Mutual fund distributors · Local SEO

Be findable in the area where the signature is actually collected.

Local search matters to a distributor because the paperwork is still signed somewhere, and investors look for a person who will come to them. GullySales sets up the listing for a practice run from home, gets the category and the wording right, and names the areas you visit.

Scope, fee, reporting and term are agreed in writing after we have read your brief and spoken to you.

Realistic editorial illustration of mutual fund distributors at work in India

What local SEO means

Local SEO is the work of making your business show up for searches that name your town or locality, such as a service plus an area name. GullySales sets up locality pages, local citations and map listings so nearby customers find you before a competitor across town.

Last updated 5 Oct 2026. Rules for this trade differ by state and professional body, and they change. We describe restrictions in general terms, so check the current position with your own council or adviser before you publish anything.

For mutual fund distributors

Where it usually goes wrong, and what we would do.

  • “Most distributors work from home and should not show the address”

A listing can serve an area without publishing where you live. Getting that setting wrong is the commonest mistake in this trade.

  • “The category word is a compliance decision”

Distributor and adviser are different registrations. Choosing the description that attracts more searches puts the wrong one on public record.

  • “Older investors are the ones searching locally”

They want somebody within reach who will sit down with the forms. That is also the investor least likely to move to an app.

  • “The paperwork is physical even when the money is not”

A mandate, a nomination change and a transfer still need a signature and an original document. Distance is a real factor in who gets chosen.

What we do

What we deliver for mutual fund distributors.

Every deliverable, what it covers for you, and the result it is there to produce. Nothing here is an extra.

  1. A listing set up to serve an area, not show an address

Configured to cover the localities you visit without publishing a home address, with hours reflecting when you genuinely take calls.

Result: You are findable without being on display.

  2. Category and description checked against the rules

The listing describing you as a mutual fund distributor, with the ARN shown and nothing implying a registration you do not hold.

Result: The public record says what you actually are.

  3. A page for each locality you visit

The areas where you meet investors and collect documents, written out with what a first meeting there involves and how long it takes.

Result: A nearby search finds somebody who will travel.

  4. A review request that keeps away from performance

A short ask sent after a meeting, with suggested wording that holds the comment on service and away from returns and gains.

Result: Reviews arrive that you can safely keep.

  5. Your registration details shown identically everywhere

ARN, qualification and firm name the same on the listing, the site and your professional profiles, checked once a quarter.

Result: Nothing online contradicts your paperwork.

  6. A note on calls by locality

Calls and direction requests from the listing, which localities they came from, and how many turned into a first meeting.

Result: You can see whether the listing brings real people.

How the result is measured

  • Map pack ranking
  • Local search visibility
  • Enquiries by locality

Recorded as a baseline before work starts, so every later report has an honest comparison.

What Google weighs here

How an investor finds an adviser nearby, and what to fix first.

ARN and registration
State your AMFI registration number as it appears on your certificate, and your NISM certification if you hold it. An investor checks these before signing a form.
Description wording
Describe what you do in plain terms, such as helping investors start SIPs. Rules on what a distributor may say change, so check with AMFI and SEBI guidance before adding any claim.
Home address privacy
If you work from home, use a service area and hide the address. Many distributors meet investors at the investor's home or at an agreed place.
Locality list
Name the localities you visit to collect signatures. Older investors search for someone near them who can sit at the table with the papers.
Photographs of the office, not clients
Use your desk, your visiting card and your certificate photograph. Do not show client documents or name an investor.

Who it is for

This is written for these mutual fund distributors.

  • Individual AMFI-registered mutual fund distributors
  • Distributor firms with a small team of relationship managers
  • Distributors who also sell insurance and fixed deposits
  • Second-generation family distribution practices
  • Distributors serving NRIs and their families in India
  • Distributors focused on business owners and treasury money
  • Sub-brokers and platform-linked distributors
  • New distributors in their first years after NISM certification

How it works

From your first message to the first report.

No open-ended retainer. Every step gives you something in writing.

  1. First

    Your brief

You tell us what you need in a few short steps: your business, what you want, where enquiries come from and how they are handled.

  2. After the brief

A conversation and a written scope

We read it, then talk with whoever handles your enquiries. If you want our help, the scope, the fee and the reporting come in writing, and nothing starts before you have read them.

  3. Before work starts

    Baseline recorded

The numbers this work is meant to move, such as enquiries, quotations, orders, visits or renewals, written down so every later report has an honest comparison.

  4. After the baseline

    The first fix goes live

The fix we agreed to start with is put in place and measured against the baseline, whether that is a reply, a follow-up, a page, a listing or the handover between marketing and sales.

  5. As agreed

    Report against the baseline

What moved, what did not, and what changes next, in plain words. How often you get it is set in writing before work starts.

  6. At renewal

    Renew on the numbers

The term ends and you decide whether to continue from the results. The length is agreed in writing before anything starts.

How the local SEO work runs

  1. 1

    Audit every listing

We check the Google Business Profile and directory listings for every branch against what should actually be shown.

  2. 2

    Complete and correct

Profiles are filled in fully and inconsistent details are corrected across every directory found.

  3. 3

    Build location pages

Each branch gets a page written for its own area, not a copy of the head office page with the address changed.

  4. 4

    Set up review handling

A simple process for requesting and responding to reviews is put in place with whoever is closest to the customer.

  5. 5

    Report and adjust

Map actions and enquiries per branch are reported, and branches falling behind are prioritised the next month.

Why us

Why owners pick GullySales over an agency.

  • Marketing and sales, as one job

Most agencies stop at the enquiry. We also fix what happens after it: the reply, the follow-up, the quote and the CRM.

  • The person on the first call does the work

No account managers in between. You are never handed to someone you have not met.

  • A baseline before anything starts

Your numbers are written down on day one, so every later report compares against something honest.

  • The fee in writing, split three ways

Our time, your media spend and production on separate lines. You always see what goes to us.

  • No guarantees we cannot keep

The term is agreed in writing and never a default twelve months. We never promise a ranking or a lead count, because nobody controls those.

  • One office, and we say so

Nagarbhavi, Bengaluru. We work across India by call and WhatsApp and travel when a session needs to be in person.

#257, 3rd floor, Sri Nanjundeshwara Complex, Nagarbhavi 8th Block, Outer Ring Road. How we work.

FAQ

Questions owners ask before they call.

Not here? More answers, or ask on WhatsApp.

We work from home. Should we be on Maps at all?
Yes, set up to serve an area rather than to show an address. Investors do look for somebody nearby, and forms still need signing in person. Your home address does not have to appear anywhere.
Which listing category should we choose?
The one matching the registration you hold, even where another looks more searched. Picking an advisory description to catch extra traffic creates a public record you would then have to defend.
Can we show the ARN on the profile?
Yes, as a plain fact, written as on your certificate, alongside the name on the profile. It lets an investor check you with the registry. Keep the same number and name on your website and visiting card.
A client posted a review that mentions a loss. How do we reply?
Reply politely without discussing the investment, the fund or the amount. Thank the person and invite a call. Never ask for reviews with returns in mind, and check current AMFI and SEBI guidance on what may be said publicly.
How much does it cost?
There is no price list, because the work differs by business. The fee is scoped after we have read your brief and spoken to you, and put in writing before anything starts, split into our time, your media spend and production.
How long is the contract?
The term is agreed in writing after we have spoken, along with the fee and the reporting. It is never a default twelve months, and renewal is decided on the numbers against the baseline recorded at the start.
How soon will we see results?
It depends on the trade, the channel and what is already in place. After we have read your brief and spoken to you, we say what we would expect to move first and how it will be measured against the baseline. Nothing here is guaranteed.
Who will actually do the work?
The person you speak to before anything starts. We work from one office in Nagarbhavi, Bengaluru, with no account managers in between.
What do you need from us?
Your brief, and a conversation. After that, access to whatever this work touches, such as your website, your accounts or your enquiry record, and time with the people who handle your enquiries.
What if we are not happy with the work?
Tell us and the plan changes. Everything is reported against the baseline, so a number that is not moving is visible to both sides. The term is in your written scope, and the refund and cancellation policy sets out the rest.
