Mutual fund distributors · Lead generation

The enquiry is an introduction, and it arrives through somebody's client.

For a distributor a lead is a family being introduced, usually by an existing investor or a chartered accountant. GullySales scripts the ask that produces those introductions, sets the questions that show whether money is arriving, and builds the follow-up between the first call and the meeting.

Scope, fee, reporting and term are agreed in writing after we have read your brief and spoken to you.

What lead generation means

Lead generation is the combined work of every channel that brings in a new enquiry, whether from search, adverts, referrals or a stall at an exhibition. GullySales runs these channels together and reports the number of enquiries each one produced, not the activity behind it.

For mutual fund distributors

Where it usually goes wrong, and what we would do.

  • “The qualifying question is when, not how much”

A bonus in March, a deposit maturing in August, a flat being sold. Money arriving on a date is what makes the conversation real.

  • “You are introduced to a family, not a person”

The spouse is at the first meeting and often decides afterwards. A follow-up reaching only the person who rang is half a follow-up.

  • “A form fill with no referrer behaves differently”

Somebody who found you cold is comparing you with an app. Treat that enquiry as a different animal and expect to explain a great deal more.

  • “The ask has a moment and most distributors miss it”

The end of a review meeting that went well is when an investor will introduce you. A month later the feeling has worn off.

What we do

What we deliver for mutual fund distributors.

Every deliverable, what it covers for you, and the result it is there to produce. Nothing here is an extra.

  1. A referral ask scripted for the end of a review

The words to use when a review has gone well, who to ask for by description rather than by name, and how what was promised gets written down.

Result: Introductions come from across the book, not the same four people.

  2. An introduction note for accountants and other professionals

One page a chartered accountant can forward, saying what you do, what you are registered as, and what their client can expect at a first meeting.

Result: A professional can introduce you without composing anything.

  3. A first-call structure

What to ask before agreeing a meeting: what money is arriving and when, who else decides, and what they have already been told elsewhere.

Result: You meet families where a decision is genuinely near.

  4. A follow-up sequence between call and meeting

What is sent, when, and to whom, including the spouse where permission was given, so a fortnight's gap does not cool an introduction.

Result: Fewer first meetings quietly fall through.

  5. An enquiry register kept by source

Every new name recorded with who introduced them, the date, what was discussed and what happened next, kept in a form you can search.

Result: You can thank the right people and repeat what worked.

  6. A count of first meetings by source

Introductions, professional referrals, search and everything else, counted and set against the numbers taken before the work began.

Result: The book's growth stops being a feeling.

How the result is measured

  • Enquiries generated
  • Cost per enquiry
  • Enquiries by source

Recorded as a baseline before work starts, so every later report has an honest comparison.

Where enquiries come from

A mutual fund distributor's new clients arrive through a few kinds of introduction, and each should be noted with consent.

Existing client's introduction
Record who introduced whom, how they know each other and whether the new person agreed to be contacted. Call only after the introducer has told them to expect it.
Chartered accountant or doctor introduction
Log the professional, what they told the family and whether KYC papers exist. Send the professional a short note after the first meeting, without sharing any investment details.
Seminar or society talk attendee
Write down the event, the question the person asked and a preferred time to talk. Contact only those who asked for it, and keep your messages within AMFI and SEBI communication rules.
Maturing fixed deposit or bank money
Note the date the deposit matures and the amount as the client says it. Offer a call before the date, since money left unattended goes back to the same bank.
Family member of a client
Record the relationship, and whether the household is already invested with you. Ask the client first, then open a separate record for the family member.
WhatsApp message from a stranger
Record the message, the number and the time. Reply that you can talk on a call, ask whether KYC is done and do not suggest funds in a chat message.

How it works

From your first message to the first report.

No open-ended retainer. Every step gives you something in writing.

  1. First

    Your brief

You tell us what you need in a few short steps: your business, what you want, where enquiries come from and how they are handled.

  2. After the brief

A conversation and a written scope

We read it, then talk with whoever handles your enquiries. If you want our help, the scope, the fee and the reporting come in writing, and nothing starts before you have read them.

  3. Before work starts

    Baseline recorded

The numbers this work is meant to move, such as enquiries, quotations, orders, visits or renewals, written down so every later report has an honest comparison.

  4. After the baseline

    The first fix goes live

The fix we agreed to start with is put in place and measured against the baseline, whether that is a reply, a follow-up, a page, a listing or the handover between marketing and sales.

  5. As agreed

    Report against the baseline

What moved, what did not, and what changes next, in plain words. How often you get it is set in writing before work starts.

  6. At renewal

    Renew on the numbers

The term ends and you decide whether to continue from the results. The length is agreed in writing before anything starts.

How the lead generation work runs

  1. 1

    Understand your capacity

We agree how many enquiries your sales team can actually handle well, so the system is not built to overwhelm it.

  2. 2

    Audit current sources

We check what already brings in enquiries today, even informally, before adding anything new.

  3. 3

    Strategise the channel mix

Content, search and paid channels are chosen based on where your buyers already look.

  4. 4

    Implement capture and follow-up

Pages, forms and a follow-up process are built and connected end to end.

  5. 5

    Measure and optimise

We track enquiry volume and quality and adjust the channel mix to match.

Why us

Why owners pick GullySales over an agency.

  • Marketing and sales, as one job

Most agencies stop at the enquiry. We also fix what happens after it: the reply, the follow-up, the quote and the CRM.

  • The person on the first call does the work

No account managers in between. You are never handed to someone you have not met.

  • A baseline before anything starts

Your numbers are written down on day one, so every later report compares against something honest.

  • The fee in writing, split three ways

Our time, your media spend and production on separate lines. You always see what goes to us.

  • No guarantees we cannot keep

The term is agreed in writing and never a default twelve months. We never promise a ranking or a lead count, because nobody controls those.

  • One office, and we say so

Nagarbhavi, Bengaluru. We work across India by call and WhatsApp and travel when a session needs to be in person.

FAQ

Questions owners ask before they call.

Clients promise to introduce someone and never do. What then?
Ask differently. A general request produces nothing. A specific one works: has a colleague just had a bonus, does a parent have a deposit maturing. Write down what was said and go back to it in a fortnight.
Should we buy investor leads from a website?
We would not. Those names are sold to several people at once and arrive expecting a return promise you cannot give. The same effort put into two accountants produces fewer names and much better ones.
A stranger messages asking which fund to buy. What do we record and reply?
Record the message and the source. Do not recommend a fund in a chat. Reply with an invitation to a call, and ask whether KYC is done and what the money is for. The purpose and time horizon come before any fund is named.
How do we log an enquiry from a client's spouse or grown-up child?
Open a new record linked to the household, with the relationship and the person's consent to be contacted. Their goals and risk comfort may differ from the client's, so do not simply add them to the existing plan.
How much does it cost?
There is no price list, because the work differs by business. The fee is scoped after we have read your brief and spoken to you, and put in writing before anything starts, split into our time, your media spend and production.
How long is the contract?
The term is agreed in writing after we have spoken, along with the fee and the reporting. It is never a default twelve months, and renewal is decided on the numbers against the baseline recorded at the start.
How soon will we see results?
It depends on the trade, the channel and what is already in place. After we have read your brief and spoken to you, we say what we would expect to move first and how it will be measured against the baseline. Nothing here is guaranteed.
Who will actually do the work?
The person you speak to before anything starts. We work from one office in Nagarbhavi, Bengaluru, with no account managers in between.
What do you need from us?
Your brief, and a conversation. After that, access to whatever this work touches, such as your website, your accounts or your enquiry record, and time with the people who handle your enquiries.
What if we are not happy with the work?
Tell us and the plan changes. Everything is reported against the baseline, so a number that is not moving is visible to both sides. The term is in your written scope, and the refund and cancellation policy sets out the rest.
