Pet service businesses · Customer retention

A dog groomed every few weeks for eight years is the whole business model.

Retention for a pet business is the dog who comes back on his cycle and the family who boards with you every trip. Frequency is high and each visit is small, which is exactly where a loyalty scheme earns its keep. GullySales sets up the reminders, the prepaid packages and the check on pets who have stopped coming.

A 90-minute audit call and a written, scored report. Turnaround, reporting and term are agreed in writing after the audit.

What customer retention means

Customer retention is keeping an existing customer buying again rather than losing them to a competitor after the first purchase, usually cheaper than winning a new customer. GullySales sets a routine of check-ins and renewal reminders aimed at customers before they show signs of leaving.

For pet service businesses

Where it usually goes wrong, and what we would do.

  • “A loyalty scheme genuinely works in this trade”

Unlike most businesses, you see the same dog many times a year for a modest amount. A prepaid pack of grooms, or a free bath after a set number, fits that pattern and gets used.

  • “Two missed cycles means he is going somewhere else”

Pet parents rarely announce that they have switched. The dog simply stops appearing. Measured against his own grooming cycle rather than a calendar, the switch shows up early enough to ring.

  • “The pet ages, and your offer should age with him”

A puppy customer needs training, a middle-aged dog needs regular grooming and boarding, an old dog needs gentler handling and shorter sessions. Following the dog's life keeps the family for a decade.

What we do

What we deliver for pet service businesses.

Every deliverable, what it covers for you, and the result it is there to produce. Nothing here is an extra.

  1. Reminders timed to each pet's own cycle

Due dates worked out per pet from coat type and past visits, with the message naming the dog and the service.

Result: Repeat visits stop depending on the parent remembering.

  2. A prepaid package that suits the frequency

A pack of grooms or boarding days bought in advance, priced so it is worth taking and simple enough to explain at the counter.

Result: The next visits are committed before he leaves.

  3. A lapsed pet list worked through

Pets past two of their own cycles pulled into a list, with a call asking after the dog rather than pitching a service.

Result: You find out why a regular stopped coming.

  4. Boarding regulars contacted before the holiday rush

Families who boarded with you last festival season approached before the dates fill, with their usual run held.

Result: Your best customers are not squeezed out by new enquiries.

  5. Repeat rate reported against the baseline

Repeat grooming and boarding visits reported against the baseline recorded before work started, separately from new enquiries.

Result: You can see whether the regulars are actually staying.

How the result is measured

  • Retention rate
  • Repeat purchase rate
  • Customers won back

Recorded as a baseline before work starts, so every later report has an honest comparison.

Not for

It is not the right fit if.

  • You want a guaranteed Google ranking or a guaranteed number of leads. Nobody honest can promise either.
  • You need enquiries by next week and have nobody to answer them.
  • You want posts and reach reported, not enquiries and orders.

How it works

From your first message to the first report.

No open-ended retainer. Every step gives you something in writing.

  1. 01 · First

    Free audit call

90 minutes with whoever handles your enquiries: how they arrive, how fast they are answered, where they are lost.

  2. 02 · After the call

    Written, scored report

Six areas scored, fixes ranked by return and cost. If you want our help, the scope, the fee and the reporting come with it, in writing.

  3. 03 · Before work starts

    Baseline recorded

Enquiries by source, reply time, conversion and cost per order, written down so every later report has an honest comparison.

  4. 04 · After the baseline

    The first fix goes live

Usually the cheapest one on the report: reply time, a follow-up sequence or the marketing-to-sales handover.

  5. 05 · As agreed

    Report against the baseline

What moved, what did not, and what changes next, in plain words. How often you get it is set in writing before work starts.

  6. 06 · At renewal

    Renew on the numbers

The term ends and you decide whether to continue from the results. The length is agreed in writing before anything starts.

How the work runs for pet service businesses

  1. 1

    Assess

We look at your facility photos, review reply rate, booking system and whether a reminder goes out before the next visit is due.

  2. 2

    Fix the response

WhatsApp booking confirmations, reminders and a missed-message routine, so no enquiry sits overnight without a reply.

  3. 3

    Build trust

Real facility photos and short videos, reviews from actual customers, and staff introductions that a nervous parent can see.

  4. 4

    Bring bookings in

Local search and the Google Business Profile, a festival season campaign for boarding, and referrals from vets and pet stores nearby.

  5. 5

    Retain

Grooming cycle reminders, a loyalty routine for repeat boarding customers, and a review ask timed to a good stay or a good groom.

Why us

Why owners pick GullySales over an agency.

  • Marketing and sales, as one job

Most agencies stop at the enquiry. We also fix what happens after it: the reply, the follow-up, the quote and the CRM.

  • The person on the first call does the work

No account managers in between. You are never handed to someone you have not met.

  • A baseline before anything starts

Your numbers are written down on day one, so every later report compares against something honest.

  • The fee in writing, split three ways

Our time, your media spend and production on separate lines. You always see what goes to us.

  • No guarantees we cannot keep

The term is agreed in writing and never a default twelve months. We never promise a ranking or a lead count, because nobody controls those.

  • One office, and we say so

Nagarbhavi, Bengaluru. We work across India by call and WhatsApp and travel when a session needs to be in person.

#257, 3rd floor, Sri Nanjundeshwara Complex, Nagarbhavi 8th Block, Outer Ring Road. How we work.

FAQ

Questions owners ask before they call.

Not here? More answers, or ask on WhatsApp.

Is a loyalty card worth it for a grooming salon?
Yes, this is one of the trades where it genuinely pays. Visits are frequent and the amount is small, so a free bath after a set number of grooms changes behaviour. Keep it simple enough to run on a card at the counter.
A regular customer has stopped coming. Should we call?
Call and ask after the dog, not after the booking. Sometimes the pet has died, sometimes the family moved, and sometimes a groom went badly and nobody told you. All three are worth knowing, and only one of them is a lost customer.
Do we need to advertise?
Not before the Maps profile and the reply routine work. Ads help most for one gap, such as boarding dates still open three weeks before Diwali.
Should our boarding page say we ask for vaccination records?
Yes. A parent reads it as a sign that the other dogs in the run are healthy too. Name the vaccines you check and the kennel cough rule, and the question stops coming up on every call.
How much does it cost?
There is no price list, because the work differs by business. The fee is scoped in the free audit and put in writing before anything starts, split into our time, your media spend and production.
How long is the contract?
The term is agreed in writing after the audit, along with the fee and the reporting. It is never a default twelve months, and renewal is decided on the numbers against the baseline recorded at the start.
How soon will we see results?
Fixes to reply time, follow-up and your Google Business Profile are the quickest to show, because the enquiries already exist. Ads can follow soon after follow-up is in place. SEO and content take longer. How long each takes depends on your business, and the audit tells you which applies to you. Nothing here is guaranteed.
Who will actually do the work?
The person you meet on the audit call. We work from one office in Nagarbhavi, Bengaluru, with no account managers in between.
What do you need from us?
For the audit, last month's enquiries in any format and 90 minutes with whoever handles them. After that, access to the accounts the work touches, such as the website, Google Business Profile or CRM, and time for the review meetings.
