Photography and videography studios · Local SEO

You travel for the shoot, but Maps only knows where you sit.

Local SEO for a studio decides whether you appear when somebody nearby searches for a photographer. That matters most for the work which comes to you: newborn sittings, product shoots and portrait work. GullySales sets up the profile and the service area, and gets reviews landing on it steadily.

Scope, fee, reporting and term are agreed in writing after we have read your brief and spoken to you.

What local SEO means

Local SEO is the work of making your business show up for searches that name your town or locality, such as a service plus an area name. GullySales sets up locality pages, local citations and map listings so nearby customers find you before a competitor across town.

For photography and videography studios

Where it usually goes wrong, and what we would do.

  • “Half your work has no address at all”

A wedding happens at a hall, a corporate film at their office, a product shoot at your place. Maps ranks the address you sit at, so the profile has to earn the shoots that come to you.

  • “A studio above a shop is hard to find and easy to leave”

Clients arriving for a portrait sitting or to collect an album need the floor, the landmark and somewhere to park. A misplaced pin turns a booked sitting into a cancelled one.

  • “Reviews on the profile are what a referral checks”

A venue or a friend recommends you and the couple looks you up within the minute. A thin profile undoes a good referral in ten seconds.

What we do

What we deliver for photography and videography studios.

Every deliverable, what it covers for you, and the result it is there to produce. Nothing here is an extra.

  1. A profile set up for the way a studio works

Categories for photography and video, the services you take, appointment-only hours if that is the truth, and the booking number on it.

Result: The listing describes the business you actually run.

  2. Service areas for the places you really cover

The towns and districts you travel to for shoots set on the profile, with the travel charge position stated plainly.

Result: Enquiries come from places you are willing to drive to.

  3. Photographs of the studio, not only the portfolio

The entrance, the stairs, the shooting floor, the viewing area and the parking, so a first-time visitor knows what they are looking for.

Result: Clients arrive on time for their sitting.

  4. Services listed shoot by shoot

Each kind of work added as a service with a short description and a starting figure where you are happy to show one.

Result: The listing answers before the phone rings.

  5. A review routine after every delivery

A request sent whenever work is handed over, across weddings, events, product shoots and sittings, rather than after one good season.

Result: Reviews build across all the work you do.

  6. A Maps report

Calls, messages, direction requests and profile views, read next to the enquiries the studio logged.

Result: You see what the listing brings in a quiet month.

How the result is measured

  • Map pack ranking
  • Local search visibility
  • Enquiries by locality

Recorded as a baseline before work starts, so every later report has an honest comparison.

What Google weighs here

How a nearby couple or brand finds a studio, and what to fix first.

Primary category
Pick Photographer or Videographer to match most of your income. A wedding studio adds Wedding photographer as a secondary. Choosing a category you rarely serve brings enquiries you will not want.
Shoot types as services
List newborn, maternity, product, pre-wedding, corporate event and drone shoots as separate services. A search for one of them then has a line on your profile to match, not just the word Photographer.
Service area against studio pin
Maps measures from your studio pin. For shoots at halls and offices, add the cities and localities you travel to and name the venues you have worked at in the description.
Reviews that name the shoot
After the album or film is delivered, ask the couple or brand to say which kind of shoot it was and in which city. Reply to every review, short and in their words.
WedMeGood, Justdial and Sulekha entries
Match the studio name, phone number and city on each of these to the Google profile. Old albums and an old studio address on a wedding portal are the usual mismatches.

Who it is for

This is written for these photography and videography studios.

  • Wedding photography and cinematography studios
  • Event and corporate videographers
  • Product and e-commerce photography studios
  • Maternity and family portrait photographers
  • Real estate and architecture photographers
  • Drone and aerial videography services
  • Multi-photographer studio chains

Not for

It is not the right fit if.

  • You work from a home address you do not wish to publish, which needs a service-area setup before anything else.
  • Your studio name differs across Maps, Instagram and your invoices, and that has to be reconciled first.

How it works

How the local SEO work runs

The work itself, in order. How an engagement starts, from your brief to a written scope, is set out on our method page.

  1. 1

    Write down what is true

Each branch's real address, signboard name, phone, hours and owning Google account go into one record you sign off. Every later listing is copied from it.

  2. 2

    Search as your buyer does

We search each branch on a phone from points around it, in your buyers' words, and note who appears with what reviews and photos.

  3. 3

    Fix the profile first

Ownership first, then name, address, pin, phone, hours and business type. Google can suspend a profile with extra words in its name or an address that is not a real premises.

  4. 4

Build the branch pages and match the listings

Each real branch gets its own page, and the other listings are changed to agree with it. We write none for towns without a branch, because Google treats near-identical pages as doorway pages.

  5. 5

    Ask, reply and measure

We agree with each branch who asks for reviews, when and how. Results are set against the baseline recorded before work began, and the branch that is behind gets the next round.

Where this fits

Three pieces of sales work, in this order.

This work sits inside sales process design, at stage 1, prospecting and lead generation. The audit comes before it, and sales management keeps it running.

  1. Step 1

    Sales audit

Find where deals are being lost and what to fix first.

Start here if you cannot say where orders are lost.

  2. Step 2 · you are here

    Sales process design

One written way to sell, from first enquiry to repeat order.

Start here if every salesperson sells differently.

  3. Step 3

    Sales management

A target, a review routine and someone who owns the number.

Start here if the team has targets and no routine.

FAQ

Questions owners ask before they call.

Not here? More answers, or ask on WhatsApp.

Should we list our home as the studio address?
Only if clients genuinely come there and you are content with it being public. Otherwise set a service area with the address hidden, which is allowed and is safer than inventing one. Album collection then happens somewhere you choose.
We shoot in three cities. Can we list a studio in each?
Only where you have a real, staffed place of work. Listings at addresses you do not occupy get taken down, and they can drag the good listing with them. For the other cities, build pages on your own website.
A rival photographer lists a studio that does not exist. What can we do?
Report it from the listing using the suggest-an-edit or report option, and give plain facts: no signboard, address is a flat or a hall. Do not post accusations. Check the platform's current rules on what counts as a false listing, and keep your own details exact meanwhile.
Should we answer the Questions and answers section ourselves?
Yes. Ask and answer the common ones as the owner: whether you travel outside the city, how the advance works, how long you keep the raw files. Anyone can post in that section, so look in now and then and correct wrong answers politely.
How much does it cost?
There is no price list, because the work differs by business. The fee is scoped after we have read your brief and spoken to you, and put in writing before anything starts, split into our time, your media spend and production.
How long is the contract?
The term is agreed in writing after we have spoken, along with the fee and the reporting. It is never a default twelve months, and renewal is decided on the numbers against the baseline recorded at the start.
How soon will we see results?
It depends on the trade, the channel and what is already in place. After we have read your brief and spoken to you, we say what we would expect to move first and how it will be measured against the baseline. Nothing here is guaranteed.
Who will actually do the work?
The person you speak to before anything starts. We work from one office in Nagarbhavi, Bengaluru, with no account managers in between.
What do you need from us?
Your brief, and a conversation. After that, access to whatever this work touches, such as your website, your accounts or your enquiry record, and time with the people who handle your enquiries.
What if we are not happy with the work?
Tell us and the plan changes. Everything is reported against the baseline, so a number that is not moving is visible to both sides. The term is in your written scope, and the refund and cancellation policy sets out the rest.
