Criminal defence lawyers · WhatsApp marketing

Use WhatsApp to acknowledge a call at night and to send the first-steps note.

WhatsApp for a criminal defence practice is the channel where a family sends a message when a call goes unanswered, and where the chamber replies with a name and a next step. GullySales sets up the account, the replies and the rules on what is never sent.

Scope, fee, reporting and term are agreed in writing after we have read your brief and spoken to you.

What WhatsApp marketing means

WhatsApp marketing is sending updates, offers and reminders to customers on the app most Indian buyers already check daily. GullySales sets up business WhatsApp, writes the message templates and keeps the list consented and current.

For criminal defence lawyers

Where it usually goes wrong, and what we would do.

  • “A family writes when they cannot get through”

A relative who finds the chamber busy at night will send a message instead. A reply that names who has the call and when someone will phone back turns a missed call into a held enquiry.

  • “Personal numbers put the chamber at risk”

A junior using a personal phone mixes client messages with family chats and loses them when changing phones. A business account on a chamber-owned device, with a rule on who may reply, keeps the record in one place.

  • “Detail does not belong in a message”

A family may start describing the alleged facts in writing. The reply should move them to a call and say that the chamber does not discuss a matter by message. Written detail on a phone is a confidentiality risk.

  • “Broadcast messages are the wrong tool”

Sending promotional messages to a list of contacts invites complaints and may breach advertising rules for advocates. Use the channel for replies to people who wrote first, and for sending a document the person asked for.

What we do

What we deliver for criminal defence lawyers.

Every deliverable, what it covers for you, and the result it is there to produce. Nothing here is an extra.

  1. A WhatsApp Business account for the chamber

Set up on a chamber-owned phone with the chamber's name, hours and a plain description, and a named owner.

Result: The chamber has one account with one responsible person.

  2. A set of saved replies

A first acknowledgement, an out-of-hours reply and a reply that moves a message to a call, each approved by a partner.

Result: Juniors reply in the chamber's words.

  3. A first-steps document sent on request

A short PDF on what to do after an arrest or police notice, sent only to a person who asked.

Result: A worried reader can open it on a phone and forward it.

  4. A rule on what is never sent

A short written list: no statements, no case detail, no promise of any outcome, no documents from the client's file.

Result: Every user of the account knows the limits.

  5. A handover note between juniors

A routine for passing a chat to the next person on the rota with the register entry updated.

Result: A message is never left with someone who is off duty.

How the result is measured

  • Messages delivered
  • Reply rate
  • Enquiries from WhatsApp

Recorded as a baseline before work starts, so every later report has an honest comparison.

How it works

How the whatsapp marketing work runs

The work itself, in order. How an engagement starts, from your brief to a written scope, is set out on our method page.

  1. 1

    Understand current WhatsApp use

We review how customers currently message you and how consistently, if at all, it is answered.

  2. 2

    Audit common questions

We identify the questions that come up repeatedly, which decide what should be automated first.

  3. 3

    Set up automation and templates

An automated first response and quick reply templates are built for the most common needs.

  4. 4

    Connect to the CRM

Conversations are linked to customer records so context carries over between team members.

  5. 5

    Measure and optimise

We track response time and conversion, refining automated responses based on what customers actually ask.

Where this fits

Three pieces of sales work, in this order.

This work sits inside sales process design, at stage 0, foundation. The audit comes before it, and sales management keeps it running.

  1. Step 1

    Sales audit

Find where deals are being lost and what to fix first.

Start here if you cannot say where orders are lost.

  2. Step 2 · you are here

    Sales process design

One written way to sell, from first enquiry to repeat order.

Start here if every salesperson sells differently.

  3. Step 3

    Sales management

A target, a review routine and someone who owns the number.

Start here if the team has targets and no routine.

FAQ

Questions owners ask before they call.

Not here? More answers, or ask on WhatsApp.

Can we message former clients about new services?
Not without checking your bar council's rules, and consent rules for messaging also apply. Reply to people who wrote to you, and do not use the account for promotion until you have a written answer on what is allowed.
Should the chamber use a group for each client?
Be careful. A group puts a matter in front of everyone added to it and is hard to close. Use direct chats, keep the detail for calls and meetings and record only the intake entry in the register.
What happens if a message arrives at two in the morning?
The out-of-hours reply acknowledges it and says who will phone and when the office reopens. Whoever is on the rota reads the chat. The reply sets the expectation; it does not give advice.
How much does it cost?
There is no price list, because the work differs by business. The fee is scoped after we have read your brief and spoken to you, and put in writing before anything starts, split into our time, your media spend and production.
How long is the contract?
The term is agreed in writing after we have spoken, along with the fee and the reporting. It is never a default twelve months, and renewal is decided on the numbers against the baseline recorded at the start.
How soon will we see results?
It depends on the trade, the channel and what is already in place. After we have read your brief and spoken to you, we say what we would expect to move first and how it will be measured against the baseline. Nothing here is guaranteed.
Who will actually do the work?
The person you speak to before anything starts. We work from one office in Nagarbhavi, Bengaluru, with no account managers in between.
What do you need from us?
Your brief, and a conversation. After that, access to whatever this work touches, such as your website, your accounts or your enquiry record, and time with the people who handle your enquiries.
What if we are not happy with the work?
Tell us and the plan changes. Everything is reported against the baseline, so a number that is not moving is visible to both sides. The term is in your written scope, and the refund and cancellation policy sets out the rest.
