

Sessions happen on a regular schedule, built around real recent calls and deals.

  4. 4

    Track progress

We track whether the specific focus areas are actually improving, call by call.

  5. 5

    Adjust the plan

Focus areas are updated as a rep improves or as new gaps appear.

Why us

Why owners pick GullySales over an agency.

  • Marketing and sales, as one job

Most agencies stop at the enquiry. We also fix what happens after it: the reply, the follow-up, the quote and the CRM.

  • The person on the first call does the work

No account managers in between. You are never handed to someone you have not met.

  • A baseline before anything starts

Your numbers are written down on day one, so every later report compares against something honest.

  • The fee in writing, split three ways

Our time, your media spend and production on separate lines. You always see what goes to us.

  • No guarantees we cannot keep

The term is agreed in writing and never a default twelve months. We never promise a ranking or a lead count, because nobody controls those.

  • One office, and we say so

Nagarbhavi, Bengaluru. We work across India by call and WhatsApp and travel when a session needs to be in person.

FAQ

Questions owners ask before they call.

Not here? More answers, or ask on WhatsApp.

How often should coaching sessions happen?
Regularly, reviewing recent real cases rather than as an occasional, disconnected training event. Agree the routine with the branch head so it survives busy periods.
Who should be coached?
Loan officers, relationship managers and branch staff who interact directly with customers on sales conversations.
Can we record loan enquiry calls for coaching without breaking privacy rules?
Call recording touches customer data, and a bank has its own policy and compliance team on it. Ask compliance to approve a one-line notice at the start of the call, limit who can listen, and delete recordings as your policy says. Then pick calls for coaching.
How do we coach a senior relationship manager who has met targets for years?
Start from one of their own recent deals, not from a rule. Ask them to walk through a loss and say what they would change. Senior people take feedback better when asked to explain, and their answers often become the best material for the junior officers.
How much does it cost?
There is no price list, because the work differs by business. The fee is scoped after we have read your brief and spoken to you, and put in writing before anything starts, split into our time, your media spend and production.
How long is the contract?
The term is agreed in writing after we have spoken, along with the fee and the reporting. It is never a default twelve months, and renewal is decided on the numbers against the baseline recorded at the start.
How soon will we see results?
It depends on the trade, the channel and what is already in place. After we have read your brief and spoken to you, we say what we would expect to move first and how it will be measured against the baseline. Nothing here is guaranteed.
Who will actually do the work?
The person you speak to before anything starts. We work from one office in Nagarbhavi, Bengaluru, with no account managers in between.
What do you need from us?
Your brief, and a conversation. After that, access to whatever this work touches, such as your website, your accounts or your enquiry record, and time with the people who handle your enquiries.
What if we are not happy with the work?
Tell us and the plan changes. Everything is reported against the baseline, so a number that is not moving is visible to both sides. The term is in your written scope, and the refund and cancellation policy sets out the rest.
