ClimateTech startups · WhatsApp marketing

Use WhatsApp to share site data and keep plant heads close to the pilot.

WhatsApp marketing for a ClimateTech startup means using the app plant heads and consultants already live on to share proof, answer questions and keep a purchase moving. GullySales works on message content, consent and the record that keeps these chats from being lost.

Scope, fee, reporting and term are agreed in writing after we have read your brief and spoken to you.

What WhatsApp marketing means

WhatsApp marketing is sending updates, offers and reminders to customers on the app most Indian buyers already check daily. GullySales sets up business WhatsApp, writes the message templates and keeps the list consented and current.

For ClimateTech startups

Where it usually goes wrong, and what we would do.

  • “The plant head answers WhatsApp before email”

On the shop floor, a phone message gets read while an email waits. A short note with a pilot photograph or a reading, sent after a call, reaches the buyer where they work. It must be brief and obviously useful.

  • “Chats vanish into personal phones”

When one founder holds every thread, a change of phone or a busy week loses the history. Each important chat should be noted against the account in your record, so the team can pick up where the conversation stopped.

  • “Broadcasts without consent harm trust”

Adding plant heads to a list they did not ask to join is a quick way to lose them. Ask first, say what you will send and make leaving easy. Check the platform's current rules on business messaging before any bulk step.

  • “Consultants share what is clear”

An energy auditor who receives a clean one-page summary on WhatsApp can forward it to a client in one tap. A long document or a vague message is left unread. Write for the forward.

What we do

What we deliver for ClimateTech startups.

Every deliverable, what it covers for you, and the result it is there to produce. Nothing here is an extra.

  1. A business profile and catalogue set-up

A WhatsApp Business profile describing what you do, with product or service entries written around buyer problems.

Result: A buyer who looks you up sees a clear offer.

  2. Post-meeting message templates

Short drafts for after a call, a site visit and a pilot review, each carrying a fact or a link.

Result: Messages that add something instead of asking for an answer.

  3. A consent and opt-in note

A plain line asking buyers whether they agree to updates, with a record of who said yes.

Result: A list made of people who agreed to it.

  4. A consultant forward pack

A one-page summary built to be forwarded to a client in a single message.

Result: Something an auditor can pass on at once.

  5. A chat-to-record habit

A rule to log key points of each important chat against the account in your CRM.

Result: The team can see what was agreed without scrolling a thread.

How the result is measured

  • Messages delivered
  • Reply rate
  • Enquiries from WhatsApp

Recorded as a baseline before work starts, so every later report has an honest comparison.

What to capture or send

A plant head wants a reading, a photograph and a visit time on chat.

Post-visit summary
A short message with the three points agreed on site and the facts still needed. It reaches the plant head before email does.
Pilot reading
A photograph of the meter or a screenshot of the dashboard with the date, sent to the host who agreed. Save the same reading to the record.
Service visit confirmation
A message naming the engineer, the time and the gate. It spares the host a surprise at the plant.
Consultant forward pack
A one-page summary and datasheet an energy auditor can forward to a client. Keep it factual and current.
Opt-in note
A line asking the contact to confirm they want updates by chat. Record the answer.

Who it is for

This is written for these ClimateTech startups.

  • Energy efficiency and monitoring technology startups
  • Carbon accounting and ESG reporting software companies
  • Solar, battery storage and rooftop energy technology startups
  • Waste-to-value, recycling and circular economy startups
  • Water recycling and effluent treatment technology startups
  • EV charging and electric fleet startups

Not for

It is not the right fit if.

  • The founder's personal number is the only line, and the history would leave with them.
  • Contacts have not agreed to messages, so a broadcast would reach people who may report the number.
  • The buyer's procurement needs formal quotes by email only, and chat would add noise.

How it works

How the whatsapp marketing work runs

The work itself, in order. How an engagement starts, from your brief to a written scope, is set out on our method page.

  1. 1

Read the chats you already have

We read how customers write to you, which questions repeat and where a chat goes quiet. The repeated questions decide what gets automated first.

  2. 2

Sort the list and the permission

Contacts who asked to hear from you are separated from numbers that only sit in a phone book. We agree the wording new contacts will see before they say yes.

  3. 3

Choose the app or the API

One phone and a small team can stay on the ordinary app. Several people on one number, templates or a CRM link need the API through a provider, which is its own piece of setup work.

  4. 4

Write the replies and the plan

The greeting, away message, saved replies and handover rule are written in your words and approved by you. The message plan and its templates follow.

  5. 5

    Connect the record and test

Each link carries its source line and each chat lands in the CRM. We test on real phones, including a customer who asks for a person.

  6. 6

    Read the unanswered questions

A question the first reply could not answer becomes a new saved reply or a fixed handover. Stop requests are watched too, with the number's quality rating where the API is used, since both show a message plan that has gone too far.

Where this fits

Three pieces of sales work, in this order.

This work sits inside sales process design, at stage 0, foundation. The audit comes before it, and sales management keeps it running.

  1. Step 1

    Sales audit

Find where deals are being lost and what to fix first.

Start here if you cannot say where orders are lost.

  2. Step 2 · you are here

    Sales process design

One written way to sell, from first enquiry to repeat order.

Start here if every salesperson sells differently.

  3. Step 3

    Sales management

A target, a review routine and someone who owns the number.

Start here if the team has targets and no routine.

FAQ

Questions owners ask before they call.

Not here? More answers, or ask on WhatsApp.

Can we send bulk messages?
Only to people who have agreed to receive them, and only within the platform's current rules, which you should check before starting. For a small set of plant heads and consultants, personal messages work better than a broadcast.
Is WhatsApp right for formal quotes?
Use it to alert the buyer and to send a short summary. Keep the formal quote as an attachment or an email so finance has a proper document, and note in your record that it was sent.
Who should hold the business number?
A company number, not a founder's personal one, so history stays with the business. We help set up the profile and a shared way for the team to see and answer messages.
Is it safe to share site photographs on chat?
Only with the host's permission, and without staff faces or visible product details they call confidential. A plant has its own rules on photography. Ask once at the start of the pilot, record the answer and share only what the host agreed.
How much does it cost?
There is no price list, because the work differs by business. The fee is scoped after we have read your brief and spoken to you, and put in writing before anything starts, split into our time, your media spend and production.
How long is the contract?
The term is agreed in writing after we have spoken, along with the fee and the reporting. It is never a default twelve months, and renewal is decided on the numbers against the baseline recorded at the start.
How soon will we see results?
It depends on the trade, the channel and what is already in place. After we have read your brief and spoken to you, we say what we would expect to move first and how it will be measured against the baseline. Nothing here is guaranteed.
Who will actually do the work?
The person you speak to before anything starts. We work from one office in Nagarbhavi, Bengaluru, with no account managers in between.
What do you need from us?
Your brief, and a conversation. After that, access to whatever this work touches, such as your website, your accounts or your enquiry record, and time with the people who handle your enquiries.
What if we are not happy with the work?
Tell us and the plan changes. Everything is reported against the baseline, so a number that is not moving is visible to both sides. The term is in your written scope, and the refund and cancellation policy sets out the rest.
