API manufacturers · Manufacturing
Be on the approved vendor list of the formulators who buy your molecule.
Picture a bulk drug plant in Visakhapatnam with a long molecule list. Two of the molecules go to the same few buyers year after year. The rest sit in a table on the website, and the team cannot say who last asked about them.
Scope, fee, reporting and term are agreed in writing after we have read your brief and spoken to you.

In one paragraph
API manufacturer marketing puts your active ingredients in front of formulation companies, contract manufacturers and traders who qualify a new source. API sales carries a buyer from a sample and a certificate of analysis through audit and trial to a repeat purchase order. GullySales builds the molecule pages and the follow-up record, and your regulatory team checks every claim.
Selling an active ingredient is slow, because a formulator who changes the API source has to run trials, update a filing and re-approve the product. So the buyer asks for a lot before a first order, and a seller whose answer to each request is complete gives that buyer a reason to start the trial.

How buyers decide
How API manufacturers are chosen.
A formulator's sourcing team starts with a molecule and a grade. It looks for suppliers in a database, at pharma ingredient trade events, and by asking trade contacts. The short list then gets a request for a sample, a certificate of analysis, a drug master file reference where relevant, an impurity profile and a plant audit. A supplier whose first reply carries all of it has an edge over a larger name who needs three emails.
The technical team in R&D or quality assurance holds the real veto. They compare the impurity profile with the one they already use, check the particle size and polymorph if that matters, and decide whether a second source is worth the work. Purchase then negotiates price, but only for suppliers who passed the technical test.
For regulated-market buyers, the plant's inspection history and the right filings decide whether the conversation starts at all. For domestic buyers, supply reliability and a steady quality across batches count most.
The problem
What usually goes wrong for API manufacturers.
What owners tell us on the first call, in their words.
“Buyers find our molecule list, not our strengths”
A table of product names tells a formulator nothing about grades, impurity limits or which markets we supply.
“A request for documents starts an email chain”
Each buyer asks for slightly different papers, and our team gathers them from three departments every time.
“Trials start and then go silent”
A sample goes out and we hear nothing for months. We do not know whether the buyer is testing, stuck or has chosen someone else.
“We depend on a few large buyers and several traders”
If one formulator changes its source, a big part of the volume goes with it. Traders bring orders but own the relationship.
“Overseas enquiries are hard to judge”
We cannot tell the serious importer with a registration plan from a trader collecting quotes.
“Our regulatory and sales teams do not speak”
Sales promises a grade that regulatory has not filed, or regulatory delays a reply that sales promised.
What we do
What we do for API manufacturers.
Everything included for API manufacturers.
A technical page for each molecule
Grade, packing, storage, documents available and the markets served, written for a sourcing manager and a quality head. It leaves out any claim your regulatory team has not cleared.
A ready document pack and request log
A standard set of papers kept current by regulatory, with a record of who asked for what, when it was sent and what was said.
A trial follow-up script
A set of questions for the buyer's quality and R&D teams to use after each sample or trial lot, with a name on every follow-up.
An overseas enquiry screen
A short set of questions on the importer's registration plan, volumes and market, with a record of the answers.
A buyer map by molecule
A list of formulators and contract manufacturers who use each molecule you make, marked with what is known about their current source.
How the result is measured
- Sample requests by molecule
- Samples sent against trials started
- Trials against first purchase orders
- Repeat orders from buyers in the last year
- Share of volume sold through traders
- Document requests answered in full on first reply
Recorded as a baseline before work starts, so every later report has an honest comparison.
Every service, written for API manufacturers
Each has its own page: what it involves for API manufacturers, what you get, and what it is measured on.
- Lead generationFind the formulators who buy your molecule and start a trial with them.
- SEOAppear when a sourcing manager types the molecule, the grade or the pharmacopoeia.
- Social media marketingShow quality heads and sourcing teams a plant they can imagine auditing.
- Content marketingPublish the technical answers a formulator's quality team looks for before a trial.
- Buyer personasWrite down who at the formulator asks, who vetoes and who signs.
- CRMKeep every sample, document request and trial on one record per buyer.
- Follow-up systemsGive every sample and trial a named owner and a next step.
- WhatsApp marketingMove sample and document requests off scattered chats and onto one record.
- Digital marketingChoose the few channels that actually reach formulators and importers.
- WebsiteBuild a site that a quality head can check before agreeing to a trial.
Worth a page and a campaign of their own
Second-source qualification at formulators · Contract manufacturers who buy APIs for others · Overseas importers and distributors · Repeat orders from trialled buyers · Custom synthesis enquiries · New molecule launches · Technical document readiness · Reducing reliance on traders
Priority campaigns
Campaigns for what API manufacturers most want to sell.
Each one planned around when your buyers decide, and measured against the baseline.
Second-source outreach for a flagship molecule
A pack and a message to formulators who buy the molecule, offering a sample lot and the full document set for a second-source trial.
Trade event preparation and follow-up
A buyer meeting list before a trade fair, a stand pack that answers the usual questions, and a follow-up note to every contact afterwards.
New molecule launch
A page, a document pack and an introduction to formulators known to use that molecule, with a sample route.
Overseas distributor campaign
Outreach to distributors in markets where your filings allow supply, with a company profile and a stated list of documents.
Dormant buyer reactivation
A message to buyers who ordered once and stopped, asking what changed and what support would bring them back.
Beyond search
Where we reach buyers of API manufacturers, beyond Google.
Search matters, but it is rarely the only way this industry's buyers find a supplier.
Sourcing and purchase heads at formulators
Formulators already using your molecules head the list, each with an introduction and a sample route that suits its dosage form.
R&D and quality teams
The technical veto sits here, so the material answers their questions on impurities, grades and documents before a price is mentioned.
Contract manufacturers
Companies that make medicines for others buy APIs in volume and by campaign. They get an outreach of their own, apart from the brand owners.
Overseas importers and distributors
A company and product profile goes out, and each enquiry is screened on registration plan and volume before your export team replies.
Pharma consultants and regulatory agents
Consultants who advise formulators on where to source can introduce a new supplier. A one-page profile fits those working in your molecule areas.
Who it is for
This is written for these API manufacturers.
- Generic API manufacturers for domestic formulators
- Regulated-market API plants with overseas filings
- Intermediate and advanced intermediate producers
- Herbal extract and phytochemical API makers
- Vitamin, amino acid and nutraceutical ingredient producers
- Veterinary API manufacturers
- Peptide and complex molecule producers
- Custom synthesis and CDMO units making APIs to order
Not for
It is not the right fit if.
- You want a guaranteed Google ranking or a guaranteed number of leads. Nobody honest can promise either.
- You need enquiries by next week and have nobody to answer them.
- You want posts and reach reported, not enquiries and orders.
How it works
From your first message to the first report.
No open-ended retainer. Every step gives you something in writing.
First
Your brief
You tell us what you need in a few short steps: your business, what you want, where enquiries come from and how they are handled.
After the brief
A conversation and a written scope
We read it, then talk with whoever handles your enquiries. If you want our help, the scope, the fee and the reporting come in writing, and nothing starts before you have read them.
Before work starts
Baseline recorded
The numbers this work is meant to move, such as enquiries, quotations, orders, visits or renewals, written down so every later report has an honest comparison.
After the baseline
The first fix goes live
The fix we agreed to start with is put in place and measured against the baseline, whether that is a reply, a follow-up, a page, a listing or the handover between marketing and sales.
As agreed
Report against the baseline
What moved, what did not, and what changes next, in plain words. How often you get it is set in writing before work starts.
At renewal
Renew on the numbers
The term ends and you decide whether to continue from the results. The length is agreed in writing before anything starts.
How the work runs for API manufacturers
- 1
Read the buyer history
Who bought which molecule, who stopped, which trials ended without an order and which buyers came through traders.
- 2
Organise the documents
A pack your regulatory team owns and updates, and a log of every request and reply.
- 3
Write the molecule pages
One page per molecule, in the words a sourcing manager types, with only cleared claims.
- 4
Reach the buyers
Outreach to formulators, contract manufacturers and importers, with trade events used as a first meeting.
- 5
Move trials to orders
A follow-up script for each sample, with questions that find out what the buyer needs in order to decide.
Proof
What happened when owners fixed this.
Real clients, the work we did, and the result as it was recorded. Where no number was recorded, none is claimed.
