Handyman and home maintenance services · Buyer journey

Know what a flat owner is thinking at each step, from the first drip to the second booking.

Buyer journey mapping for a handyman business means writing down what a customer does between noticing a fault and choosing who to call, and what they do after the repair. GullySales maps it from your own enquiry records and your technicians' stories, then fixes the weakest step.

Scope, fee, reporting and term are agreed in writing after we have read your brief and spoken to you.

What buyer journey means

The buyer journey is the sequence of steps a customer actually takes, from first hearing about you to deciding to buy, which is rarely a single visit or call. GullySales maps this sequence for your business and checks that something useful happens at each step instead of only at the final call.

For handyman and home maintenance services

Where it usually goes wrong, and what we would do.

  • “The decision takes minutes for a leak and weeks for a renovation”

A single page and routine for both loses the one in a hurry and bores the one who is planning.

  • “The customer asks others before calling”

A neighbour, a WhatsApp group or the building manager is asked first, and a firm absent from those conversations is not on the list.

  • “The journey ends at the invoice”

The customer is not asked for a review, not reminded of a service and not told what to do if the fault returns.

What we do

What we deliver for handyman and home maintenance services.

Every deliverable, what it covers for you, and the result it is there to produce. Nothing here is an extra.

  1. A journey map from your own records

A written map of the steps a customer took, taken from the enquiry sheet, call log and conversations with technicians.

Result: You see where customers actually drop out.

  2. Two routes, urgent and planned

A separate path for a leak or a tripped supply and for a planned job like waterproofing or a wardrobe, each with its own pages and replies.

Result: Each customer is met in the way they are buying.

  3. What to have ready at each step

A short list for each stage: what the customer asks and what you show them.

Result: Nothing is missing when the customer looks.

  4. A check of where enquiries are lost

The point where calls go unanswered, quotes go quiet or visits do not convert, recorded against the baseline.

Result: You know which step to fix first.

  5. Changes tested on one step at a time

One fix made, then measured against the baseline before the next.

Result: You can tell what worked.

How the result is measured

  • Drop-off rate by step
  • Time from first contact to sale
  • Steps with no content

Recorded as a baseline before work starts, so every later report has an honest comparison.

Stages of this buyer's journey

A flat owner passes through the same stages every time, but the pace and the questions change with the job.

Notices the fault
A drip, a trip or a jammed door. The owner first tries a quick fix, then asks the family. Be findable at this point with a page for the symptom, not only the job.
Asks around and searches
The owner asks a neighbour or a WhatsApp group, then searches. Your Business Profile, your page for the job and a reply on the group are what they see.
Compares two or three
They compare ratings, a call and the first reply. The business that answers with a clear next step, a visit slot and what the visit covers wins.
Calls or messages
The first question is when someone can come. Have a plain answer ready, a rule for the area you cover and a request for a photograph.
Visit and quote
The technician finds the cause and gives a written quote. The customer shows it to a spouse or landlord. Send the quote in a form that can be forwarded.
After the repair
The customer pays and moves on. Ask whether it is fine, send the review link and note when a service is due, so the second call is yours.

How it works

From your first message to the first report.

No open-ended retainer. Every step gives you something in writing.

  1. First

    Your brief

You tell us what you need in a few short steps: your business, what you want, where enquiries come from and how they are handled.

  2. After the brief

A conversation and a written scope

We read it, then talk with whoever handles your enquiries. If you want our help, the scope, the fee and the reporting come in writing, and nothing starts before you have read them.

  3. Before work starts

    Baseline recorded

The numbers this work is meant to move, such as enquiries, quotations, orders, visits or renewals, written down so every later report has an honest comparison.

  4. After the baseline

    The first fix goes live

The fix we agreed to start with is put in place and measured against the baseline, whether that is a reply, a follow-up, a page, a listing or the handover between marketing and sales.

  5. As agreed

    Report against the baseline

What moved, what did not, and what changes next, in plain words. How often you get it is set in writing before work starts.

  6. At renewal

    Renew on the numbers

The term ends and you decide whether to continue from the results. The length is agreed in writing before anything starts.

How the buyer journey work runs

  1. 1

    Understand the sales process

We walk through how a sale actually happens today, from the person who first answers an enquiry to the one who closes it.

  2. 2

    Audit the data

Website analytics, call logs and CRM records are pulled together to see where people actually drop out, not where they are assumed to.

  3. 3

    Interview buyers and staff

A handful of recent customers and the team who speak to them fill in the reasons behind the numbers.

  4. 4

    Build the map

Stages, touchpoints and drop-off points are set out in one document everyone can read the same way.

  5. 5

    Fix and measure

Each fix is implemented against the stage it addresses, and the drop-off rate at that stage is checked afterwards.

Why us

Why owners pick GullySales over an agency.

  • Marketing and sales, as one job

Most agencies stop at the enquiry. We also fix what happens after it: the reply, the follow-up, the quote and the CRM.

  • The person on the first call does the work

No account managers in between. You are never handed to someone you have not met.

  • A baseline before anything starts

Your numbers are written down on day one, so every later report compares against something honest.

  • The fee in writing, split three ways

Our time, your media spend and production on separate lines. You always see what goes to us.

  • No guarantees we cannot keep

The term is agreed in writing and never a default twelve months. We never promise a ranking or a lead count, because nobody controls those.

  • One office, and we say so

Nagarbhavi, Bengaluru. We work across India by call and WhatsApp and travel when a session needs to be in person.

#257, 3rd floor, Sri Nanjundeshwara Complex, Nagarbhavi 8th Block, Outer Ring Road. How we work.

FAQ

Questions owners ask before they call.

Not here? More answers, or ask on WhatsApp.

How long does a customer take to decide?
For a leak, minutes. For waterproofing or a modular fitting, weeks, with a quote or two in between. Look at your own records to see the gap between first call and booking for each job.
Who else is involved in the decision?
A spouse, a landlord, a building manager or an association. The visit report and quote should be written so any of them can read it without a call.
What about customers who go quiet after a quote?
Many are comparing or waiting on a landlord. One call asking what is holding them back, and a note of the answer, is worth more than a second quote.
How do we find where customers drop out?
Use your own enquiry sheet. Count calls received, answered, quotes given, visits made and jobs done in a sample of enquiries. The largest drop is where to begin.
How much does it cost?
There is no price list, because the work differs by business. The fee is scoped after we have read your brief and spoken to you, and put in writing before anything starts, split into our time, your media spend and production.
How long is the contract?
The term is agreed in writing after we have spoken, along with the fee and the reporting. It is never a default twelve months, and renewal is decided on the numbers against the baseline recorded at the start.
Who will actually do the work?
The person you speak to before anything starts. We work from one office in Nagarbhavi, Bengaluru, with no account managers in between.
What do you need from us?
Your brief, and a conversation. After that, access to whatever this work touches, such as your website, your accounts or your enquiry record, and time with the people who handle your enquiries.
What if we are not happy with the work?
Tell us and the plan changes. Everything is reported against the baseline, so a number that is not moving is visible to both sides. The term is in your written scope, and the refund and cancellation policy sets out the rest.
