API manufacturers · Buyer persona

Write down who at the formulator asks, who vetoes and who signs.

A buyer persona for an API plant describes the separate people inside a formulator or contract manufacturer who shape a source change. GullySales works with your sales head to write one persona per role and to match each to what they need to see.

Scope, fee, reporting and term are agreed in writing after we have read your brief and spoken to you.

What buyer persona means

A buyer persona is a plain description of the kind of customer who actually buys from you. It includes what they search, what worries them and who else they ask before deciding. GullySales builds this from real enquiries and past sales rather than a generic template, then uses it to write every page and advert.

For API manufacturers

Where it usually goes wrong, and what we would do.

  • “Four people, four different questions”

The purchase executive asks about price and supply. R&D asks about impurity profile. Quality asks about audit history. Regulatory asks about filings. Writing one persona for all four produces a message none of them finds useful.

  • “A persona for a regulated-market buyer differs from a domestic one”

An overseas buyer begins with filings and inspection record. A domestic formulator begins with supply reliability and batch consistency. The same molecule needs two different first replies.

  • “A contract manufacturer buys for someone else”

A contract manufacturer buys what its client specifies and cares about lead and consistency. Its persona is built around the client's needs, so ask who the client is.

  • “A trader is a persona too”

A trader wants margin and prompt answers, and may hold the relationship you want. Treat the trader as a role with its own needs, not as an obstacle, and decide in advance what you offer to one.

What we do

What we deliver for API manufacturers.

Every deliverable, what it covers for you, and the result it is there to produce. Nothing here is an extra.

  1. A one-page persona for each role

Purchase, R&D, quality and regulatory, each with the questions they ask, the documents they want and the worry behind them.

Result: Each role has a page your sales team can read before a call.

  2. A buyer-type split

Separate notes for formulators, contract manufacturers, importers and traders.

Result: Your team can say which type a given enquiry is before replying.

  3. Question-to-document mapping

A table matching each common question to the document or page that answers it.

Result: For any question a buyer asks, you can point to the answer without searching.

  4. Interview notes from your own team

A short record of what your sales and quality staff have heard from buyers, kept as evidence for each persona.

Result: Every persona statement can be traced to a real conversation.

  5. A review after real calls

A check of each persona against what actual buyers said, with corrections noted.

Result: Persona pages carry a note of what changed after the latest calls.

How the result is measured

  • Enquiry match to persona
  • Conversion rate by persona
  • Content aligned to persona

Recorded as a baseline before work starts, so every later report has an honest comparison.

How it works

From your first message to the first report.

No open-ended retainer. Every step gives you something in writing.

  1. First

    Your brief

You tell us what you need in a few short steps: your business, what you want, where enquiries come from and how they are handled.

  2. After the brief

A conversation and a written scope

We read it, then talk with whoever handles your enquiries. If you want our help, the scope, the fee and the reporting come in writing, and nothing starts before you have read them.

  3. Before work starts

    Baseline recorded

The numbers this work is meant to move, such as enquiries, quotations, orders, visits or renewals, written down so every later report has an honest comparison.

  4. After the baseline

    The first fix goes live

The fix we agreed to start with is put in place and measured against the baseline, whether that is a reply, a follow-up, a page, a listing or the handover between marketing and sales.

  5. As agreed

    Report against the baseline

What moved, what did not, and what changes next, in plain words. How often you get it is set in writing before work starts.

  6. At renewal

    Renew on the numbers

The term ends and you decide whether to continue from the results. The length is agreed in writing before anything starts.

How the buyer persona work runs

  1. 1

    Understand the current view

We start with how your team currently describes the customer, since the gap between belief and reality is often the finding itself.

  2. 2

    Audit past enquiries and sales

We look at recent enquiries and closed deals to see who actually bought, not who was assumed to buy.

  3. 3

    Interview customers and staff

Short, structured conversations surface the real language, worries and triggers behind a purchase.

  4. 4

    Build the personas

Findings are written into short, usable persona documents rather than a long report.

  5. 5

    Apply to your marketing

We show exactly where each persona should change a page, an ad or a script you already have.

Why us

Why owners pick GullySales over an agency.

  • Marketing and sales, as one job

Most agencies stop at the enquiry. We also fix what happens after it: the reply, the follow-up, the quote and the CRM.

  • The person on the first call does the work

No account managers in between. You are never handed to someone you have not met.

  • A baseline before anything starts

Your numbers are written down on day one, so every later report compares against something honest.

  • The fee in writing, split three ways

Our time, your media spend and production on separate lines. You always see what goes to us.

  • No guarantees we cannot keep

The term is agreed in writing and never a default twelve months. We never promise a ranking or a lead count, because nobody controls those.

  • One office, and we say so

Nagarbhavi, Bengaluru. We work across India by call and WhatsApp and travel when a session needs to be in person.

FAQ

Questions owners ask before they call.

Do we need a persona if we only have a few buyers?
Yes, because a few buyers means each lost relationship hurts. A persona records what your best buyers cared about so a new executive can pick up the same understanding without starting again.
Where does the evidence come from?
From your own team's calls, audit notes and buyer emails. We do not invent buyer details. Where your team has no evidence yet, the persona says so and lists the questions to ask.
Should the persona name actual companies?
Keep company names in your own CRM record and out of the persona page. The persona describes a role and its concerns. That keeps it reusable and keeps customer confidences private.
How much does it cost?
There is no price list, because the work differs by business. The fee is scoped after we have read your brief and spoken to you, and put in writing before anything starts, split into our time, your media spend and production.
How long is the contract?
The term is agreed in writing after we have spoken, along with the fee and the reporting. It is never a default twelve months, and renewal is decided on the numbers against the baseline recorded at the start.
How soon will we see results?
It depends on the trade, the channel and what is already in place. After we have read your brief and spoken to you, we say what we would expect to move first and how it will be measured against the baseline. Nothing here is guaranteed.
Who will actually do the work?
The person you speak to before anything starts. We work from one office in Nagarbhavi, Bengaluru, with no account managers in between.
What do you need from us?
Your brief, and a conversation. After that, access to whatever this work touches, such as your website, your accounts or your enquiry record, and time with the people who handle your enquiries.
What if we are not happy with the work?
Tell us and the plan changes. Everything is reported against the baseline, so a number that is not moving is visible to both sides. The term is in your written scope, and the refund and cancellation policy sets out the rest.
