Photography and videography studios · Pay per click advertising

Advertise for the shoot types your calendar is short of.

Paid advertising for a studio buys enquiries in weeks instead of seasons, which matters when the good dates on next winter's calendar are already going. GullySales runs search and social campaigns by shoot type, keeps the student and job traffic out of them, and measures the spend against dates booked rather than clicks.

Scope, fee, reporting and term are agreed in writing after we have read your brief and spoken to you.

What pay per click advertising means

Pay per click advertising (PPC) is paying a fee each time someone clicks your advert on Google or another platform. It puts you at the top of a search page immediately, instead of waiting for ranking to build. GullySales sets the targeting, writes the ad text and checks spend against enquiries received.

For photography and videography studios

Where it usually goes wrong, and what we would do.

  • “Half the people clicking want to become a photographer”

Searches about photography courses, camera prices and studio jobs sit right beside the ones that book a shoot. Those terms get blocked in the first week or they take the budget.

  • “Corporate and product clicks cost less and close faster”

A brand needing catalogue shots decides in days, on turnaround and on work in the same category. The wedding keyword is the expensive one and it takes months to convert.

  • “Stop advertising a date you cannot take”

Once the November weekends are gone, a wedding advert spends money on enquiries you will turn away. Move it to pre-wedding shoots, corporate work or the months still open.

What we do

What we deliver for photography and videography studios.

Every deliverable, what it covers for you, and the result it is there to produce. Nothing here is an extra.

  1. Campaigns split by shoot type

Wedding, pre-wedding, corporate event and product campaigns kept apart, each with its own budget, wording and landing page.

Result: One kind of work cannot spend another's money.

  2. A negative keyword list built for a studio

Blocks on course, institute, job, camera price, freelancer rate and editing software searches, extended from the search terms report.

Result: The clicks you pay for want to hire you.

  3. Landing pages carrying work and a starting figure

A page per campaign with recent frames from that kind of shoot, a from price, the delivery promise and a WhatsApp button.

Result: A click becomes an enquiry with a date attached.

  4. Budget moved as the calendar fills

Spend reviewed against the booking sheet and shifted to the months and shoot types with space left.

Result: You stop paying for dates you cannot serve.

  5. Spend measured against advances taken

Every advertising enquiry traced through the quote to the advance, so cost is read per booked shoot rather than per click.

Result: You know what an advertised booking really cost.

How the result is measured

  • Cost per click
  • Cost per enquiry
  • Enquiries from paid search

Recorded as a baseline before work starts, so every later report has an honest comparison.

Searches to bid on and block

The searches from a couple or a brand choosing a studio, and the ones from people who want to learn the craft.

Wedding photographer, candid or cinematic, plus the city
Bid, ahead of your season. A couple typing this is shortlisting. Show one real wedding in the advert and the dates you still have, and ask the wedding date and venue city on the form.
Pre-wedding shoot and engagement photography
Bid. Often booked earlier than the main event and by the same couple. Land on a page of recent shoots with the locations you travel to, and ask the date they have in mind.
Product photography and catalogue shoot for sellers
Bid, on its own campaign. A seller wants a batch of images shot. Ask the product count and whether they need white background or lifestyle, and show a sample set.
Photography course, camera price, jobs and free photos
Block. Add course, classes, camera, lens, price, job, assistant, free and stock as negatives. Learners and buyers of equipment type the same words.
Where the click lands
Send it to a page of finished work in the style searched, such as candid weddings, with the cities you cover and a form asking date, venue and event. A couple wants to see the work before talking.
Counting a real enquiry
Count a message that gives an event date and a city, or a call about a date you can take. Log whether the date was open and which ones paid an advance, so you see which searches bring bookings.

Who it is for

This is written for these photography and videography studios.

  • Wedding photography and cinematography studios
  • Event and corporate videographers
  • Product and e-commerce photography studios
  • Maternity and family portrait photographers
  • Real estate and architecture photographers
  • Drone and aerial videography services
  • Multi-photographer studio chains

Not for

It is not the right fit if.

  • Your calendar is already full for the season and a paid click would be a date you cannot take.
  • You have no quote you can send on the same day, so a paid enquiry would cool before it is answered.

How it works

How the pay per click advertising work runs

The work itself, in order. How an engagement starts, from your brief to a written scope, is set out on our method page.

  1. 1

    Agree the whole budget

We fix the total paid budget across platforms, who owns each ad account, and how much is open to moving.

  2. 2

    Audit tracking and accounts

We check that conversions fire once, that calls and WhatsApp chats are counted, and that your enquiry sheet matches what the platforms say.

  3. 3

    Set one definition of success

You and we agree what a qualified enquiry is and what an order is, so every platform is judged the same way.

  4. 4

    Build and launch the plan

Campaigns are structured across platforms with shared naming and tags from day one.

  5. 5

Read search terms and lead quality

We review the queries that triggered ads and the enquiries that arrived, and remove waste before moving money.

  6. 6

    Reallocate and report

Budget moves toward what is earning, within agreed limits. Results are reported against the baseline, at the frequency agreed in writing.

Where this fits

Three pieces of sales work, in this order.

This work sits inside sales process design, at stage 1, prospecting and lead generation. The audit comes before it, and sales management keeps it running.

  1. Step 1

    Sales audit

Find where deals are being lost and what to fix first.

Start here if you cannot say where orders are lost.

  2. Step 2 · you are here

    Sales process design

One written way to sell, from first enquiry to repeat order.

Start here if every salesperson sells differently.

  3. Step 3

    Sales management

A target, a review routine and someone who owns the number.

Start here if the team has targets and no routine.

FAQ

Questions owners ask before they call.

What happens to our campaigns once the calendar fills up?
They get moved rather than switched off. Spend goes to the shoot types and months that still have room, which for most studios is commercial work and the off-season. Switching everything off means starting cold when the next season opens.
Instagram or Google for a studio?
Both, doing different jobs. Instagram puts the work in front of people who were not searching, which suits weddings and pre-wedding shoots. Google catches the company that already knows it needs a product shoot this month.
Should we advertise with a package price in the advert?
Only if your packages are fixed. Otherwise a price draws people who compare numbers, not styles. Say what a package includes and send the click to a page that explains the options, and discuss the quote after the date and venue are known.
When the calendar is full for a season, what should the campaign do?
Pause or narrow it for those dates, and keep a small campaign for off-season shoots such as pre-wedding, product or corporate work. Do not pay for clicks you will turn away. Review the open dates before you review the budget.
How long is the contract?
The term is agreed in writing after we have spoken, along with the fee and the reporting. It is never a default twelve months, and renewal is decided on the numbers against the baseline recorded at the start.
How soon will we see results?
It depends on the trade, the channel and what is already in place. After we have read your brief and spoken to you, we say what we would expect to move first and how it will be measured against the baseline. Nothing here is guaranteed.
Who will actually do the work?
The person you speak to before anything starts. We work from one office in Nagarbhavi, Bengaluru, with no account managers in between.
What do you need from us?
Your brief, and a conversation. After that, access to whatever this work touches, such as your website, your accounts or your enquiry record, and time with the people who handle your enquiries.
What if we are not happy with the work?
Tell us and the plan changes. Everything is reported against the baseline, so a number that is not moving is visible to both sides. The term is in your written scope, and the refund and cancellation policy sets out the rest.
