Cafes and coffee shops · Search engine optimisation

Rank for coffee shop near me before the cafe two doors down does.

SEO for a cafe is the work of ranking for local searches such as cafe near me or best filter coffee in a specific neighbourhood. It happens mostly through the Business Profile and a website that matches it. GullySales builds this and reports the visits and calls it brings.

Scope, fee, reporting and term are agreed in writing after we have read your brief and spoken to you.

What search engine optimisation means

Search engine optimisation (SEO) is the work of getting your website to appear when a buyer searches Google for what you sell. GullySales builds pages around real search terms, fixes technical issues that block ranking, and tracks which searches actually bring enquiries.

For cafes and coffee shops

Where it usually goes wrong, and what we would do.

  • “The tap happens in Maps, before anyone opens the site”

For a cafe, the three Maps listings above the search results take most of the clicks, so photographs, categories and reviews on the profile matter more than website design.

  • “Neighbourhood names belong in the content”

A cafe near a specific market or metro station should say so clearly in its profile and website, since that is exactly how nearby searchers phrase it.

  • “A catering or events page earns its own ranking”

A dedicated page for catering enquiries ranks for those specific searches, which a general homepage mentioning catering in passing never will.

What we do

What we deliver for cafes and coffee shops.

Every deliverable, what it covers for you, and the result it is there to produce. Nothing here is an extra.

  1. Business Profile category and photo audit

A review and fix of your Google Business Profile categories, photographs and menu so the profile itself ranks.

Result: The cafe shows in the top Maps results a nearby searcher taps first.

  2. Locality-specific page content

Website and profile copy naming the exact market, metro station or landmark nearest the cafe.

Result: Someone searching that exact locality finds this cafe, not one further away.

  3. A dedicated catering and events page

A standalone page written to rank for catering searches, kept separate from the general homepage.

Result: A catering search brings a dedicated page instead of a passing mention.

  4. Search visibility report

A report on Maps position, website visits and calls, tracked against the local searches that matter.

Result: You know whether the cafe is easier to find than it was last month.

How the result is measured

  • Ranking positions
  • Organic traffic
  • Enquiries from organic search

Recorded as a baseline before work starts, so every later report has an honest comparison.

Searches your customers type

What a customer types before choosing a cafe, and the page that answers it.

cafe near me with wifi to work
A work-from-cafe page. State the wifi, the plug points, the quiet hours, seating and parking. List what a laptop worker can order and any seat time rule. Match it to your Business Profile.
best filter coffee in Malleshwaram
A page for the item and the neighbourhood. Show the coffee, where the beans come from and photographs of the cup. Add menu items to the Business Profile so Maps can match the search.
brunch cafe open now
Opening hours decide this one. Keep the Business Profile accurate, including festival closures and special hours. Add a brunch page with the menu in text and the weekend timing.
cafe for a birthday party booking
A bookings page. Say how many people a table or corner holds, any minimum spend, decoration rules and how to book. Show the space with a real photograph.
coffee beans subscription online
A subscription page. List the roasts, grind options, pack sizes, how delivery works and how to pause or cancel. Show it only if you can deliver it reliably.
pet friendly cafe near me
Use the Business Profile attributes honestly, and add a short page if the cafe really welcomes pets. Say where they may sit and any rules. Do not tick a box you cannot support.

Who it is for

This is written for these cafes and coffee shops.

  • Independent single-outlet cafes
  • Specialty coffee roasters with a cafe
  • Cafes inside co-working spaces
  • Bakery cafes
  • Cafe chains opening new outlets
  • Cloud kitchen and delivery-only cafes
  • Cafes attached to bookstores or art spaces
  • Late-night and student-area cafes

Not for

It is not the right fit if.

  • The cafe is new and has no website or listing, and search work would be done before the basics.
  • The menu, hours and address keep changing, and pages written now would be wrong soon.
  • You want to rank for coffee in the whole city, when your buyers are within walking distance.

How it works

How the search engine optimisation work runs

The work itself, in order. How an engagement starts, from your brief to a written scope, is set out on our method page.

  1. 1

    Audit and baseline

We record where the site stands today: positions, traffic, technical faults and the enquiries search currently produces. Nothing starts until this number is written down.

  2. 2

    Decide what to rank for

We map the searches your buyers use, in your words and theirs, and pick the ones worth the effort for your margin and your capacity.

  3. 3

    Fix the foundations

Technical faults first, because the cheapest gains are there. Then the Business Profile and directory consistency.

  4. 4

    Build the pages

A page for each thing you do, written to answer the question it is searched for, with a clear next step at the end.

  5. 5

    Publish and earn mentions

Content goes out on the calendar. Links and mentions are earned from real relationships, not bought.

  6. 6

    Measure, report, adjust

At an interval agreed in writing we report what moved and what did not, and change the plan when the numbers say so.

Where this fits

Three pieces of sales work, in this order.

This work sits inside sales process design, at stage 1, prospecting and lead generation. The audit comes before it, and sales management keeps it running.

  1. Step 1

    Sales audit

Find where deals are being lost and what to fix first.

Start here if you cannot say where orders are lost.

  2. Step 2 · you are here

    Sales process design

One written way to sell, from first enquiry to repeat order.

Start here if every salesperson sells differently.

  3. Step 3

    Sales management

A target, a review routine and someone who owns the number.

Start here if the team has targets and no routine.

FAQ

Questions owners ask before they call.

How long does SEO take for a cafe?
The Business Profile can move within weeks. Ranking a website for competitive local searches takes a few months of consistent work.
Do we need a website if we are mostly walk-in?
A simple one is still worth having, mainly to support the Business Profile and hold a catering or events page.
Is a PDF menu enough on our site?
No. A PDF is hard to read on a phone and search engines read it poorly. Put the menu as plain text on the page, with section headings, and keep a PDF only if you need a printable copy.
Should each outlet have its own page and Business Profile?
Yes. Each outlet has its own address, hours and customers. Give each a page and a profile with its own photographs and menu notes. Shared text across outlets makes them look the same in results.
How much does it cost?
There is no price list, because the work differs by business. The fee is scoped after we have read your brief and spoken to you, and put in writing before anything starts, split into our time, your media spend and production.
How long is the contract?
The term is agreed in writing after we have spoken, along with the fee and the reporting. It is never a default twelve months, and renewal is decided on the numbers against the baseline recorded at the start.
Who will actually do the work?
The person you speak to before anything starts. We work from one office in Nagarbhavi, Bengaluru, with no account managers in between.
What do you need from us?
Your brief, and a conversation. After that, access to whatever this work touches, such as your website, your accounts or your enquiry record, and time with the people who handle your enquiries.
What if we are not happy with the work?
Tell us and the plan changes. Everything is reported against the baseline, so a number that is not moving is visible to both sides. The term is in your written scope, and the refund and cancellation policy sets out the rest.
