Business consultants · Email marketing

Stay in the owner's mind through the months before they sign.

Email for a consulting practice is not a newsletter about your firm, it is a planned note to owners, past clients and referrers who are not ready yet. GullySales writes that note out of your own thinking, sets the follow-up schedule for proposals sitting with a promoter, and tracks who replies.

Scope, fee, reporting and term are agreed in writing after we have read your brief and spoken to you.

What email marketing means

Email marketing is sending planned messages to a list of past and prospective customers who have agreed to hear from you. It suits offers, updates and staying in touch with someone who is not ready to buy yet. GullySales writes and schedules these emails and tracks who opens, clicks and enquires.

For business consultants

Where it usually goes wrong, and what we would do.

  • “A proposal goes quiet and nobody has a plan for week three”

The promoter said he would discuss it at home, and then an audit or a wedding took over. One call and two emails across a month recover work nobody had actually lost.

  • “Your best list is the people who already paid you”

A client whose diagnostic finished a year ago is the likeliest buyer of the implementation phase. Ask six months on what has held and what has slipped.

  • “Referrers need feeding, not selling to”

The CAs and bankers who send you clients want something they can pass on, such as a plain note on what a rule change means for a borrower.

What we do

What we deliver for business consultants.

Every deliverable, what it covers for you, and the result it is there to produce. Nothing here is an extra.

  1. A follow-up schedule fixed the day a proposal goes out

One call and two emails across a month, dated in advance and written before the silence starts, because week three is when proposals die.

Result: Work nobody actually rejected comes back.

  2. A six-month note to past clients asking what has held

A short mail on the recommendations from the diagnostic: what stuck, what slipped, and what the owner would do differently now.

Result: The implementation phase gets proposed at the moment it is wanted.

  3. A plain note for the CAs and bankers who refer you

Something a referrer can pass on without it being about you, such as what a rule change means for a borrower or an exporter.

Result: Your referrers have a reason to say your name this month.

  4. A note written out of your own thinking

Short, plain and sent from the partner's address, not a designed newsletter about what the firm has been up to.

Result: It gets read because it looks like an email from a person.

  5. The list split by past client, live proposal and referrer

Three groups held separately, so the chase, the check-in and the piece for a referrer never land on the same person at once.

Result: Nobody receives an email that was written for somebody else.

How the result is measured

  • Open rate
  • Click rate
  • Enquiries from email

Recorded as a baseline before work starts, so every later report has an honest comparison.

What must be in place first

What a consultant needs in place before emailing owners and referrers.

A list of owners who have met you
Include owners you have met at a client site, a seminar or an introduction by a banker or CA, each with the date and the issue they raised. Do not use a purchased list of MSME owners.
Referrers on a separate list
Chartered accountants, bankers, lawyers and past clients who send you work need a different note: what you can take on, what you cannot, and how to introduce someone. They are not prospects.
One problem named in each mail
Write about one problem, such as succession, cash discipline or a process that keeps failing, and what the first meeting would cover. A note covering all your services reads as a brochure.
A confidentiality check on every case
Do not name a client, a product or a figure without the client's written permission. Describe the type of company and the problem instead. A consultant who leaks one story loses the next client.
Your own domain and a full signature
Send from your practice's domain with your name, role and the type of work you do. A free webmail address makes a consultant look temporary to an owner's accountant.
An opt-out and a proper reply path
Each note has an unsubscribe link and replies that you read. An owner who writes back about a problem should get an answer and a proposed meeting date from you.

Not for

It is not the right fit if.

  • You want a guaranteed Google ranking or a guaranteed number of leads. Nobody honest can promise either.
  • You need enquiries by next week and have nobody to answer them.
  • You want posts and reach reported, not enquiries and orders.

How it works

From your first message to the first report.

No open-ended retainer. Every step gives you something in writing.

  1. First

    Your brief

You tell us what you need in a few short steps: your business, what you want, where enquiries come from and how they are handled.

  2. After the brief

A conversation and a written scope

We read it, then talk with whoever handles your enquiries. If you want our help, the scope, the fee and the reporting come in writing, and nothing starts before you have read them.

  3. Before work starts

    Baseline recorded

Enquiries by source, reply time, conversion and cost per order, written down so every later report has an honest comparison.

  4. After the baseline

    The first fix goes live

The fix we agreed to start with is put in place and measured against the baseline, whether that is reply time, a follow-up sequence, the page buyers land on or the handover between marketing and sales.

  5. As agreed

    Report against the baseline

What moved, what did not, and what changes next, in plain words. How often you get it is set in writing before work starts.

  6. At renewal

    Renew on the numbers

The term ends and you decide whether to continue from the results. The length is agreed in writing before anything starts.

How the email marketing work runs

  1. 1

    Understand your list

We review who is on the list, how they got there, and how long it has been since they last heard from you.

  2. 2

    Audit past sends

We check open and click rates from past emails to see what has and has not worked.

  3. 3

    Segment and plan

The list is split into meaningful groups and a sending calendar is agreed.

  4. 4

    Implement content and automation

Emails are written, scheduled and, where useful, set to trigger automatically based on behaviour.

  5. 5

    Measure and optimise

We track performance and adjust subject lines, timing and content based on what the list responds to.

Why us

Why owners pick GullySales over an agency.

  • Marketing and sales, as one job

Most agencies stop at the enquiry. We also fix what happens after it: the reply, the follow-up, the quote and the CRM.

  • The person on the first call does the work

No account managers in between. You are never handed to someone you have not met.

  • A baseline before anything starts

Your numbers are written down on day one, so every later report compares against something honest.

  • The fee in writing, split three ways

Our time, your media spend and production on separate lines. You always see what goes to us.

  • No guarantees we cannot keep

The term is agreed in writing and never a default twelve months. We never promise a ranking or a lead count, because nobody controls those.

  • One office, and we say so

Nagarbhavi, Bengaluru. We work across India by call and WhatsApp and travel when a session needs to be in person.

#257, 3rd floor, Sri Nanjundeshwara Complex, Nagarbhavi 8th Block, Outer Ring Road. How we work.

FAQ

Questions owners ask before they call.

Not here? More answers, or ask on WhatsApp.

Will an owner really read an email from a consultant?
The right one will, because it is short and comes from somebody he has met. A plain note gets answered where a designed newsletter is deleted.
How often should we send it?
Once a month is enough, and skipping a month beats sending filler. The follow-up schedule on live proposals matters more, and runs on its own timetable.
Can we add everyone who attended our seminar to the email list?
Not by default. An attendance sheet shows who came, not who agreed to mail. Add a tick box for follow-up notes to the sign-in sheet, or send one personal thank-you and ask them to reply if they want more. List those who agree.
Should the email come from the firm or from the founder?
For an owner deciding whether to trust you, the founder's name is stronger. Use the firm name only where the buyer is an institution. If several partners write, each should mail only the people they have met.
How can we market our work if every client is confidential?
Describe the problem and the approach without the name. For example, an account of how an auto component supplier fixed its costing is useful proof with no name attached. Some clients will also agree to be named once asked properly.
Should a consultant specialise or stay general?
Specialise in how you are presented, even if you take broader work. Owners search for their problem, and a consultant known for one thing gets referred more often than one who does everything.
How much does it cost?
There is no price list, because the work differs by business. The fee is scoped after we have read your brief and spoken to you, and put in writing before anything starts, split into our time, your media spend and production.
How long is the contract?
The term is agreed in writing after we have spoken, along with the fee and the reporting. It is never a default twelve months, and renewal is decided on the numbers against the baseline recorded at the start.
How soon will we see results?
It depends on the trade, the channel and what is already in place. After we have read your brief and spoken to you, we say what we would expect to move first and how it will be measured against the baseline. Nothing here is guaranteed.
Who will actually do the work?
The person you speak to before anything starts. We work from one office in Nagarbhavi, Bengaluru, with no account managers in between.
