A buyer books the cleaner who quotes by size and says what the work does to the home.

The water has turned cloudy, termites are in the wardrobe, a housewarming is two days away, a stain is on the sofa or the chimney is dripping oil. The buyer searches for the job and asks for a price in the first sentence. The company that asks the size or the type, sends a clear quote on WhatsApp and says when it can come is the one that is booked.

Scope, fee, reporting and term are agreed in writing after we have read your brief and spoken to you.

A handyman explains a cabinet repair to a homeowner

In one paragraph

Home cleaning and pest control covers the trades that clean or treat a part of a home or building: water tanks, pests, whole flats, sofas, carpets and kitchen chimneys. GullySales looks at how the quote is built from size or type, how the safety and care of the work is explained, and how a first visit becomes a record of the next one due.

A tank is cleaned for a whole building, a sofa for one family. Some jobs are done once and some come due again. What these trades share is a price built from a size or a type, a trigger that brings the call, a worry about what the work does inside the home, a quote compared with a cheaper one, and a visit that is easy to forget unless it is recorded.

6 kinds of business

Each kind of business in home cleaning & pest control sells a little differently.

Open the page closest to yours for how its buyers choose and what we would fix first.

Water tank cleaning services

Households book after the water turns cloudy, but apartment committees, schools and factories need a schedule and a record. A committee changes every year, so a written cleaning record, tank by tank, is what it can hand on.

Pest control companies

Termites, cockroaches and mosquitoes each need a different treatment, and the buyer is anxious about chemicals near children and pets. The repeat contract and its renewal date need a record, and restaurants ask for a documented visit schedule.

Deep cleaning companies

Jobs come before a move-in, a festival or a handover, and every call opens with a price by flat size. A quote by BHK size, sent on WhatsApp and followed up, keeps the caller from comparing you only with an app-based cleaner.

Sofa cleaning companies

The enquiry starts as a photograph of a stain, and the quote depends on seat count and fabric. Customers expect every stain to vanish, so the reply should say what the fabric allows.

Carpet cleaning companies

Two buyers share this trade: the homeowner with one rug and the hotel or office with a floor to clean. Rate per square foot, a site visit and a standing contract matter more for the second.

Chimney cleaning companies

The buyer calls when the kitchen smells or drips oil, and the price depends on the chimney type, so ask the type before quoting. Owners think one cleaning lasts for life, which a service diary of due dates answers.

What they share

What usually goes wrong across home cleaning & pest control.

Whichever of these you run, you will probably recognise most of them.

  • “Every call opens with the price, before we know the size”

Our price depends on litres, flat size, seat count, floor area, chimney type or the pest. The caller wants a number now, and if we cannot ask the right question first, we lose the booking.

  • “We are compared with the cheapest person who will turn up”

A man with a bucket, an app-based crew or a roadside operator quotes less. Unless the buyer can see what our price includes, the lower figure looks like the same job.

  • “Buyers worry about what we do to their home”

Chemicals near children and pets, water cut off for hours, a fabric that may fade, a rug that may spoil or a warranty that may lapse. If we do not explain it before the visit, the doubt stops the booking.

  • “The call follows a trigger, and the demand bunches around it”

Cloudy water, a termite sighting, a festival, a move-in or a smell sends the buyer to us. Between triggers our diary is thin, and nobody has been reminded that a service is due.

  • “Customers book once and forget when it is due again”

A tank, a chimney, a pest treatment or a carpet comes due again. We hold no record of the date, so the buyer, who has forgotten, books whoever turns up in the search.

  • “We cannot show the work was done”

Once the visit is over there is little to see, so the buyer relies on our word. Without photographs, a visit record or a signed sheet, a complaint becomes an argument.

Where to start

What to fix first in home cleaning & pest control.

In the order we would look at them. Your own enquiry records may change the order, and we would say so.

  • Write the questions that fix the price for each job, such as tank litres, flat size, seat count, floor area, chimney type or pest, and ask them in your first reply.
  • Send a written quote that states what is included, what the work does to the home and what the customer should do before the visit.
  • Put the care points on a page and in the quote, such as where chemicals are used, how long water or access is affected, and what the fabric or material allows.
  • Take before and after photographs, with the customer's permission, and give a record sheet at the end of each visit.
  • Record the job and the date next due in one register, and message customers where they have agreed to it when the next visit comes round.
  • Plan the quiet weeks around the trigger for each job, and put out your pages and reminders ahead of it.

FAQ

Questions about home cleaning & pest control.

Not here? More answers, or ask on WhatsApp.

How do I answer a caller who only asks for the price?
Give the question that fixes it, such as the size of the flat or the type of chimney, with a starting figure or a range if you can stand behind one. Offer to send the full quote on WhatsApp. That keeps the caller talking to you.
How do I explain safety without frightening the customer?
State plainly what is used, where, how long the area is affected and what the household should do. Keep the wording to what you know, and send it before the visit so the customer is not surprised at the door.
What proof should I give after the job?
Photographs of the work with the customer's permission, and a record sheet with the date, the area covered and the next date due. Keep a copy so a later query can be settled from paper.
How do I get a customer to book again?
Record the job and the date it comes due, then message the customer, where they have agreed to it, ahead of that date. A buyer who has forgotten books the first name that appears.
Should I put prices on my page?
Where the price follows a size or a type, a starting figure or a range for each helps, with a note on what would change it. A buyer who sees nothing may rule you out and call a company that shows a figure.
How long is the contract?
The term is agreed in writing after we have spoken, along with the fee and the reporting. It is never a default twelve months, and renewal is decided on the numbers against the baseline recorded at the start.
How soon will we see results?
It depends on what is being changed and how many of the people who matter see it. After we have read your brief and spoken to you, we say what we would expect to move first and how it will be measured against the baseline. Nothing here is guaranteed.
Who will actually do the work?
The person you speak to before anything starts. We work from one office in Nagarbhavi, Bengaluru, with no account managers in between.
What do you need from us?
Your brief, and a conversation. After that, access to whatever the work touches, such as your profiles, your website or your accounts, and time with the people who can answer our questions.
What if we are not happy with the work?
Tell us and the plan changes. Everything is reported against the baseline, so a number that is not moving is visible to both sides. The term is in your written scope, and the refund and cancellation policy sets out the rest.
