Mutual fund distributors · Branding
Every word on your card is a compliance decision as well as a design one.
For a distributor the identity question is partly regulatory, because what you may call yourself, and whose marks you may show, follows the registration you hold. GullySales settles the wording with your compliance adviser, then builds the card, the review folder and the profiles around it.
Scope, fee, reporting and term are agreed in writing after we have read your brief and spoken to you.

What branding means
Branding is what a customer remembers about your business beyond the product, including your name, colours, tone of voice and what you are known for locally. GullySales sets or corrects this once and applies it consistently across your website, signage and adverts so the business looks like one company everywhere.

Sales and marketing for mutual fund distributors, the overview.
Last updated 5 Oct 2026. Rules for this trade differ by state and professional body, and they change. We describe restrictions in general terms, so check the current position with your own council or adviser before you publish anything.
For mutual fund distributors
Where it usually goes wrong, and what we would do.
“Adviser and distributor are not two words for one thing”
They are separate registrations with separate obligations. A card using the wrong one is a public statement about a licence you do not hold.
“A fund house's mark belongs to the fund house”
Putting it on your material can suggest an endorsement nobody gave you. Permission is asked for in writing, not assumed from a dealership.
“The folder you leave behind is the brand”
Investors judge a practice by what arrives after the meeting: the position, the note, the goal sheet. Most distributors leave nothing at all.
“A family practice needs a name the next one can carry”
Where the firm is your own name, a son or daughter joining inherits a brand built around somebody else. That is worth deciding early.
What we do
What we deliver for mutual fund distributors.
Every deliverable, what it covers for you, and the result it is there to produce. Nothing here is an extra.
The wording settled once and used everywhere
How you describe yourself, which registration is stated and what is never claimed, agreed with your compliance adviser and then applied without variation.
Result: Every piece of your material says the same thing.
Card, letterhead and review pack
Designed with the ARN, the required disclaimer and your contact details in place, in a form you can print locally without the layout collapsing.
Result: What you hand over looks like a practice.
A rule for using fund house names and marks
What may be shown, what needs written permission, and whom to ask at each fund house, kept as a short note anyone in the office can follow.
Result: Nobody uses a mark that was never granted.
The review meeting folder
A standard set of what an investor takes home after a review: the position, the goal, what was agreed and the date of the next meeting.
Result: The meeting leaves something behind.
Profiles matched across every platform
Search, professional networks, messaging apps and your site carrying identical wording, registration details and photograph.
Result: A prospect checking three places sees one practice.
A pass to catch drift
A short check over every public description and piece of printed material, because wording changes quietly as people rewrite things.
Result: Drift is caught before anybody else notices it.
How the result is measured
- Recognition in customer feedback
- Consistency across channels
- Repeat enquiries by name
Recorded as a baseline before work starts, so every later report has an honest comparison.
Positioning in one sentence
The sentence a mutual fund distributor can fill in once the wording has been checked against the registration.
We help [type of family or business owner] start and stay invested in mutual funds, within what our AMFI registration permits, and unlike [an app] we [one service a person gives].
- Who it is for
- A salaried family starting SIPs, a business owner with surplus cash, a retiree, a young professional on an app. Pick the group whose questions you answer best and write for them.
- What you do, within your registration
- Say that you distribute mutual fund schemes and help clients stay invested, using words your registration supports. Do not describe yourself as doing something your registration does not cover.
- What an investor gets that an app does not
- Perhaps a person who calls when markets fall, a yearly review of the family's goals, or help with a parent's paperwork. Pick what you do for every client and say it plainly.
- The proof you can show
- Registration details as required, years in practice stated as a plain fact, and client words only as your compliance adviser permits. Never show past clients' returns as proof.
- Words investors ignore
- 'Wealth creation', 'top performers' and 'secure future' promise outcomes you do not control and invite scrutiny. Describe the service instead: reviews, reminders and paperwork.
- The name and tagline test
- Read the name and tagline as a regulator would. Remove anything that suggests advice, assured returns or an association with a fund house you do not hold. Then check the name against others near you.

How it works
From your first message to the first report.
No open-ended retainer. Every step gives you something in writing.
First
Your brief
You tell us what you need in a few short steps: your business, what you want, where enquiries come from and how they are handled.
After the brief
A conversation and a written scope
We read it, then talk with whoever handles your enquiries. If you want our help, the scope, the fee and the reporting come in writing, and nothing starts before you have read them.
Before work starts
Baseline recorded
The numbers this work is meant to move, such as enquiries, quotations, orders, visits or renewals, written down so every later report has an honest comparison.
After the baseline
The first fix goes live
The fix we agreed to start with is put in place and measured against the baseline, whether that is a reply, a follow-up, a page, a listing or the handover between marketing and sales.
As agreed
Report against the baseline
What moved, what did not, and what changes next, in plain words. How often you get it is set in writing before work starts.
At renewal
Renew on the numbers
The term ends and you decide whether to continue from the results. The length is agreed in writing before anything starts.
How the branding work runs
- 1
Interview customers and team
We talk to real buyers, won and lost, and to people inside the business who deal with customers daily.
- 2
Review the competitive field
We look at how the nearest competitors present themselves so the position is not accidentally identical.
- 3
Draft the position
A first version of the positioning statement and messaging pillars is written and checked against what customers actually said.
- 4
Test it against real conversations
The draft is tried out in a real sales call or two before it is finalised, since a position that does not survive a real conversation needs rework.
- 5
Hand over the rollout brief
The final position, pillars and not-for list are documented for your team and any agency to apply consistently.
Why us
Why owners pick GullySales over an agency.
Marketing and sales, as one job
Most agencies stop at the enquiry. We also fix what happens after it: the reply, the follow-up, the quote and the CRM.
The person on the first call does the work
No account managers in between. You are never handed to someone you have not met.
A baseline before anything starts
Your numbers are written down on day one, so every later report compares against something honest.
The fee in writing, split three ways
Our time, your media spend and production on separate lines. You always see what goes to us.
No guarantees we cannot keep
The term is agreed in writing and never a default twelve months. We never promise a ranking or a lead count, because nobody controls those.
