Magicians and mentalists · Lead generation

Reach the parents, planners, halls and schools who book a magician.

Lead generation for a magician or mentalist means finding the people who hire a show: birthday planners, banquet hall managers, school coordinators, wedding planners and corporate organisers. GullySales works on the profile page, the enquiry route and the list of planners and halls worth approaching.

Scope, fee, reporting and term are agreed in writing after we have read your brief and spoken to you.

What lead generation means

Lead generation is the combined work of every channel that brings in a new enquiry, whether from search, adverts, referrals or a stall at an exhibition. GullySales runs these channels together and reports the number of enquiries each one produced, not the activity behind it.

For magicians and mentalists

Where it usually goes wrong, and what we would do.

  • “The parent books once, the planner books every weekend”

A parent hires a magician for one birthday. A birthday planner who runs a party every Saturday hires again and again. A performer who reaches planners gets repeat dates instead of single bookings.

  • “A hall manager is asked for entertainers all the time”

A banquet hall or party venue gets the question 'do you know a magician' from its clients. The hall that has your clip and your number answers with your name.

  • “Schools book months before the event”

A principal or an activity coordinator fixes annual day and activity-week acts when the calendar is drawn. A note that arrives after that finds the slot gone.

  • “A company wants a different act from a family”

An HR head looks for a mentalist or a stage act that suits a mixed office audience and comes with a GST invoice. The birthday reel does not answer that question.

What we do

What we deliver for magicians and mentalists.

Every deliverable, what it covers for you, and the result it is there to produce. Nothing here is an extra.

  1. A profile page built for bookers

Two clips, a short bio, stage and sound needs, show formats and an enquiry form.

Result: A planner or parent can judge the act in two minutes.

  2. An enquiry form that asks the right questions

Date, city, venue, age group, number of guests and show length, collected before the first reply.

Result: Each enquiry arrives with the facts needed to quote.

  3. A target list of planners, halls and schools

Birthday planners, banquet halls, schools and company admin heads in the localities you travel to, with a contact where one exists.

Result: You hold a written list to approach.

  4. A one-document planner pack

The show formats, rate bands, what you bring and a sample running order, in a file a planner can forward to a client.

Result: A planner can recommend you without writing a message of their own.

  5. An enquiry log

Each enquiry with its source, date, status and next step.

Result: No date request is left unanswered.

How the result is measured

  • Enquiries generated
  • Cost per enquiry
  • Enquiries by source

Recorded as a baseline before work starts, so every later report has an honest comparison.

What to capture or send

What to record from a show enquiry before you quote.

Type of event and age group
A seventh birthday, a sangeet cocktail hour, a school annual day or a client dinner. Noted at the first message, because it decides the show length, the act and the rate.
Date, city and hall
The date and venue, checked against your calendar before anything is promised. A hall with a low ceiling or no stage changes the illusions you can bring.
Who is booking
Parent, birthday planner, hall manager, school or company. Recorded because a planner sends a client every weekend and a parent books once.
Number of guests and seating
The count of children or guests, and whether they sit on the floor, at tables or in rows. Asked once and used to pick the format and the sound.
Who provides the stage and sound
Whether the hall supplies a microphone, a stage and power points, or you bring them. Settles the equipment line of the quote and avoids a dispute on the day.

Who it is for

This is written for these magicians and mentalists.

  • Children's birthday party magicians
  • Stage illusionists for annual days and cultural evenings
  • Close-up and table magicians for weddings and receptions
  • Mentalists for corporate dinners and team events
  • Magicians for school visits and activity weeks
  • Comedy magicians for family shows and housing societies
  • Magic and balloon entertainers for play schools
  • Roaming magicians for malls, launches and exhibitions

Not for

It is not the right fit if.

  • Your calendar is kept in several places, so a new enquiry could be accepted for a date already promised
  • You have no clip you may show publicly, and a planner who asks to see the act would be sent nothing

How it works

How the lead generation work runs

The work itself, in order. How an engagement starts, from your brief to a written scope, is set out on our method page.

  1. 1

    Understand your capacity

We ask how many enquiries your team can answer well, who answers after hours, and what a good enquiry looks like. Without this, the system fills a funnel nobody is watching.

  2. 2

    Audit current sources

We read your call log, WhatsApp chats, enquiry sheet and platform dashboards. The baseline is recorded: enquiries by source, reply time, conversion and cost per order.

  3. 3

    Strategise the channel mix

Search and maps are chosen for people ready to buy, ads for people who are not yet looking, and content and referrals for trust.

  4. 4

    Implement capture and follow-up

Pages, forms, tags, the lead record and the first-reply message are built and tested end to end. We submit test enquiries ourselves before any media money is spent.

  5. 5

    Measure and optimise

Enquiries are traced to source and judged by what became orders, not by volume alone. Channels that fill the sheet with poor enquiries are cut back. How often you are reported to is agreed in writing.

Where this fits

Three pieces of sales work, in this order.

This work sits inside sales process design, at stage 1, prospecting and lead generation. The audit comes before it, and sales management keeps it running.

  1. Step 1

    Sales audit

Find where deals are being lost and what to fix first.

Start here if you cannot say where orders are lost.

  2. Step 2 · you are here

    Sales process design

One written way to sell, from first enquiry to repeat order.

Start here if every salesperson sells differently.

  3. Step 3

    Sales management

A target, a review routine and someone who owns the number.

Start here if the team has targets and no routine.

FAQ

Questions owners ask before they call.

How do I find the planners who hire entertainers?
Start with the planners and halls behind the birthdays and weddings you have already played, and the vendor pages of party venues in your city. Write one short message to each with a clip and your pack. A real introduction from a hall manager carries more than a cold message.
Should I chase birthdays or corporate shows?
Birthdays fill weekends and holidays, while corporate evenings and school programmes fall on weekdays and in the quiet months. Choose the mix by looking at your own calendar for the past year, and see which weekdays stayed empty.
What if I have no big names to list?
List the events you have played, with the host's permission, and show a clip from each. A clear page, a fair quote and a quick reply matter to a booker more than a long client list.
Do I tell a planner what commission they will get?
Only if you have decided it and written it down. A planner who recommends you wants to know whether a referral share exists before they send a client. Keep the arrangement in a short note both sides can read, and agree it before the first event.
How much does it cost?
There is no price list, because the work differs by business. The fee is scoped after we have read your brief and spoken to you, and put in writing before anything starts, split into our time, your media spend and production.
How long is the contract?
The term is agreed in writing after we have spoken, along with the fee and the reporting. It is never a default twelve months, and renewal is decided on the numbers against the baseline recorded at the start.
How soon will we see results?
It depends on the trade, the channel and what is already in place. After we have read your brief and spoken to you, we say what we would expect to move first and how it will be measured against the baseline. Nothing here is guaranteed.
Who will actually do the work?
The person you speak to before anything starts. We work from one office in Nagarbhavi, Bengaluru, with no account managers in between.
What do you need from us?
Your brief, and a conversation. After that, access to whatever this work touches, such as your website, your accounts or your enquiry record, and time with the people who handle your enquiries.
What if we are not happy with the work?
Tell us and the plan changes. Everything is reported against the baseline, so a number that is not moving is visible to both sides. The term is in your written scope, and the refund and cancellation policy sets out the rest.
