Corporate lawyers · Search engine optimisation

Be the page a promoter reads when the search is for a clause, not a firm.

SEO for a corporate law firm means writing pages that answer what a founder or finance head types while holding a draft: the clause, the filing, the structure. GullySales builds those pages and the site structure around them, and promises no ranking.

Scope, fee, reporting and term are agreed in writing after we have read your brief and spoken to you.

What search engine optimisation means

Search engine optimisation (SEO) is the work of getting your website to appear when a buyer searches Google for what you sell. GullySales builds pages around real search terms, fixes technical issues that block ranking, and tracks which searches actually bring enquiries.

For corporate lawyers

Where it usually goes wrong, and what we would do.

  • “Buyers search the document, not the firm”

A promoter types a clause name or asks what a share purchase agreement must contain. The firm that explains the clause plainly gets read before the firm that lists its practice areas.

  • “One page per practice area is too coarse”

A single corporate page cannot rank for fundraising, demergers and joint ventures at once. Each deal has its own words, its own questions and its own reader, so each needs its own page.

  • “Pages written for lawyers read as noise to founders”

Citations and defined terms satisfy a partner but lose the promoter. A page can be accurate and still open with what the buyer is trying to do, then move to the detail.

  • “Out-of-date explainers do harm”

A note on a filing rule that has since changed misleads the reader who finds it through search. Each page needs a named partner who reviews it when the law moves.

What we do

What we deliver for corporate lawyers.

Every deliverable, what it covers for you, and the result it is there to produce. Nothing here is an extra.

  1. Search topic map for deals

A list of the questions founders and finance heads ask about each transaction, grouped by the page that should answer them.

Result: Every planned page has a clear question it answers.

  2. Deal explainer pages

Plain-language pages on a fundraise, an acquisition or a joint venture, setting out the documents and the order they arrive in.

Result: A reader with a draft in hand finds the page on that draft.

  3. Partner profile pages

A page for each partner stating practice, publications and transaction types in general terms.

Result: Each profile names the same transactions as the deal pages.

  4. Review-date note on each page

A visible line naming the partner who reviewed the page and when it was last checked against current law.

Result: A reader can see how recently each page was reviewed.

  5. Internal linking between deal pages

Links from a fundraise page to the shareholders' agreement page and the due diligence page, in the order a deal moves.

Result: A reader can follow a deal from term sheet to closing inside the site.

How the result is measured

  • Ranking positions
  • Organic traffic
  • Enquiries from organic search

Recorded as a baseline before work starts, so every later report has an honest comparison.

How it works

How the search engine optimisation work runs

The work itself, in order. How an engagement starts, from your brief to a written scope, is set out on our method page.

  1. 1

    Audit and baseline

We record where the site stands today: positions, traffic, technical faults and the enquiries search currently produces. Nothing starts until this number is written down.

  2. 2

    Decide what to rank for

We map the searches your buyers use, in your words and theirs, and pick the ones worth the effort for your margin and your capacity.

  3. 3

    Fix the foundations

Technical faults first, because the cheapest gains are usually there. Then the Business Profile and directory consistency.

  4. 4

    Build the pages

A page for each thing you do, written to answer the question it is searched for, with a clear next step at the end.

  5. 5

    Publish and earn mentions

Content goes out on the calendar. Links and mentions are earned from real relationships, not bought.

  6. 6

    Measure, report, adjust

At the interval agreed at the start we report what moved and what did not, and change the plan when the numbers say so.

Where this fits

Three pieces of sales work, in this order.

This work sits inside sales process design, at stage 1, prospecting and lead generation. The audit comes before it, and sales management keeps it running.

  1. Step 1

    Sales audit

Find where deals are being lost and what to fix first.

Start here if you cannot say where orders are lost.

  2. Step 2 · you are here

    Sales process design

One written way to sell, from first enquiry to repeat order.

Start here if every salesperson sells differently.

  3. Step 3

    Sales management

A target, a review routine and someone who owns the number.

Start here if the team has targets and no routine.

Will we rank first for corporate lawyer searches?
No ranking can be promised. Search engines decide it. The work is to publish accurate pages for specific transactions, so that when a founder searches for that deal the firm is a sensible result.
Should the partners write the pages themselves?
The partners should review every page. A writer can draft from a partner's notes, and the partner corrects the law and signs off. Advertising rules differ by profession and by state, so check with your own bar council or adviser before anything goes out.
How much does it cost?
There is no price list, because the work differs by business. The fee is scoped after we have read your brief and spoken to you, and put in writing before anything starts, split into our time, your media spend and production.
How long is the contract?
The term is agreed in writing after we have spoken, along with the fee and the reporting. It is never a default twelve months, and renewal is decided on the numbers against the baseline recorded at the start.
How soon will we see results?
It depends on the trade, the channel and what is already in place. After we have read your brief and spoken to you, we say what we would expect to move first and how it will be measured against the baseline. Nothing here is guaranteed.
Who will actually do the work?
The person you speak to before anything starts. We work from one office in Nagarbhavi, Bengaluru, with no account managers in between.
What do you need from us?
Your brief, and a conversation. After that, access to whatever this work touches, such as your website, your accounts or your enquiry record, and time with the people who handle your enquiries.
What if we are not happy with the work?
Tell us and the plan changes. Everything is reported against the baseline, so a number that is not moving is visible to both sides. The term is in your written scope, and the refund and cancellation policy sets out the rest.
