Gate, grill and fencing fabricators · Referral marketing

The contractor who sends you one gate has ten more sites.

Referral marketing for a gate, grill and fencing fabricator is making it easy for past owners, builders, architects and dealers to send you the next job, and recording who sent it. GullySales builds the ask, the thank-you and the register that tracks each referral to a work order.

Scope, fee, reporting and term are agreed in writing after we have read your brief and spoken to you.

What referral marketing means

Referral marketing is asking an existing customer to recommend you to someone they know, usually with a reward for both sides. It differs from a loyalty scheme because it brings in a new customer rather than a repeat purchase. GullySales builds the ask and the reward into a point where a customer is already satisfied.

For gate, grill and fencing fabricators

Where it usually goes wrong, and what we would do.

  • “The neighbour sees your gate every day”

A finished gate is a signboard on the street. A small plate with your number, with the owner's consent, brings enquiries from people who walk past.

  • “Builders and architects send repeat work”

One contractor with several projects is worth more than ten single homes, but he needs a reason to remember you and a person to call.

  • “A referral that is not recorded is not thanked”

When the order arrives and nobody notes who sent it, the sender never hears thank you and stops sending.

What we do

What we deliver for gate, grill and fencing fabricators.

Every deliverable, what it covers for you, and the result it is there to produce. Nothing here is an extra.

  1. A referral register

A sheet recording each enquiry's source, the person who referred it and the outcome.

Result: You can see who sends work and thank them.

  2. A handover ask for past owners

A line at handover asking the owner to mention you to a neighbour or relative, and a card with the number.

Result: Satisfied owners are asked when the gate is new.

  3. A contractor and architect programme

A named contact, a supply profile and a way to send drawings, for the people who place several jobs.

Result: A builder knows who to call for the next site.

  4. A thank-you routine

A call or a small gesture that is not cash for a referral, sent when a referred order is confirmed.

Result: The sender feels noticed, not paid.

  5. A gate plate with your contact

A small neat plate on the gate with the workshop name and number, fitted only with the owner's consent.

Result: Each fitted gate carries your name down the street.

How the result is measured

  • Referrals received
  • Referral conversion rate
  • Cost per referred customer

Recorded as a baseline before work starts, so every later report has an honest comparison.

How referrals work in this trade

The people who send a gate workshop its next order, and how to keep them sending.

Past owners and their neighbours
An owner is pleased at handover. Ask then, hand over a card, and fit a small plate on the gate with his permission. Write his name in the register as the source of any order that follows.
Builders and civil contractors
A contractor places gates, grills and railings across several sites. Give him one named contact, send photographs of your finished sites and keep the dates you promised. Record each site as a separate order.
Architects and interior designers
A designer chooses finishes for a client. Send details of the finishes you offer and a sample board, and answer his drawing queries on the same day. Never put your name on his work.
Steel yards and hardware dealers
Counter staff are asked who can make a gate. Leave a card and a few photographs, thank them when an order comes, and avoid paying a commission that will end up in the quote.
Apartment association secretaries
A secretary hears every resident's grill complaint. Offer a site visit for a block, and give one price format for all flats. Record the association and the flat for each order.
What never to do
Never hide a commission in the quote, promise a gift you will not give, pass a customer's number to others without asking, or pay a staffer at a builder's site to push your quote.

How it works

From your first message to the first report.

No open-ended retainer. Every step gives you something in writing.

  1. First

    Your brief

You tell us what you need in a few short steps: your business, what you want, where enquiries come from and how they are handled.

  2. After the brief

A conversation and a written scope

We read it, then talk with whoever handles your enquiries. If you want our help, the scope, the fee and the reporting come in writing, and nothing starts before you have read them.

  3. Before work starts

    Baseline recorded

The numbers this work is meant to move, such as enquiries, quotations, orders, visits or renewals, written down so every later report has an honest comparison.

  4. After the baseline

    The first fix goes live

The fix we agreed to start with is put in place and measured against the baseline, whether that is a reply, a follow-up, a page, a listing or the handover between marketing and sales.

  5. As agreed

    Report against the baseline

What moved, what did not, and what changes next, in plain words. How often you get it is set in writing before work starts.

  6. At renewal

    Renew on the numbers

The term ends and you decide whether to continue from the results. The length is agreed in writing before anything starts.

How the referral marketing work runs

  1. 1

Understand your margin and customer relationship

We agree what reward is genuinely sustainable and appropriate for your business and customer type.

  2. 2

    Audit existing informal referrals

We check how much word of mouth already happens, to size expectations for the formal programme realistically.

  3. 3

    Design the offer and mechanism

A specific reward and an easy sharing method are built and tested.

  4. 4

    Implement and promote

The programme is surfaced at the right moments in your customer journey.

  5. 5

    Measure and adjust

We track referrals and conversions, adjusting the reward or promotion if uptake is low.

Why us

Why owners pick GullySales over an agency.

  • Marketing and sales, as one job

Most agencies stop at the enquiry. We also fix what happens after it: the reply, the follow-up, the quote and the CRM.

  • The person on the first call does the work

No account managers in between. You are never handed to someone you have not met.

  • A baseline before anything starts

Your numbers are written down on day one, so every later report compares against something honest.

  • The fee in writing, split three ways

Our time, your media spend and production on separate lines. You always see what goes to us.

  • No guarantees we cannot keep

The term is agreed in writing and never a default twelve months. We never promise a ranking or a lead count, because nobody controls those.

  • One office, and we say so

Nagarbhavi, Bengaluru. We work across India by call and WhatsApp and travel when a session needs to be in person.

FAQ

Questions owners ask before they call.

Not here? More answers, or ask on WhatsApp.

Should we pay builders or contractors a commission for work?
Be careful. A hidden commission usually ends up inside the owner's quote, and he loses trust if he learns of it. If you agree one with a contractor, put it in writing and keep it separate from what the owner pays.
How do we know who sent an order?
Ask every caller how they heard of you, and write it down at the first call, not at the end. Add a field for the referrer's name on the enquiry sheet and check it when the order is confirmed.
Can we ask an architect to recommend us?
Yes. Send a few finished projects with details and offer to visit his site and look at the drawing. Ask what he needs from a fabricator, and fix that first. He will recommend you only after you have kept a date for him.
How often is too often to ask for referrals?
Ask at handover and again when you do a repaint or repair, because that is when the owner is pleased or relieved. Do not ring the same person every few weeks. Past customers should hear from you for a reason.
How much does it cost?
There is no price list, because the work differs by business. The fee is scoped after we have read your brief and spoken to you, and put in writing before anything starts, split into our time, your media spend and production.
How soon will we see results?
It depends on the trade, the channel and what is already in place. After we have read your brief and spoken to you, we say what we would expect to move first and how it will be measured against the baseline. Nothing here is guaranteed.
Who will actually do the work?
The person you speak to before anything starts. We work from one office in Nagarbhavi, Bengaluru, with no account managers in between.
What do you need from us?
Your brief, and a conversation. After that, access to whatever this work touches, such as your website, your accounts or your enquiry record, and time with the people who handle your enquiries.
What if we are not happy with the work?
Tell us and the plan changes. Everything is reported against the baseline, so a number that is not moving is visible to both sides. The term is in your written scope, and the refund and cancellation policy sets out the rest.
