Marketing consultants · Search engine optimisation

Be the page a worried founder finds when the agency is not working.

SEO for a marketing consultant means writing pages for the situations a founder searches, such as an agency that cannot be assessed or a budget with no owner. GullySales works on those pages, the links between them and the proof that makes a reader trust what they find.

Scope, fee, reporting and term are agreed in writing after we have read your brief and spoken to you.

What search engine optimisation means

Search engine optimisation (SEO) is the work of getting your website to appear when a buyer searches Google for what you sell. GullySales builds pages around real search terms, fixes technical issues that block ranking, and tracks which searches actually bring enquiries.

For marketing consultants

Where it usually goes wrong, and what we would do.

  • “Broad service terms belong to agencies”

Searches for digital marketing services are answered by agencies with large sites and long service lists. A solo adviser has little chance there, and the visitor wants delivery anyway. The search that suits a consultant describes a decision the founder cannot make alone.

  • “Founders search the symptom, not the job title”

Nobody types fractional marketing head until someone has taught them the term. They type why leads have stopped growing, or whether an agency fee is worth paying. Pages that begin with the symptom and name the role further down meet the founder where the worry is.

  • “A philosophy page loses to a worked example”

Pages describing your approach read like every other adviser's. A page that walks through how you read a marketing budget, using an illustrative business clearly labelled as such, shows judgement and gives search something specific to match.

  • “Titles written for peers draw peers”

A site titled in strategy jargon attracts other marketers. The founder scans a results page for a line that sounds like their own complaint. Titles and descriptions work best in the words of the buyer's problem, with your name as the adviser behind the answer.

What we do

What we deliver for marketing consultants.

Every deliverable, what it covers for you, and the result it is there to produce. Nothing here is an extra.

  1. Search-question map

A list of the questions founders ask before hiring an adviser, grouped by situation, with one page assigned to each.

Result: Every page has a stated question it is meant to answer.

  2. Worked-example pages

Pages showing how you read spend, channels and results, using a labelled illustrative business and no client names.

Result: A reader sees your reasoning before any call.

  3. Title and description rewrite

New page titles and descriptions written in the founder's own words about the problem.

Result: Each result line sounds like a worry, not a job title.

  4. Links from thinking to scope

Internal links that take a reader from an article to the page stating what you do, refuse and charge for as a first step.

Result: A reader of any page can reach the scope page in one click.

  5. Search Console read

A review of the queries the site already appears for, with those bringing free-idea requests marked separately.

Result: You can see which queries bring buyers and which do not.

How the result is measured

  • Ranking positions
  • Organic traffic
  • Enquiries from organic search

Recorded as a baseline before work starts, so every later report has an honest comparison.

How it works

How the search engine optimisation work runs

The work itself, in order. How an engagement starts, from your brief to a written scope, is set out on our method page.

  1. 1

    Audit and baseline

We record where the site stands today: positions, traffic, technical faults and the enquiries search currently produces. Nothing starts until this number is written down.

  2. 2

    Decide what to rank for

We map the searches your buyers use, in your words and theirs, and pick the ones worth the effort for your margin and your capacity.

  3. 3

    Fix the foundations

Technical faults first, because the cheapest gains are usually there. Then the Business Profile and directory consistency.

  4. 4

    Build the pages

A page for each thing you do, written to answer the question it is searched for, with a clear next step at the end.

  5. 5

    Publish and earn mentions

Content goes out on the calendar. Links and mentions are earned from real relationships, not bought.

  6. 6

    Measure, report, adjust

At the interval agreed at the start we report what moved and what did not, and change the plan when the numbers say so.

Where this fits

Three pieces of sales work, in this order.

This work sits inside sales process design, at stage 1, prospecting and lead generation. The audit comes before it, and sales management keeps it running.

  1. Step 1

    Sales audit

Find where deals are being lost and what to fix first.

Start here if you cannot say where orders are lost.

  2. Step 2 · you are here

    Sales process design

One written way to sell, from first enquiry to repeat order.

Start here if every salesperson sells differently.

  3. Step 3

    Sales management

A target, a review routine and someone who owns the number.

Start here if the team has targets and no routine.

FAQ

Questions owners ask before they call.

Can a solo consultant rank against agencies?
Not on broad service terms, and it is not worth the effort. A narrow situation, sector or stage has a smaller crowd and a closer match. GullySales picks the narrow terms to write for and promises no position in results.
Does writing articles improve search for a consultant?
Writing works when each piece answers a question a buyer asks and links to the scope page. Writing about marketing news draws peers. We plan topics from buyer questions before anything is drafted, and look at the queries after publication.
How much does it cost?
There is no price list, because the work differs by business. The fee is scoped after we have read your brief and spoken to you, and put in writing before anything starts, split into our time, your media spend and production.
How long is the contract?
The term is agreed in writing after we have spoken, along with the fee and the reporting. It is never a default twelve months, and renewal is decided on the numbers against the baseline recorded at the start.
How soon will we see results?
It depends on the trade, the channel and what is already in place. After we have read your brief and spoken to you, we say what we would expect to move first and how it will be measured against the baseline. Nothing here is guaranteed.
Who will actually do the work?
The person you speak to before anything starts. We work from one office in Nagarbhavi, Bengaluru, with no account managers in between.
What do you need from us?
Your brief, and a conversation. After that, access to whatever this work touches, such as your website, your accounts or your enquiry record, and time with the people who handle your enquiries.
What if we are not happy with the work?
Tell us and the plan changes. Everything is reported against the baseline, so a number that is not moving is visible to both sides. The term is in your written scope, and the refund and cancellation policy sets out the rest.
