Online marketplaces · WhatsApp marketing

Use WhatsApp to reach sellers and buyers in the app that they already open.

WhatsApp marketing for a marketplace covers seller onboarding, lead alerts, order updates and buyer follow-up through the app that people in India already use. GullySales plans the messages, the consent and the human handover, so a conversation never ends in a bot loop.

Scope, fee, reporting and term are agreed in writing after we have read your brief and spoken to you.

What WhatsApp marketing means

WhatsApp marketing is sending updates, offers and reminders to customers on the app most Indian buyers already check daily. GullySales sets up business WhatsApp, writes the message templates and keeps the list consented and current.

For online marketplaces

Where it usually goes wrong, and what we would do.

  • “A seller runs the business from WhatsApp”

The electrician, the caterer and the tutor already take orders, send photos and chat with customers there. A platform that asks them to learn a separate dashboard loses to one that reaches them where they work.

  • “Lead alerts work only if they arrive in the seller's language”

A message in formal English may go unread. The same alert in Kannada, Tamil, Hindi or Telugu, with the area and the service stated plainly, gets answered.

  • “Buyers want a human when something goes wrong”

An order update by message is welcome, while a dispute answered by a bot is not. The path to a person has to be visible in every message.

  • “Broadcasting to a purchased list damages the number”

Messaging people who never agreed to hear from the platform draws complaints and can get the number restricted. Sellers and buyers should have opted in, and the opt-in should be on record.

What we do

What we deliver for online marketplaces.

Every deliverable, what it covers for you, and the result it is there to produce. Nothing here is an extra.

  1. Seller onboarding flow

A message sequence guiding a new seller through listing, with a link to a call from a person at any point.

Result: A seller can finish listing in chat or ask for a call.

  2. Lead alert templates

Short messages telling a seller about a new buyer enquiry, in the languages your sellers use.

Result: Alerts name the service, the area and how to reply.

  3. Order and dispute messages

Templates for confirmation, completion, payment and dispute updates, each with a route to a person.

Result: Every message carries a way to reach someone.

  4. Consent and opt-in record

A simple record of who agreed to receive messages, when and how.

Result: Messages go only to people with a recorded opt-in.

  5. Seller group guidance

A plan for how field executives take part in trade groups without broadcasting, and what to post.

Result: Group activity follows a written plan and the group's own rules.

How the result is measured

  • Messages delivered
  • Reply rate
  • Enquiries from WhatsApp

Recorded as a baseline before work starts, so every later report has an honest comparison.

What to capture or send

The messages on WhatsApp that move a seller or a buyer to the next step.

Seller welcome and profile checklist
A message after sign-up listing what to add, in the seller's language. The onboarding team sends it and logs when the seller finishes.
New lead alert
A short alert with the service, the locality and how to reply. It must reach the seller as soon as the buyer asks, and carry no buyer details until accepted.
Booking confirmation for the buyer
A message with the seller's name, the time and a number for problems. It is the buyer's record if a dispute follows.
Dispute or complaint acknowledgement
A message from a person, not a bot, saying the complaint is logged and who will call. Buyers who write in anger want a human reply.
Opt-in and stop record
The date a seller or buyer agreed to receive messages and any request to stop. Check the platform's current rules before any bulk sending.

Who it is for

This is written for these online marketplaces.

  • Local services marketplaces for plumbers, electricians, tutors and beauty professionals
  • B2B marketplaces connecting manufacturers and buyers
  • Product marketplaces for a niche, such as handlooms, organic food or industrial spares
  • Rental marketplaces for equipment, vehicles, furniture or space
  • Freelance and talent marketplaces
  • Agri marketplaces connecting farmers with buyers
  • Used goods and refurbished device marketplaces
  • Hyperlocal delivery marketplaces serving one town
  • Travel and experiences marketplaces connecting local hosts and guests

Not for

It is not the right fit if.

  • Your seller phone numbers came from a bought list, and messages to them would risk the business number.
  • You have no one to take over when a conversation needs a person, so an automated flow would leave buyers stuck.

How it works

How the whatsapp marketing work runs

The work itself, in order. How an engagement starts, from your brief to a written scope, is set out on our method page.

  1. 1

Read the chats you already have

We read how customers write to you, which questions repeat and where a chat goes quiet. The repeated questions decide what gets automated first.

  2. 2

Sort the list and the permission

Contacts who asked to hear from you are separated from numbers that only sit in a phone book. We agree the wording new contacts will see before they say yes.

  3. 3

Choose the app or the API

One phone and a small team can stay on the ordinary app. Several people on one number, templates or a CRM link need the API through a provider, which is its own piece of setup work.

  4. 4

Write the replies and the plan

The greeting, away message, saved replies and handover rule are written in your words and approved by you. The message plan and its templates follow.

  5. 5

    Connect the record and test

Each link carries its source line and each chat lands in the CRM. We test on real phones, including a customer who asks for a person.

  6. 6

    Read the unanswered questions

A question the first reply could not answer becomes a new saved reply or a fixed handover. Stop requests are watched too, with the number's quality rating where the API is used, since both show a message plan that has gone too far.

Where this fits

Three pieces of sales work, in this order.

This work sits inside sales process design, at stage 0, foundation. The audit comes before it, and sales management keeps it running.

  1. Step 1

    Sales audit

Find where deals are being lost and what to fix first.

Start here if you cannot say where orders are lost.

  2. Step 2 · you are here

    Sales process design

One written way to sell, from first enquiry to repeat order.

Start here if every salesperson sells differently.

  3. Step 3

    Sales management

A target, a review routine and someone who owns the number.

Start here if the team has targets and no routine.

FAQ

Questions owners ask before they call.

Not here? More answers, or ask on WhatsApp.

Do we need the WhatsApp Business API?
It depends on volume and on whether you want templates and automation. A small team can begin with the Business app and move later. Check the platform's current rules and pricing before choosing.
Can we add sellers to a group and post offers?
Only with their agreement, and with respect for the group's rules. Adding people without asking leads to complaints and exits. A field executive known to the trade can invite sellers who then choose to join.
Will you run the conversations for us?
We can write the messages and set up the flow, and our team can handle outreach calls from our Nagarbhavi office in the languages needed. The split between your team and ours is agreed in writing.
Should lead alerts go to the owner or to the person who answers the phone?
Ask the seller at sign-up and send alerts to the person who answers, with the owner copied if they wish. A lead that reaches the wrong phone is lost. Marketplaces lose bookings here, so record both numbers and check they work.
How much does it cost?
There is no price list, because the work differs by business. The fee is scoped after we have read your brief and spoken to you, and put in writing before anything starts, split into our time, your media spend and production.
How long is the contract?
The term is agreed in writing after we have spoken, along with the fee and the reporting. It is never a default twelve months, and renewal is decided on the numbers against the baseline recorded at the start.
How soon will we see results?
It depends on the trade, the channel and what is already in place. After we have read your brief and spoken to you, we say what we would expect to move first and how it will be measured against the baseline. Nothing here is guaranteed.
Who will actually do the work?
The person you speak to before anything starts. We work from one office in Nagarbhavi, Bengaluru, with no account managers in between.
What do you need from us?
Your brief, and a conversation. After that, access to whatever this work touches, such as your website, your accounts or your enquiry record, and time with the people who handle your enquiries.
What if we are not happy with the work?
Tell us and the plan changes. Everything is reported against the baseline, so a number that is not moving is visible to both sides. The term is in your written scope, and the refund and cancellation policy sets out the rest.
