Water and fire damage restoration companies · Buyer persona

The person who calls you at midnight is rarely the person who pays for the rebuild.

A buyer persona for a restoration company is a written description of each person who can send you a loss: the homeowner in the water, the property manager, the plumber, the agent. GullySales works on who each of them is, what they ask in the first call and what makes them hand the job to you.

Scope, fee, reporting and term are agreed in writing after we have read your brief and spoken to you.

What buyer persona means

A buyer persona is a plain description of the kind of customer who actually buys from you. It includes what they search, what worries them and who else they ask before deciding. GullySales builds this from real enquiries and past sales rather than a generic template, then uses it to write every page and advert.

For water and fire damage restoration companies

Where it usually goes wrong, and what we would do.

  • “The homeowner is frightened, not shopping”

The homeowner with water crossing the hallway wants to hear that a crew is coming and what to do before it arrives. A page or a call script that opens with your history loses them to the company that opens with the next step.

  • “The property manager is buying a standing arrangement”

An apartment manager or HOA board has been burned by a slow response before. They want one named contact, an answer at any hour and a clear account of who authorises work. Treat them as a repeat buyer, not as a single loss.

  • “The plumber and the roofer are choosing who to trust with their customer”

The trade standing in the water is deciding whose name to give the homeowner. They remember the company that arrived tidy, did not pester their customer and told them what happened. Their persona is a referrer, and it needs its own message.

  • “The adjuster and the homeowner want different things from the same document”

The adjuster reads for scope, photographs and moisture logs. The homeowner reads for what happens to the house and when they can live in it. One estimate sent unchanged to both pleases neither.

What we do

What we deliver for water and fire damage restoration companies.

Every deliverable, what it covers for you, and the result it is there to produce. Nothing here is an extra.

  1. One persona sheet per source of work

A single page each for the homeowner, the property manager, the plumber, the agent and the adjuster, covering what they ask, what worries them and what they need from you.

Result: Anyone answering the phone knows who is on the line.

  2. The first-call questions written down

The questions each persona asks in the opening minutes, with the answer your office gives, taken from recorded calls and the notes your coordinators keep.

Result: Every coordinator gives the same answer to the same question.

  3. A message for each persona

The wording for the website, the leave-behind and the follow-up, written separately for the homeowner, the manager and the referring trade.

Result: The plumber and the homeowner stop receiving the same letter.

  4. The decision map for a rebuild

Who must agree before a reconstruction starts: the homeowner, the carrier, a lender or a landlord, and what each one needs to see.

Result: You know whom to ask, and when, before the fans come out.

  5. A short list of the objections heard

The reasons people gave for choosing another company or another contractor, collected from lost jobs and set beside the reply your team uses.

Result: Lost jobs teach the next call.

How the result is measured

  • Enquiry match to persona
  • Conversion rate by persona
  • Content aligned to persona

Recorded as a baseline before work starts, so every later report has an honest comparison.

How it works

From your first message to the first report.

No open-ended retainer. Every step gives you something in writing.

  1. First

    Your brief

You tell us what you need in a few short steps: your business, what you want, where enquiries come from and how they are handled.

  2. After the brief

A conversation and a written scope

We read it, then talk with whoever handles your enquiries. If you want our help, the scope, the fee and the reporting come in writing, and nothing starts before you have read them.

  3. Before work starts

    Baseline recorded

The numbers this work is meant to move, such as enquiries, quotations, orders, visits or renewals, written down so every later report has an honest comparison.

  4. After the baseline

    The first fix goes live

The fix we agreed to start with is put in place and measured against the baseline, whether that is a reply, a follow-up, a page, a listing or the handover between marketing and sales.

  5. As agreed

    Report against the baseline

What moved, what did not, and what changes next, in plain words. How often you get it is set in writing before work starts.

  6. At renewal

    Renew on the numbers

The term ends and you decide whether to continue from the results. The length is agreed in writing before anything starts.

How the buyer persona work runs

  1. 1

    Understand the current view

We start with how your team currently describes the customer, since the gap between belief and reality is often the finding itself.

  2. 2

    Audit past enquiries and sales

We look at recent enquiries and closed deals to see who actually bought, not who was assumed to buy.

  3. 3

    Interview customers and staff

Short, structured conversations surface the real language, worries and triggers behind a purchase.

  4. 4

    Build the personas

Findings are written into short, usable persona documents rather than a long report.

  5. 5

    Apply to your marketing

We show exactly where each persona should change a page, an ad or a script you already have.

Why us

Why owners pick GullySales over an agency.

  • Marketing and sales, as one job

Most agencies stop at the enquiry. We also fix what happens after it: the reply, the follow-up, the quote and the CRM.

  • The person on the first call does the work

No account managers in between. You are never handed to someone you have not met.

  • A baseline before anything starts

Your numbers are written down on day one, so every later report compares against something honest.

  • The fee in writing, split three ways

Our time, your media spend and production on separate lines. You always see what goes to us.

  • No guarantees we cannot keep

The term is agreed in writing and never a default twelve months. We never promise a ranking or a lead count, because nobody controls those.

  • Hours that fit your day, agreed up front

Which hours we overlap with yours is settled before any work starts, so you know when a reply is coming and when it is not.

FAQ

Questions owners ask before they call.

Do we need a persona for the insurance side?
Yes, for the agent and the adjuster, though the claim itself stays between the carrier and the homeowner. Their persona covers what they need from your documentation and how they prefer to be contacted, nothing about coverage decisions.
Where does the information for a persona come from?
From your own jobs: call notes, estimates, lost bids and the referral records. GullySales reads those and talks to your coordinators and project managers. No survey is needed, and nothing is invented about people you have not served.
How much does it cost?
There is no price list, because the work differs by business. The fee is scoped after we have read your brief and spoken to you, and put in writing before anything starts, split into our time, your media spend and production.
How long is the contract?
The term is agreed in writing after we have spoken, along with the fee and the reporting. It is never a default twelve months, and renewal is decided on the numbers against the baseline recorded at the start.
How soon will we see results?
It depends on the trade, the channel and what is already in place. After we have read your brief and spoken to you, we say what we would expect to move first and how it will be measured against the baseline. Nothing here is guaranteed.
Who will actually do the work?
The person you speak to before anything starts. We work from one office in Nagarbhavi, Bengaluru, with no account managers in between.
What do you need from us?
Your brief, and a conversation. After that, access to whatever this work touches, such as your website, your accounts or your enquiry record, and time with the people who handle your enquiries.
What if we are not happy with the work?
Tell us and the plan changes. Everything is reported against the baseline, so a number that is not moving is visible to both sides. The term is in your written scope, and the refund and cancellation policy sets out the rest.
