Business networking organizations · Non-profit

Give every open seat in your chapter a named owner to invite.

The chapter has a vacant seat for an interior designer. Four members have each mentioned a designer they know, yet no invitation has gone out, and the seat has been empty since June. The president is sure the right person is out there, but the invitation is still unwritten.

Scope, fee, reporting and term are agreed in writing after we have read your brief and spoken to you.

Realistic editorial illustration of business consultants at work in India

In one paragraph

A business networking organisation is a referral group or club where owners meet on a set day, with one seat for each profession, to pass each other business. It grows by launching chapters, inviting visitors and keeping members active. GullySales prepares the prospect lists for vacant seats, the visitor follow-up and the referral record, and writes the group's public pages in plain words.

A networking group is a small sales machine run by volunteers. Its product is a seat, its buyer is a business owner who is wary of being sold to, and its proof is the referrals members actually pass. If that proof is not recorded, the group has nothing to show the next visitor.

How buyers decide

How business networking organizations are chosen.

An owner visits a chapter because someone they trust invited them. They decide on the second visit, based on whether the people in the room are the sort they would refer. They check which seats are open in their own trade, and whether a competitor already holds it.

A group with strong members attracts better members, so the first impression is the existing room. New chapters need a founding core, a meeting place that is easy to reach, and a few trades already represented.

The owner also asks what it costs in time. If the schedule is hard and the referrals are vague, they leave after a few meetings.

The problem

What usually goes wrong for business networking organizations.

What owners tell us on the first call, in their words.

  • “Seats stay empty for months”

The interior designer's seat sits vacant because nobody holds a list of designers within reach of the meeting place.

  • “Visitors come once and vanish”

A guest attends, enjoys the meeting, and nobody follows up. The conversion rate is a guess.

  • “Members lose interest after the first year”

They stop attending when referrals dry up, and nobody has the data to see who is getting and giving value.

  • “We cannot show referral value”

Members pass business but do not report it, so the chapter cannot tell new visitors what it is worth.

  • “A new chapter will not launch”

There are not enough founding members, and the launch date keeps slipping.

What we do

What we do for business networking organizations.

Everything included for business networking organizations.

  1. A seat-by-seat map for each chapter

Every seat, who holds it, which are vacant and a prospect list of owners in each vacant trade near the meeting place.

  2. A visitor journey

Invitation, reminder, a host at the door, a thank-you message after the meeting and a second-visit invitation.

  3. A referral log

A simple sheet or app where a member records who passed what to whom and what came of it, with values only if the member states them.

  4. A chapter page

Meeting day and place, vacant seats, how to visit and who to call, written in plain words.

  5. A launch plan for a new chapter

Founding member list, trade mix, first venue, invitation scripts and a launch event outline.

  6. A member activity view

Attendance, referrals given and received and renewal date, visible to the leadership team.

How the result is measured

  • Vacant seats filled
  • Visitors invited and attended
  • Visitors who joined
  • Member renewals
  • Referrals logged
  • New chapters launched

Recorded as a baseline before work starts, so every later report has an honest comparison.

Worth a page and a campaign of their own

Filling vacant seats · Visitor invitation and follow-up · New chapter launch and founding member drive · Member retention and activity tracking · Referral recording and thank-you notes · Director or chapter leader recruitment · Public page for each chapter · Launch events and open mixers · Member stories about work won

Priority campaigns

Campaigns for what business networking organizations most want to sell.

Each one planned around when your buyers decide, and measured against the baseline.

  • Open seat invitation

A direct message and a call to owners in the vacant trade, naming the seat and offering a visit.

  • Bring a guest month

Each member brings one owner they respect, with a simple card to hand out and a host to meet them.

  • New chapter launch event

An open morning mixer for owners in the area, announced locally, with a sign-up for founding members.

  • Referral stories

Short, member-approved stories of work passed inside the chapter, shared without invented figures.

Beyond search

Where we reach buyers of business networking organizations, beyond Google.

Search matters, but it is rarely the only way this industry's buyers find a supplier.

  • Owners in vacant trades

A practising architect, CA or caterer within a short drive of the meeting hall. We list owners in each vacant trade from public directories.

  • Local chambers, coworking spaces and clubs

The manager of a coworking space or the secretary of a local club, who can host a short introduction for the chapter.

  • Sponsors and venue partners

A hotel's sales manager who needs a meeting-room booking, or a print shop that wants members' visiting cards and banners.

  • Existing members' own contacts

Each member is asked for three names against a vacant seat, on a short form, instead of in a general announcement at the end of the meeting.

Who it is for

This is written for these business networking organizations.

  • Referral chapters that meet on a fixed day and allow one member per profession
  • Business clubs and breakfast clubs in a city or suburb
  • Women entrepreneurs' networking groups
  • Young entrepreneurs' and startup founders' groups
  • Sector-specific groups for builders, doctors or exporters
  • Community-based business networks organised around a region or a language
  • Online and WhatsApp-based business groups
  • Franchise-style networks that license chapters to local directors

Not for

It is not the right fit if.

  • You want a guaranteed Google ranking or a guaranteed number of leads. Nobody honest can promise either.
  • You need enquiries by next week and have nobody to answer them.
  • You want posts and reach reported, not enquiries and orders.

How it works

How the work runs for business networking organizations

The work itself, in order. How an engagement starts, from your brief to a written scope, is set out on our method page.

  1. 1

    Sit with the leadership team

How many chapters there are, how many seats each holds and which trades the members come from are written down first.

  2. 2

    Map seats and prospects

A list of seats, holders and vacancies, with prospects by trade.

  3. 3

    Fix the visitor journey

A script for the host, a follow-up message and a record of every guest.

  4. 4

    Run the invitations

Calls, messages and events, each logged against the seat.

  5. 5

Count the seats as they stand

Filled seats, last term's visitors who joined and renewals are counted first, so the leadership team holds its own starting figures.

Where this fits

Three pieces of sales work, in this order.

GullySales builds every engagement from three pieces of sales work. This page is not one of them, but the same three steps apply to the business behind it.

  1. Step 1

    Sales audit

Find where deals are being lost and what to fix first.

Start here if you cannot say where orders are lost.

  2. Step 2

    Sales process design

One written way to sell, from first enquiry to repeat order.

Start here if every salesperson sells differently.

  3. Step 3

    Sales management

A target, a review routine and someone who owns the number.

Start here if the team has targets and no routine.

FAQ

Questions business networking organizations ask before they call.

Not here? More answers, or ask on WhatsApp.

Do networking groups need marketing?
Yes, for the seat. A chapter fills when someone writes the invitation, and that is a sales job with a list, a script and a follow-up.
What do we say when a visitor asks what the referrals are worth?
Say how many referrals were passed, and quote a value only when the member who received the business states it and approves its use. If the log holds no values, leave them out. A figure the chapter cannot show does more harm than silence.
Is it fine to use member stories?
Only with the member's consent. Keep figures out unless they are the member's own and they approve.
Can you help launch a chapter in a new city?
Yes. We build the founding list, the first invitation set and the launch event plan.
Do you work chapter by chapter or for the whole network?
Either. One chapter with a vacant seat is a fair place to start, and the same seat map and visitor script can then be copied to other chapters. The scope and fee are written down for your leadership team.
How much does it cost?
There is no price list, because the work differs by business. The fee is scoped after we have read your brief and spoken to you, and put in writing before anything starts, split into our time, your media spend and production.
How long is the contract?
The term is agreed in writing after we have spoken, along with the fee and the reporting. It is never a default twelve months, and renewal is decided on the numbers against the baseline recorded at the start.
How soon will we see results?
Fixes to reply time, follow-up and your Google Business Profile are the quickest to show, because the enquiries already exist. Ads can follow soon after follow-up is in place. SEO and content take longer. How long each takes depends on your business, and we tell you which applies to you after we have spoken. Nothing here is guaranteed.
Who will actually do the work?
The person you speak to before anything starts. We work from one office in Nagarbhavi, Bengaluru, with no account managers in between.
What do you need from us?
To start, last month's enquiries in any format and time with whoever handles them. After that, access to the accounts the work touches, such as the website, Google Business Profile or CRM.
