Printing businesses · WhatsApp marketing

Stop letting customers send you artwork as a compressed photograph.

The print trade runs on WhatsApp: the enquiry, the artwork, the proof, the approval and the reorder all arrive there. It is also where a logo gets squeezed into a blurry image and printed that way. GullySales sets up the business number, the file rules and the approval trail that protects you when the colour is questioned.

Scope, fee, reporting and term are agreed in writing after we have read your brief and spoken to you.

What WhatsApp marketing means

WhatsApp marketing is sending updates, offers and reminders to customers on the app most Indian buyers already check daily. GullySales sets up business WhatsApp, writes the message templates and keeps the list consented and current.

For printing businesses

Where it usually goes wrong, and what we would do.

  • “An image sent in a chat is not artwork”

The app compresses it, the logo softens, and it prints exactly as badly as it arrived. Ask for the file as a document, and say which formats you can plate from, before a customer blames your press for their upload.

  • “The written approval is your only defence on colour”

Send the proof, name the file, and get the word approved typed back against that name. When the customer says the shade is wrong on ten thousand cartons, that message is the difference between a reprint at your cost and a conversation.

  • “The catalogue works for the jobs with a fixed slab”

Visiting cards, letterheads, standard boxes and standees can sit there with a rate. A packaging run cannot, because the board, the size and the finish change everything, and a published price you have to withdraw costs you the enquiry.

What we do

What we deliver for printing businesses.

Every deliverable, what it covers for you, and the result it is there to produce. Nothing here is an extra.

  1. A business account on the shop's own number

Verified profile, working hours, an away message and the address, on a number that stays with the business when staff change.

Result: Enquiries reach the shop, not a salesman's personal phone.

  2. File rules customers are told before they send

Which formats you accept, the resolution you need, and a saved reply asking for the file as a document rather than as a picture.

Result: Artwork arrives in a state you can actually print.

  3. A proof and approval trail kept in the chat

A naming rule for proofs, a saved message that asks for approval against the named file, and a place the approval is filed with the job card.

Result: Approval is written down against the exact file you ran.

  4. A catalogue of the fixed-rate items

Standard jobs with quantities, slabs and photographs of your own work, set up so a buyer can see the offer without asking for a rate card.

Result: Small jobs get quoted without anybody typing a rate.

  5. Seasonal lists for accounts that buy on a cycle

Buyers who agreed to hear from you, grouped by what they order, so a note about diaries, calendars or wedding season reaches only the ones it suits.

Result: Your messages land with buyers who were about to order anyway.

  6. Enquiries from the number counted separately

Messages, quotations and confirmed jobs arriving on WhatsApp tracked against the enquiry baseline recorded before the work started.

Result: You can see what the number is worth beside the counter.

How the result is measured

  • Messages delivered
  • Reply rate
  • Enquiries from WhatsApp

Recorded as a baseline before work starts, so every later report has an honest comparison.

What must be in place first

What a print shop sets down before artwork and proofs start arriving by chat.

The shop's own business number
Register WhatsApp Business on the number printed on your invoices and visiting cards. Operators who take proofs on their own phones keep the customer trail with them when they leave.
File rules sent with the first reply
Tell customers to send artwork as a PDF or the original design file, not as an image or a screenshot. State the bleed, colour mode and resolution you need, and say that an image sent in chat is not print-ready.
Approval wording for every proof
Send proofs as a PDF with a line asking the customer to reply 'Approved' with the job number. Keep that reply, because it is the record when a colour or a spelling is questioned after delivery.
Opt-in for the seasonal list
Ask for permission on the job ticket: 'Send reminders for wedding cards, diaries and calendars on WhatsApp'. Only those who agreed get messages, grouped by what they buy, for example corporate accounts and wedding families.
Catalogue of fixed-slab items
List visiting cards, letterheads, flex banners and stickers with the paper, size and quantity slab. Leave out custom work, packaging and anything priced by quote. Check WhatsApp's current business policy and pricing.
Hours and an away message
State the shop's hours and the cut-off for urgent work on the profile. Set an away message so that a customer sending artwork late at night knows when it will be seen and what is promised.

Not for

It is not the right fit if.

  • You want a guaranteed Google ranking or a guaranteed number of leads. Nobody honest can promise either.
  • You need enquiries by next week and have nobody to answer them.
  • You want posts and reach reported, not enquiries and orders.

How it works

From your first message to the first report.

No open-ended retainer. Every step gives you something in writing.

  1. First

    Your brief

You tell us what you need in a few short steps: your business, what you want, where enquiries come from and how they are handled.

  2. After the brief

A conversation and a written scope

We read it, then talk with whoever handles your enquiries. If you want our help, the scope, the fee and the reporting come in writing, and nothing starts before you have read them.

  3. Before work starts

    Baseline recorded

Enquiries by source, reply time, conversion and cost per order, written down so every later report has an honest comparison.

  4. After the baseline

    The first fix goes live

The fix we agreed to start with is put in place and measured against the baseline, whether that is reply time, a follow-up sequence, the page buyers land on or the handover between marketing and sales.

  5. As agreed

    Report against the baseline

What moved, what did not, and what changes next, in plain words. How often you get it is set in writing before work starts.

  6. At renewal

    Renew on the numbers

The term ends and you decide whether to continue from the results. The length is agreed in writing before anything starts.

How the whatsapp marketing work runs

  1. 1

    Understand current WhatsApp use

We review how customers currently message you and how consistently, if at all, it is answered.

  2. 2

    Audit common questions

We identify the questions that come up repeatedly, which decide what should be automated first.

  3. 3

    Set up automation and templates

An automated first response and quick reply templates are built for the most common needs.

  4. 4

    Connect to the CRM

Conversations are linked to customer records so context carries over between team members.

  5. 5

    Measure and optimise

We track response time and conversion, refining automated responses based on what customers actually ask.

Why us

Why owners pick GullySales over an agency.

  • Marketing and sales, as one job

Most agencies stop at the enquiry. We also fix what happens after it: the reply, the follow-up, the quote and the CRM.

  • The person on the first call does the work

No account managers in between. You are never handed to someone you have not met.

  • A baseline before anything starts

Your numbers are written down on day one, so every later report compares against something honest.

  • The fee in writing, split three ways

Our time, your media spend and production on separate lines. You always see what goes to us.

  • No guarantees we cannot keep

The term is agreed in writing and never a default twelve months. We never promise a ranking or a lead count, because nobody controls those.

  • One office, and we say so

Nagarbhavi, Bengaluru. We work across India by call and WhatsApp and travel when a session needs to be in person.

#257, 3rd floor, Sri Nanjundeshwara Complex, Nagarbhavi 8th Block, Outer Ring Road. How we work.

FAQ

Questions owners ask before they call.

Is it worth broadcasting offers to our customer list?
To your own accounts, before a season they already buy in, yes. Diaries and calendars ahead of the new year, or wedding stationery in season. To a bought list, no. Those recipients report the number and you lose the one channel your real customers use.
Customers send artwork at midnight and expect delivery the same day. How do we manage that?
Set working hours on the business profile and an away message that says when the shop opens and what you need in the file. It will not stop the midnight message, but it stops the assumption that somebody read it. Then confirm the delivery date in writing when you do open.
A customer disputes the colour and says the WhatsApp image looked different. What do we do?
Point to the approved proof and the line in your terms that screens vary from print. For colour-critical jobs, send a printed proof or a hard copy first. Keep the 'Approved' reply with the job number, and show it politely before discussing any reprint.
Can our operators send job updates from their own phones?
Avoid it. Customer approvals and artwork on personal phones disappear when staff change and cannot be checked later. Give operators access to the shop's business account, or have the front desk pass updates, so every proof and approval stays in one place.
Do we need to advertise?
Not for urgent jobs, which are won on a fast quote and visible samples. Ads help for a specific push, such as wedding invitations from October or a new packaging line.
Should we check the label text a food brand sends us?
Yes, before the plates are made. Point out a missing FSSAI licence number, net quantity or MRP, even though the brand is responsible for them. A reprint costs both of you, and the brand remembers the printer who caught it.
How much does it cost?
There is no price list, because the work differs by business. The fee is scoped after we have read your brief and spoken to you, and put in writing before anything starts, split into our time, your media spend and production.
How long is the contract?
The term is agreed in writing after we have spoken, along with the fee and the reporting. It is never a default twelve months, and renewal is decided on the numbers against the baseline recorded at the start.
How soon will we see results?
It depends on the trade, the channel and what is already in place. After we have read your brief and spoken to you, we say what we would expect to move first and how it will be measured against the baseline. Nothing here is guaranteed.
Who will actually do the work?
The person you speak to before anything starts. We work from one office in Nagarbhavi, Bengaluru, with no account managers in between.
