Home and office automation · Customer retention

Win the second phase: the guest room, the gate and the contract nobody renewed.

Retention for an automation integrator is the work that comes after handover: the rooms added later, the office floor that follows the boardroom, and the maintenance contract that keeps you inside the account. GullySales tracks the renewal dates and the expansion, so neither is noticed only after it is lost.

Scope, fee, reporting and term are agreed in writing after we have read your brief and spoken to you.

Realistic editorial illustration of home and office automation at work in India

What customer retention means

Customer retention is keeping an existing customer buying again rather than losing them to a competitor after the first purchase, usually cheaper than winning a new customer. GullySales sets a routine of check-ins and renewal reminders aimed at customers before they show signs of leaving.

For home and office automation

Where it usually goes wrong, and what we would do.

  • “Half of next year's work is inside houses you have already wired”

The client who did lighting in phase one wants curtains, then the gate, then a camera at the back door. The conduit for all of it is already in his wall and nobody on your side is keeping a list.

  • “The maintenance contract lapses quietly and a local electrician inherits your panel”

A keypad stops working, the contract expired months ago, and the client calls whoever answers. Once another technician has opened your panel and changed a setting, the account is his and the next fault is your fault.

  • “A loyalty scheme is meaningless on a once-in-a-decade purchase”

Nobody collects points on a home automation system. A service visit before the monsoon, a call when a firmware update changes something, and an engineer whose number the client has saved is the whole of retention in this trade.

What we do

What we deliver for home and office automation.

Every deliverable, what it covers for you, and the result it is there to produce. Nothing here is an extra.

  1. An expansion list per completed site

The rooms, gates and devices discussed and dropped from phase one, kept against the address with what conduit is already in place for them.

Result: Your team rings with a specific proposal, not a general hello.

  2. Renewal dates worked before they expire

Maintenance and warranty dates pulled out as a working list, with the client contacted while the contract is still live.

Result: The renewal conversation happens before something breaks.

  3. A service visit that produces a written record

A short report left with the client after every visit, saying what was checked, what was replaced and what will need attention.

Result: The client can see what the contract bought.

  4. A handover pack for a house that changes owner

System details, app access and your contact left with the property, so a new owner inherits the integrator along with the panel.

Result: A resale does not cost you the account.

  5. Repeat revenue reported separately

Expansion orders and renewals counted apart from new projects, by site and by referring designer.

Result: You can see how much of the year came from work you already did.

How the result is measured

  • Retention rate
  • Repeat purchase rate
  • Customers won back

Recorded as a baseline before work starts, so every later report has an honest comparison.

Work it out from your records

Your installation files show which sites are due for the next phase and which contracts need renewing.

Rooms installed against rooms quoted
For each completed site compare what you automated with what was in the first quote or discussed. The rooms left for later are the expansion list, with the owner's own reasons noted.
AMC end dates and renewal status
List every maintenance contract with its end date and mark who has renewed, who is yet to be called and who has lapsed. Work the list well before the dates, not after.
Sites with no service visit on record
List completed sites with no visit since handover. A house nobody has checked is the likeliest to have a problem fixed by another electrician.
Houses that changed owner
From service calls and builder contacts, mark homes that were sold or let. Give the new occupant a handover pack and a phone number, or the system will be replaced.
Repeat faults on the same site
Search the service log for the same fault logged more than once at one site. Fix it for good, since repeated visits for one fault are what customers remember.
Repeat revenue kept apart from new projects
Report expansion and AMC income on its own line. Mixed in with new projects it is invisible, and a falling repeat line is the first warning that handovers are not holding.

How it works

From your first message to the first report.

No open-ended retainer. Every step gives you something in writing.

  1. First

    Your brief

You tell us what you need in a few short steps: your business, what you want, where enquiries come from and how they are handled.

  2. After the brief

A conversation and a written scope

We read it, then talk with whoever handles your enquiries. If you want our help, the scope, the fee and the reporting come in writing, and nothing starts before you have read them.

  3. Before work starts

    Baseline recorded

The numbers this work is meant to move, such as enquiries, quotations, orders, visits or renewals, written down so every later report has an honest comparison.

  4. After the baseline

    The first fix goes live

The fix we agreed to start with is put in place and measured against the baseline, whether that is a reply, a follow-up, a page, a listing or the handover between marketing and sales.

  5. As agreed

    Report against the baseline

What moved, what did not, and what changes next, in plain words. How often you get it is set in writing before work starts.

  6. At renewal

    Renew on the numbers

The term ends and you decide whether to continue from the results. The length is agreed in writing before anything starts.

How the customer retention work runs

  1. 1

    Assess current retention

A first read of current retention rate, existing tactics and where they are or are not coordinated.

  2. 2

    Build the strategy

A written plan developed covering priority segments, touchpoints and a measurable target.

  3. 3

    Align existing tactics

Current retention activities mapped against the strategy and adjusted to work together rather than independently.

  4. 4

    Track toward the target

Retention tracked against the goal, with the strategy adjusted as results come in.

Why us

Why owners pick GullySales over an agency.

  • Marketing and sales, as one job

Most agencies stop at the enquiry. We also fix what happens after it: the reply, the follow-up, the quote and the CRM.

  • The person on the first call does the work

No account managers in between. You are never handed to someone you have not met.

  • A baseline before anything starts

Your numbers are written down on day one, so every later report compares against something honest.

  • The fee in writing, split three ways

Our time, your media spend and production on separate lines. You always see what goes to us.

  • No guarantees we cannot keep

The term is agreed in writing and never a default twelve months. We never promise a ranking or a lead count, because nobody controls those.

  • One office, and we say so

Nagarbhavi, Bengaluru. We work across India by call and WhatsApp and travel when a session needs to be in person.

FAQ

Questions owners ask before they call.

Not here? More answers, or ask on WhatsApp.

Is a loyalty programme worth running for an integrator?
No. Your client buys once in ten years and a discount card has nothing to attach itself to. Put the same effort into the maintenance contract and the expansion list, which is where repeat money in this trade actually sits.
How do we get maintenance contracts renewed before they lapse?
By contacting the client while the system is working, not after it fails. The call goes out ahead of the expiry date with a record of the visits made under the last contract. A client who has seen an engineer twice renews. One who has seen nobody wonders what he paid for.
A client let the AMC lapse and a local electrician now touches the panel. Can we win him back?
Often yes, if you approach it as a safety and record check, not a sales call. Offer to inspect the system and write down what was changed. Do not blame the electrician. Repair what is wrong at a fair price and offer a fresh contract.
Who should hold the admin login to a client's system?
The client, with a copy handed over in writing at handover. Do not keep it in an engineer's phone, since he may leave. Keep a record in the company's file of what access you hold and for what purpose. Check the client's own preferences on remote access.
How much does it cost?
There is no price list, because the work differs by business. The fee is scoped after we have read your brief and spoken to you, and put in writing before anything starts, split into our time, your media spend and production.
How soon will we see results?
It depends on the trade, the channel and what is already in place. After we have read your brief and spoken to you, we say what we would expect to move first and how it will be measured against the baseline. Nothing here is guaranteed.
Who will actually do the work?
The person you speak to before anything starts. We work from one office in Nagarbhavi, Bengaluru, with no account managers in between.
What do you need from us?
Your brief, and a conversation. After that, access to whatever this work touches, such as your website, your accounts or your enquiry record, and time with the people who handle your enquiries.
What if we are not happy with the work?
Tell us and the plan changes. Everything is reported against the baseline, so a number that is not moving is visible to both sides. The term is in your written scope, and the refund and cancellation policy sets out the rest.
